had it happen in pvp once today today, but thats the only time its ever happened in pvp, and it never happens in pve/ow. Its just annoying because wvw becomes unplayable and it doesn't matter the location. i can be running around an empty borderland nowhere near a point, or i could be in a massive battle at SM. As mentioned, i too tried turning everything to low and it basically had no effect. some lag takes so long that tonight a T1 tower gate went from 100% to 0% while i was waiting for the game to catch up. obviously when it did, i was insta dead from the team rushing in. people saying boonballs (i don't know what that is) or other things that make it happen and saying its been going on ages, this new lag has only been effecting me for 4 weeks or so, so is it the same thing? and the video linked a couple posts up is exactly what is happening to me, but also as mentioned above, now its not even giving the flashing icons to say the skill is queued up to use! 😞

dunno if this has been mentioned before as its such a long thread: option for items being greyed out on vendors and especially gem store. you can still buy it again if you want it for whatever reason. some filters could be for items you don't want to look at or already know the skin for example.

just noticed properly that im not getting 10ap per day anymore for the daily. wiki says this is because i've hit the 15k daily ap cap. has this cap always been a thing? cause i swear i was getting the daily 10ap about a month ago and i've been playing since launch on and off. if so i guess there goes my hopes of getting more than 40k ap. (im 39k atm).

same here. with the exception of EoD metas when they launched (which has since been fixed), i've never had problems with lag since launch. but for about the last 3 weeks or so WvW (only!!) has been pretty much unplayable. when a fight happens, things just start lagging. skills wont activate, and by the time any thing moves, the enemy has teleported across the screen to me and im dead. is there a special reason why this is happening now when its never happened before? i know we had a wvw bonus event recently. was that related? really would like to go back to playing wvw cause its sorta fun, but yeah, pretty much unplayable atm 😞

glad i wasn't going mad. i've completed the heart of maguuma track about 9 times recently in wvw compared to the pvp track only twice so it has been increased a lot in wvw. and like you said, its better that the rewards are got from actually wvwing. for pvp however, it still feels very slow and the amount you get from the 80 (dragon) chest feels like nothing especially when now compared to how fast wvw is.

been a while since i posted on this (page 11?). i was wondering if there has been any info on the loss of pvp & wvw reward track potions that previously came from dailes? I've feel that wvw seems to be giving a ton of reward track progress recently, though i could be wrong, i think this is coming from the wood/silver/gold etc chests, but not sure if this was always the case. however pvp seems to be slower than ever. i know they've added potions to the "lvl 80" chest, but that seems so slow to get, and not give any noticeable amount. am i missing something that has balanced the loss or reward track pots?

not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but on top of everything else, what about pvp/wvw reward track potions? thats 6 pvp /wvw potions (1500points each) daily that are gone. and then all the potions you could get for the weekly wvw, 22 if you did all i think? (5500 points). has reward track progress been increased somehow? or is there something im missing or have we just lost this QoL for reward tracks 😞

belated ty to you both. i turned some settings down and i dont currently have any issues with meta's. My settings were never really that high anyway which confused me at first, and as i usually only caught the meta on the last boss, trying to tag/fight the boss tunnel visioned my priorities over changing settings mid fight. i was just curious if there had been some significant hardware requirement changes with the release of EoD since i never had any issues pre EoD. again, ty :)

I've played GW2 on and off since launch, and for all of the last year. i've never really had issues i can remember where connection was a problem apart from the occasional MASSIVE WvW situation. However, since EoD release i get disconnected during some Metas. The main one is the Seitung Province meta in the cave. i have tried this 7 times. 5 times my computer has frozen, and i have to access task manager to get control back of other applications, but GW2 remains frozen and must be forced shut. the other 2 times i actually looked away from the boss so didn't see peoples spells, but this makes me almost a leacher doing just auto damage with a bow. It also happens with Pinata in Crystal Oasis meta, and rarely with Chak. & Tequatal. When i relog, i either A) miss the loot as the fight is over, B) get put on a different map where meta will fail, or C) the game freezes again. This has been quite disheartening tbh as even though i bought EoD on launch, i've not really played there yet cause im enjoying playing other parts of the game currently but makes me hesitant to try EoD maps. I've not tried the meta's on any other EoD map yet. I know my computer is about 4 years old now or so, but it was a decent enough spec at the time, and the core game is 10 years old. Is there something im missing that could help to stop my game freezing during crowded encounters? RAM = 16gb DDR4 GPU = EVGA GTX 1060 CPU = Intel i5-8600k 3.60GHz Win 10 HD - HDD. But... WoW is sub based, yet people say that each new store mount is beautiful when compared to another reskinned boar in the game? i personally have always loved GW2 even though i have not played it during HoT and the last year or so because the lack of subscription means i dont feel like im losing money by not playing. also, if i decide i want to just randomly play out of the blue i am not restricted by am i subbed or not. or dont need to buy a 60 day sub to play for 1 week. also, i have never given a PENNY to WoW beyond the sub and the standard game cost. compare that to GW2 where i think i bought some gems when GW2 originally released, and i bought the deluxe edition of PoF and some more gems. the lack of sub makes me choose do i tip Arenanet for their good work instead of being forced to "tip" blizzard for their poor work. and answer was yes.

