Which to me suggests there won't be a lot of support. The Commander is supposed to be more on their own in this story, it would be odd to just give them a third set of an all-races masterful team.
I agree from the synopsis its just the commander and Zojja at least early on, i assume we will meet new people as the story progresses..

This is still the team that brought us hamfisted lines like "Beat up the bigot" or "Hi, I'm Yao, your non-binary jade engineer." (Disc.: I don't mind Yao being non-binary or beating up bigots, I just mind the sloppy hamfisted way these things are written and executed in game.)I totally agree myself.

I know i am, i didn't really like most of the post destiny's edge characters myself apart from Taimi and Blish.. So just having Zojja there is a breath of fresh air for my story.. Even if it is probably to save money.. I'm personally good with it.
The story side of this xpac is sounding better and better to me.

I remember GW1 hinted at Sylvari being elves.. real elves and then we got tree people and i lost interest pretty much ever since.. That and charr in GW1 were way better as enemies, than what we got these days.. Fluffy doggo demons aren't for me sadly..
I am glad Asura got hair though so that was a plus.

I used to main Ranger many moons ago in PvE but after the plethora of nerfs because of botters and after it just dragged as a class, it was useless in any grouped content and became a bit of a meme class, as time went on i left it behind some what, mostly Thief, Mesmer or Necro these days. I did see its been up and down over the years and i did play the Trapper build with Soulbeast in PoF days but after they destroyed spirits for me, i dropped Ranger again pretty much.
These days i mostly Run EoD specs mostly Specter but after a lot of nerfs i've switched to Necro Harbringer mostly and occasional Virtuoso. Only in PVE.
Another thing that bothered me about Ranger was the gimmick pets, like a ball and chain dragging along behind me. I miss Guildwars 1 Ranger that could completely remove the pets.

Technically you can lead them to Lions arch after the initial intro its tedious but its doable.
