Gaming Mouse Logitech G502 HERO button binding questions and issues

Recommended Posts

I've been gaming with a Logitech G203 mouse, which offered four additional buttons besides left and right. I just upgrade to the Logitech G502 HERO mouse. It adds five additional buttons from the previous mouse. When in Guild Wars 2, the settings menu will not allow me to bind these new mouse buttons to anything. I know I'm doing it correctly; I've been binding keys and mouse buttons on Guild Wars for years and I've had no problem in doing so. Strangely, in the settings it registers mouse button 1-6, but does not register when I click buttons 6-11. Does Guild Wars not support these additional buttons? I know there is nothing wrong with the mouse because the side buttons work correctly for whatever I program them to do within the Logitech mouse software (such as forward of back in a web browser), but then when I get in game the game acts like all these addition buttons are not even there when I click them. I'm sadden and confused. Anyone game with this mouse and/or know what is going on? Thanks!

I went into the mouse software and bound the keys to letters on the keyboard.

I then assigned those letters to the skill buttons in GW2.

So.. my ‘1’ key on the mouse triggers letter Y, which is bound to skill ‘1’.

And so on..

Interesting. I believe I understand and I will give it a try.

Exactly the solution I was going to recommend. I only have a few side buttons I use on my Razer HEX but they are simply mapped to keys so I press on the mouse instead of the keyboard, but either input would work. It won't increase your keybind real estate, but it will make it much easier to hit the split-second reaction keys.

Ok thank you, this worked. It took me a moment to figure it all out in the Logitech software, but once I got it, presto. OMG now I can have all mounts bound to my mouse. SO EXCITED lol.

Very cool! I randomly lost mine yesterday after 2 years.. well, just the 1-5 skills.

I would suggest saving the profile if your mouse software allows it.

Glad I could help.
