So how is the actual game right now? I remember playing back when it just come out and I had really fun time playing as a thief. The skills, the pvp, the style of gameplay, events. But that was years ago, I been reading about and looks the thief got nerfed really hard and that now in the pvp arenas your keep and use your weapons and armors, meaning difference in the stats.

I been wondering if should buy the expansions to get back to the game but I would like to know a few things first.

  1. Is easy to level up now? (without boost items exp)
  2. Is easy to farm gold?
  3. Is the revenant class good in general?
  4. Between the necro, thief, mesmer, revenant which class is the best for PvE and for a "good" PvP?
  5. Biggest change in the game so far??

Yes.

From the videos I have seen, at lvl 80 with time, planning and grind you can make gold in certain zones farming stuff. You won't get rich in normal play but you'll get by.

My personal opinion is no. Admittedly my sadly-neglected Revenant is only 42, but it doesn't really stand out in any particular field. Maybe at 80...

PvE Necro or Mesmer for me. PvP I never bother with.

For me personally, the specialization classes at lvl 80.

First thing; don't believe what you read about 'nerfed' and 'op' classes. This - and other - forums are horrific for misinformation regarding that. It never ceases to amaze me the disconnect between these forums and what actually goes on in game in that regard. The Part about PvP is wrong, it's still all standardised there; stat-wise. What you have equipped there is entire for fashion, the function of your build comes from your amulet, sigils/runes and traits you pick in the PvP Armour menu.

  1. Yes, it's never ever been an issue in GW2.
  2. Easier now than ever. Just playing the game will give you 10's of gold income a day, additionally there are plenty of 'farming' spots if that's your thing you enjoy.
  3. Some hate it, some love it. I'm in the latter and it's my main, I complete all game content with my Rev/Herald/Renegade and thoroughly enjoy it.
  4. They're all good. How effective they are is entirety up to you, not the class. Though in saying that the pink-haired golden child of gw2 (mesmer) is perhaps on top.
  5. Gliders and Mounts in my opinion.

  1. I'm of the opinion that leveling has always been pretty easy since launch.
  2. Yes, and there are a variety of ways to do this with different skill requirements for each activity, such as the Istan farm being quite simple, or doing daily tier 4 fractals which requires a bit more skill, or doing HoT metas which is somewhere in between.
  3. Any profession will work fine for PvE unless you're doing instanced content like raids. I regularly see all the professions you mentioned, except for the revenant, in PvP.
  4. I think the introduction of mounts has been the biggest change so far. World exploration has changed drastically with different mounts, and they have allowed for very different kinds of maps then we've had in the past.

Overall I feel the game has continued to get better since launch.

I"m just going to answer question 5. There have been so many changes to the game, particularly with the expansions, that picking the single biggest change is almost impossible. Elite specializations have changed the game completely. Mounts have really added to the game. The way conditions are done is completely different these days. The whole formula. Far more advantageous in PVE than it was. The rewards in PvP and WvW are far better than they were. Fractals have changed significantly, raids were added, the HoT metas have changed the game significantly. The living world which adds a new zone with each living story has changed the game. The way legendaries are created has changed. It's impossible to tell you which change is the most important.

  1. Easier than ever and each expansion comes with a level 80-boost (though I would recommend to level naturally at first to get used to the game)

  2. Yes. There are way more different ways to acquire and accumulate gold now compared to at release

  3. Depends on which class you enjoy and can play the best. Mesmer probably is the most demanded class in pve (as chrono), Thief is probabaly the easiest damage dealer at the moment

  4. Elite specialisations, expansions, mounts, raids, redesigned fractals
