  1. Spear...250-300 close range melee combat, a flurry in a cone for 450-800 range, an aoe knockdown sweep with a slam followup, a piercing evading dash...would be awesome, that's not even burst XD
  2. yeah...bought 2 GS because of that, going through the list "as usual" :/
  3. by charge I mean like the warhorn skill, no the movement one :)
  4. If they made Banner a Kit, I'd like to see a "Charge" ability on War Banner
  5. Pistol spec announced? Did I miss something, is it already confirmed that the next warrior elite spec will get pistols? ok probably me jumping the gun with this guy's thread https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/112748/elite-warrior-spec-the-enforcer-pistol-finally-added-traits#latestI just could see them doing something like this as it smells of Warrior abandon
  6. Yet the pistol spec announced with power or condi leads me to think that maybe some simple option could be possible without a different UI change, something more in the lines of ranger pet selection, meaning no extra runes/different stats for those weapons but keeping the sigil/stat set of the weapon set in use when those weapons would be in use. I kind of like the idea of taking advantage combo fields, but in practice, it just doesn't cut it
  7. The thing about Warrior is not just banners though.Banners are used in pve group play only, which excludes pvp, WvW and solo PvE playWarrior has no damaging utlities or Elites (yeah Rampage is no good, it used to be something with CC damage, now it pales vs Necro shroud)That leaves dps currently only in weapons damage vs most classes who have damaging utilities or kits. Warrior have no real damaging free cast skills and the only lasting aoe dmg fields they have are Berserker longbow burst and torch field. Nothing for Power spec/Core or SB Now back to the reason of the original post was to add some effects that might enhance gameplay, the Banner idea was to have potential usage in situations other than pve group buff vs static Ai, give it some potential usage for pvp/WvW by having some additional effects not currently found on Warrior like aoe weakness, maybe aoe condi dmg reduce, whatever that could help it in current meta (tbd). As for the weapon part I think it should be tested/make scenarios to know the actual range of what you could encounter/do. Please elaborate your thoughts so that actual debates may occur, we need more than just "feeling something" to create a valid scenario where this is appropriately thought on.
  8. Your return to correct/add precision to your intended message is appreciated
  9. I'm assuming you're getting this information from GW2Efficiency? That doesn't mean that it is in a good place for PvP. It might have a presence in PvE, and even in zergs to some extent, but how much it is played isn't reminiscent of how well it is actually performing. Keep in mind, GW2 is much more vastly populated by more casual players who spend a majority, if not all, of their time in PvE related content. sPvP has a much lower population, WvW as well, so out of whichever number of players you're seeing playing Warrior on GW2Efficiency, only a tiny % of them are actually participating in PvP due to Warriors current state. Yes, yes, I know there is a preference in this forum to bring everything down to pvp, because that's where Warrior flaws are most blatant as you have direct competition vs other classes and thus generate more discussion/rant threads, esp based on the ratio of players posting vs spvp than anything else... Well...yes. When Warrior is being spoken about in that particular vein of discussion, i.e it not performing very well, it is highly likely PvP/WvW is the relating content in question. Warrior doesn't really have a lot of issues in PvE content, it has a presence in Raids and Fractals and literally every class does absolutely fine in Open World because its the easiest content available in the game and if you're struggling with that...thats player issue, not the game. Warrior does still see use in zergs, but so much more in a support capacity with Spellbreaker with running full Minstrel gear and Warhorn, and Berserker is just the bullet you load into the gun because it does one thing and one thing only; Arc Divider.I love the little touch if trying to pin player issue/skill on me, it's quite refreshing and charming. I bet you do what with many people to try to lift your little chicken off the ground a little more as if it could fly though it can only glide. why do you even bother writing that shit down? are you so sad you need it to feel a little better? if so come again, I don't mind, I don't get affected by that crap XD
  10. Yeah because it's requested by others doesn't mean it's enjoyable to play which is the whole point of the banner discussion, it sucks for gameplay experience. 9/10 people in a raid will enjoy having banners around, while the class that has skill slots dedicated to them doesn't. Makes sense right? As for weapons adding too much power? I really fail to see how that would be possible given that Warrior is behind in dps benchmarks with their current best weapon sets, at best it might improve a little bit by adding more complexity to their rotation, which is what we see with engi. Don't see anything wrong with looking at other classes and wondering if some of their mechanics could be flavored to Warrior and address some game play issues the class has. at least it would keep a Warrior feeling to it, and not become a engi/thief trapper hybrid who doesn't feel like a warrior but an Engi or Thief variant in heavy armor.

  12. it's quite sad that you comment this way, but it shows how people feel and what they believe what may come of the game if the same type of thinking continues to occur, which is precisely why I started this thread, to get away from that kind of attitude of people's assessment of "what will probably happen" towards a "what 'd like to see in the game".
