  1. The cause of the flashing on Mecha seems to be coming from Rifle Burst Grenade not Aerial Assault. Rifle burst grenade needs to be removed from the auto. Too many ways to take advantage of the explosion every second is I believe the reason for the OP of the rifle and the constant explosion animation that is causing complaints of visual noise. Best fix would be to make rifle burst be 3 shots at between .45 or .5 damage, no grenade. If you want to add a second explosion on the rifle, add it to Blunderbuss, or better yet Net Shot (for the lols).
  2. I would hope Festival of the Four Winds would be included. Maybe not the whole festival since it is not any different than the August event, but at the very least a cut scene, or a chapter that takes place where we get to see the whole complete ship used by the Zephyrites. It's destruction is literally the first major event in Season 2 (after the Mordrem surprise at the Henge of Denravi) so you can't skip that without ruining the transition from S1 to S2. BTW, one of the unmentioned changes between original S1 and this chapter was the march of refugees between Hoelbrak and Cragstead. There was a part where you had to investigate vents, help refugees and rebuild signposts that resulted in the "Traveler" title. It was replaced in the replay with the optional search for encoded messages in Wayfarer Foothills. I do not know if this results in the title since I already got it.
  3. As a mathematician I am extremely curious what the numerator and denominator of that 60% statistic is. I have to assume the numerator is successfully defeating the meta to its completion. But what is the denominator? Most non-organized meta's I have seen is we do the pre-events at a pretty leisurely rate, finish the crystals thing, and there is like one minute to defeat Soo-Wan, which we don't bother to do. Is that counted? I'm guessing no, even though it should if we are being real. I also see that only 43% of players that started EoD on GW2 Efficiency have successfully completed the meta at least once. Last time I checked 43% is not 60%. The truth is there are a small number of organized groups doing the meta over and over again, and a large number (at least 3 times as big) of players who have given up on the DE Meta completely, considering it a lost cause. That is where the 60% is coming from, but I guarantee the participation denominator in that fraction is way smaller than the participation in the other three metas. I'm pretty much one of those "lost cause" player at this point. I do the other 3 metas every time they come up and the only thing we need to succeed is enough people participating. No hour prep time, no meta builds or organized groups to worry about, just 20 to 25 minutes of GW2 fun.
  4. I've been experimenting a lot with Specter. I don't bother with the snowcrows rotation nonsense, my main criteria is "is it fun to play?" Here is the gist: How to play Spectre when you are used to Daredevil: Instead of Assassin stats, run Celestial or Ritualist, instead of Eagle runes, use Firework, instead of Critical Strikes and Trickery, use Deadly Arts and Acrobatics, Instead of staff and Pistol/pistol use Scepter/Pistol Shortbow, instead of Signets and Tricks, use wells and venom (and blinding powder - nice blast finisher). Playstyle: Instead of spam 1 and spam 3 over and over, you... well spam 1 and spam 3 over and over, I guess that part hasn't changed. For just fun running around PvE you can drop the wells, useful in zergs, not for self preservation. When soloing, go with heal signet and infiltrators so you can use 3 as much as possible. "Endless Night", the rollover skill on 3, is your big damage dealer (or barrier dealer if you are targeting an ally) especially if you have Deadly Ambition and Potent Poison on deadly arts. Assassins reward on acrobatics is excellent to keep your health up, and use the condi cleanse traits, as condition removal on Specter is severely lacking. Have fun!
  5. I agree. They could easily substitute doing the Keining Meta, or purchased for X writs of Keining in its place. Worse the saddle piece is not awarded immediately, but from the chest at the end of the strike that can sometimes bug. I actually managed to get it with an organized run by my guild. The mechanics of the fight are not difficult. Bring whatever meta build you play well. I think the biggest problem with the Strike is that it is long, about 25 to 30 minutes a run, (but no time limit), and of course if the team wipes you have to start over. But I'm in the camp of NO non legendary content locked behind strikes, raids, or ridiculously overcomplicated open world metas that takes two hours to try, with a 98% fail rate.
  6. What is really needed is to kill the RNG on the fight. It makes the event hard, true, but it also makes it frustrating and BORING to do the same thing over and over again. My fix Soo Wan does three opening attacks, set attacks no RNG, doesn't matter what they are. Then a breakbar followed by a damage phase to get Soo Wan to 80%, if it takes too long, another breakbar. MAKE SOO WAN IMMUNE TO ELECTRO SHOCK! It's a skill from IBS mastery that not everyone has access to, force people to use their skill CCs which are usually stronger anyways. Once 80% reached first green phase, followed by 2 to 3 attacks, then another breakbar/damage to 60%. Then split one, followed by 2 to 3 attacks to 40% and second green, then second split at 20% and then 2 final attacks then breakbar/damage until its done. Keep the time the same, but 10 set attacks + 4 extra phases is enough to keep it interesting without frustrating the player base.
  7. Removing the evade from the auto attack kills the weapon for me. GS was a defensive melee weapon designed to keep you in the fight as long as possible while doing moderate damage. Now it is a really big sword that doesn't do as much damage. In other words, useless.
  8. Getting rid of the evade on the auto attack on Ranger Greatsword is a HUGE nerf that basically kills the weapon for me.Ranger Greatsword has ALWAYS been a defensive weapon for the most part, and evading 50% on the auto attack was the primary source of that defense. It also comboed nicely with Striders Defense to add quickness to the auto for really good sustain. That's all gone! Ranger Greatsword is basically yet another offensive weapon of which Ranger already has too many.Axe/Warhorn outplays Greatsword at every level and at 900 range.