this is specifically what the discussion was about! thank you for the input all. i disagreed with him because when i think of transmog, i think of wow transmog where people try to collect EVERY item. that doesn't seem to be the exact translation in GW2? as transmog means getting a set (or a few) that makes you look how you want. not every item in the game. ty all again :D

getting into a debate with a WoW player who i think is quite closed minded. He is claiming the end game in GW2 is transmog. While i dont think this is the case, i cant actually counter him with the actual answer cause i dont know what most GW2 players deem as the end content. i think there are lots of options at max level, not least of which is fun! but im curious what the communities take on what "end game" is.

ok, gw2efficiency seems to show you hidden recipes. its VERY clunky (needing to then go through wiki) especially compared to the feature im used to in wow, but its there. tyvm :D

Danikat: ty. i was mixing up inscriptions with runes/sigils i think :( Donari: ty. i will have a look at gw2efficiency. atm i am having to wiki everything (i have taken long breaks between LWs1 and start of s3 p2, and then again between s3 p2 and 2 months ago when i came back. so i have many wierd items in my bank/bags that i have had to wiki because i have no memory of when i got them. and while wiki is extensive, doing it this way can be fustrating as wiki has only basic info, and a lot of it doesn't smoothly connect, even like giving no info when you hover over an item. maybe i am more used to wowhead in the past. but i will be looking at gw2efficiency now ty :)

i cant help being a completionist :( i was wondering is there any way in game to see what recipes i have not yet learnt? in wow (finally) it shows you all the recipes in game, and lists the ones you have, and the ones you dont. i was going through bank and i have many bits and bobs i've not sold because they may be useful in learning unknown recipes, thus i may be sitting on a bit of gold that i am not giving myself access to. example, i found a Sentinel's Mithril Plated Inscription. its currently going for 50-92g! BUT it seems there are 8 weaponsmith, 7 huntsmans, and 4 artificer plans i dont know. so im losing out on 50-92g by hanging onto it. but as its no longer attainable, i dont want to sell it while i am missing recipes. and on that note, am i able to use 1 Sentinel's Mithril Plated Inscription to craft each of those 19 recipes im missing by crafting it, and salvaging it, and will i get the Sentinel's Mithril Plated Inscription back each time when i salvage with a mystic salvage kit. or is there a risk of losing the Sentinel's Mithril Plated Inscription if the salvage rng doesn't work in a certain way. many thanks :)

not sure this is the right place. i have not played in a long time. i am still not sure i will stay playing long term, but wow and blizzards actions over the last couple of years has really just drained the heart out of me. i dont play much, but i do like pvp and wvw.but anytime i try wvw i cant find anyone else to fight with. people either dont reply or joke about in chat (not even sure im using the right one). and my guild that i joined when i last played 2 years ago only has 5 active players now.so i was wondering is there any guild that looks at wvw mainly, that wouldn't mind me taking up a guild slot?also, not sure when is best time to wvw, its midnight now, but i've been here about an hour, and just keep getting mobbed by the other teams.i think im on fissure of woe server. i dont even know how servers work these days :smany thanks.

is the state of the game not good currently then? i started playing on release having played wow for 6 years at that point. i think i stayed until shortly before the first expansion came out, then went back to wow. but came back when path of fire came out for a few months, then left and now have updated everything and am considering should i come back. i do like MANY aspects of gw2. i just dont have any friends here, though tbh i only have 3 real friends on wow :\ im going to give gw2 a chance anyway, but should i expect problems in the future which are known now? It truly depends on which gamemode you like.PVE, you should be finePVP, probably would stick with WoWWvW, dead game modethat is a MASSIVE shame :( although im not great at it in any game, i always enjoy pvp. considering the state of wow pvp, this is worrying to hear about gw2 pvp. also about wvw as the concept of it is amazing and i did like taking part in the past when there were was decent battles going on. i have never raided, and never got into dungeons or fractals so instanced pve would probably not be something i would focus on, though i may try them once or twice. this is very sad to hear, though i will still give the game another chance as it has so much right with it. thank you for your reply :)