  13. I use Rifle as a 2nd hand weapon for it's utilities in some occasions, it has decent cc on Berserker with the cripple, Daze from gunflame and rifle butt, it's ok dps too for a single Volley hit then you swap to your axes. You won't be able to maintain good dps in pve with a rifle...just won't happen, you'd need to be able to permanently use Volley for that to happen, and if that's your thing, play Dead Eye :)
  14. yeah there is too much wind up time on skills from warrior, and too short range to his someone who's running away...no pulls (and the tether range limit to pull is not a great mechanic...) unless something major changed, I'm giving up on it as a class for pvp...same thought is starting to creep it's way in for pve as well...long wind up for building damage (3 sec wind up is long for a 15s phase in Fractal CMs for example)
  15. Yet, this is indeed what we see with Ele, but with elements instead. Would be curious as to see how signets would fit in this. As for the Banner on movement...makes me think of Venrati bubble.
  16. The idea for this is to see a Master of arms in the Warrior Class, as Elementalist is a master of the elements, by adding some extra possible gameplay like kits/element swap without needing to add kits. Yes, it means Warrior would probably always have shield as Baseline and also probably 1 ranged option which is very lacking atm. Banners are dull as hell and not used in any active way, while spirits are close, the extra utility skill on them is a nice touch, and Something similar could be done with warrior, I'm thinking it could work like a shout within banner aoe.
  17. I think they could do without a new weapon at all, and just add new weapon skills to the existing ones alltogether, like if Asian based (as the picture leads me to believe) and Warrior gets to have a Samurai spec, I'd like to see completely new uses for Greatsword/No-Dashi, Sword/Katana-Wakisashi, and etc. And some gap closing shadowstep-like skill while using Iaijutsu XD
  18. I'd like to see more versatility/utility to warrior Someone mentioned that Banners have no play usefulness other than location buff, and could add a skill to a planted banner to be more in line with spirits from rangers, and I think that could be a wonderful idea, but would need filler skills/effects/CDs that would make banner play useful in more than just stat buffs. Could see banners have their aoe effects maybe like Charge, Quichness/Alac/Protection/Condi cleanse/Regen and perhaps Fear for battle standard. And regarding the idea of a warrior being a master of arms/quick hands and ability to deal with situations via their weapon skills, seems to me Elementalist would be a great inspiration to look at. Give Warrior 2 more weapon slots that could be seen as secondary sets accessible through F3 and F4 keys, much like Elementalist element swap, only Warrior would be some weapons. So this could look like a Warrior could have something like this:Greatsword & Sword/Shield with F3 Rifle and F4 axe/axe offhand doing a weapon swap could bring you back to your last non F-skill weapon set, so if you were on GS, used rifle with F3 weap swap would bring you back to GS, normal weap swap would bring you in Sword/Shield What are your thoughts?
  19. Plz don't pollute the thread by taking things personally and debating/justifying how you feel and your reasons for it. It adds too little value and takes too much space.
  20. Actually, I'd love the Tether to be something more like the harpoon in Forging steel, which means that while chained/tethered, you can pull back and limit the range of escape of enemies, and have a cc to interrupt them with no damage. Trait line could enable you to aoe harpoon/chain/tether more foes instead of only 1. This is to enable more possible pressure from melee since passive damage and ranged is so lacking...Close ranged combat needs to be menacing and have a good chance to disrupt the fight and enable damage to be done. Hell I would also love to see something like the opposite of push from wisps in W7, with a pull/vaccum in effect on GS3 and Axe 5. Doesn't need to be an actual cc, but the effect would be good enough...
  21. wouldn't also mind a ranged or mid range weapon kit, give it more than just a pistol plz. Warrior is severely lacking in ranged options for effects/damage. I like the idea of a pull, it's indeed missing, if the tether could be pulled in like DH, might be a little different, but it's not...
  22. yes they could add other type of skills to warrior in new F skills instead of banners, like a some physical, stances or shouts...I kinda like the idea of banners though. Seems more rounded and not game breaking.
  23. One of the things that's missing for Warrior right now is some extra F skills. Other classes have extra options for utility/damage/heal with F skills while warrior does not. Banners are always fun to have, for a group, but never fun to have for the actual warrior as they take up utility slots that represent more options for either utility/damage/heal. To have something more in line with other classes, I'd like to see exactly that, Banners as F skills. 2 F skills (F3 and F4) for normal banners which you could select from same as with other utility skills, and even Battle Standard as an F5 skill. I don't think I need to explain much, for people to see this would be an obvious boon to the play quality of warrior.
  24. Tried solo, and she was there however. I had him paired on my team when I had went in and no issue with my story however.
