AllNightPlayer.1286
How can I mark a text as bold and italic in Markdown? The tutorial says, I have to use 3 × *** or 3 × ___. But the text only apears as italic, if clasped with three of them.If I use * and after some characters **, too, the text apears as bold italicTesting bold italic in a running text. What am I doing wrong? Or is there something wrong with this forum?

Healix.5819
There are cases where it won't parse correctly and thus not give you the expected result. In those situations, you can use standard html instead. For basic italic and bold text, it needs to be that order. _**example**_ or <i><b>example</b></i>
AllNightPlayer.1286
Well, it seems to work out now. Many thanks. I probably always did it the other way—or used the same characters. But it is no a typical Markdown, is it? Or why do I have to use different characters for bold italic??
ReActif.9251
The Markdown language suffers from a lack of standardization that effort has been made in recent years. After each site or tool the use adapts it sometimes to their use, with restrictions or limitations. This is the case on this forum where some parts of the code are a little different or absent
