  1. if you want to farm gold, just fish. With everything maxed it's over 20 g per hour. You can do it endlessly anytime solo. I often do it. Can hardly be easier than that. A good zone for it is in around Amnoon, you can often find me there.
  2. I like this skill, however something annoys me, particularly in wvw : i want to cover people with the net turret when we siege a tower/castle but the net turret shoots the door while being very far from the door. It's quite disingenuous, especially with its long reload time. I kind of know what 600 range is as the tooltip says, and it rather shoots doors from like 1000-1200. Would appreciate if you guys could do something.
  3. To me a food with max stats, stat selection and unlimited uses as you say would be the end to all the food in the game. That's way worse than buffing xp gain, gold from monsters, and giving cool gameplay effects. About the loot, it mostly depends on what it is. It may as well be insect items with a food effect like the grasshoppers or just vendor items. Your idea seems like being made for people who are not interested in game food and just want a no brainer to get rid of crafting. Doesn't add fun nor real gameplay value, rather kills a crafting profession instead. What you really want are the 2nd and 10th birthday food items, that already exist, that are nearly max stats already, given for free with unlimited uses. Now doing the same with maxed values and stat selection would just be over the top without adding value, making all food nodes useless on all the maps except for newbies (who must be rare these days) and some black lion items too (metabolic primer, garden plots, many home instance nodes etc) . Now remove the unlimited uses, and i could add it to my list.
  4. Hello, Please make it possible to drop the grasshoppers and the honeypot ants enabled from a legendary weapon collection again after eating one of them. Maybe then make the drop rarer. I'm sad not finding them anymore now that i have eaten one. Regards, Gideon
  5. Hello, I already wrote a topic about legendary food a while ago but i'll try to be more specific, in the hope it drags a bit more attention. Legendary food is crafted once unlocking conditions are met. required main ingredient for legendary food : legendary grade ingredients : Legendary plants. They can grow at the end of a jumping puzzle, or proc very rarely in some plant nodes. They may require a specific gathering tool being crafted through a mini questline just like there was one for ascended food and the kiln, maybe as a consumable legendary sickle that can be crafted again. Legendary fish. We already have those. Why not make one or two of them specifically required for a legendary food, for example in a new map addition. These would require legendary crafted lures from the hunting profession for example and maybe some bait being loot from specific other fish (think fish eggs, but rarer) Legendary meat. Acended food introduced the quality meat. Let's add an exquisite meat, dropped by some hard to beat mobs (elite mobs, maybe champions if they are soloable reasonably like some are) Other components of legendary food crafts could be ascended food, regular food and ingredients, and so on. What these foods would do : The best food you can ask for, but in specific ways. - pumping up some numbers from ascended food if it's not gamebreaking (like huge buff to gold drop from monsters, magic find, buffing the stats that don't change much most of the time wouldn't hurt, or big XP buffs, like very big xp buffs, also WVWEXP) - enable new specific drops. For example if the legendary food is a feast, make it so that the feast on the ground attracts mobs to get resources from, or insects to pick up directly in addition to the ingestion effects. Or maybe the insects are the food effect themselves ? It could be possible to add a minigame there, like a whack-a-mole session and so on. - a sea feast could be thought of. Why not make a feast to use on the ocean ? Would be cool, either a feast that stays in the water and attracts fish and other marine creatures, or a floating feast. - some personal legendary foods (non feasts) that grant a new combat/utility skill. Anything like the hulky strength skills (boulder throwing etc) , or an ability to drop some crumbs of the food on the ground to tame animal mobs temporarily, or summon/move neutral wildlife around you and so on. - added exclusive skin effects (like infusions but with different unique looks) - the legendary feast skins placed on the ground would be unique looking so that it adds flavour and allow players for quick recognition. - new stats being specifically granted by these foods - edit : also a food pinata, working like a static mob to attack for everyone around, giving random food to the players dealing damage to it, untill it's destroyed. Thank you for your attention, Gideon
  6. Been a while since EoD came out now, like a year and a half now or so. The well-known bug where the meta event NPC Mizuki stops moving and event fails by itself without hardly any realistic solution possible to players is still there, leading to a meta fail near its completion. Please fix this. Somehow the meta being called "Kaineng Blackout" failing on its own due to a dev bug has some charm to it with all the puns you can find, but it would be better as fixed. Still encoutering this bug over a year later, making a full raid fail the map's meta feels kind of off.
  7. I'm not only talking for myself as well. I also had another thread where someone ended up looking dumb by his own fault trying to criticize me while misunderstanding something. I used no reaction on him and tried keep polite but someone did. Now that guy has a single confused emote on his post and i'm sure he thinks i'm the one who put it there. It's a source of misunderstanding and assumptions as well.
  8. well when i bought my garden plots for 1000 gems with real money to get better food effects, that was pay to win. When i bought the black lion mail delivery items and get instant loot everyday, i knew it was pay to win. When i started the game and bought some gold via gem exchange to increase my crafting levels, that was pay to win. As i said several elemnts of legendary items are pay to win. If you buy gold via gems you have 80% of your guild upgrades done. All you need is time and you get most guild hall upgrades. And that's feasible solo. You can pay for inventory bags. You can pay for archetypes and switch all you have via shortcut. You can actually get in line with the best gear in one or two days from scratch if you buy gold or leg weapons, ascended insignias and so on. You can buy gold via gems to get most consumables. You can speed progression in many fields with gold. You can buy several home instance upgrades solely with money. Hell, one day i really wanted the bauble node in my home when the event wasn't there, all i had to do is pay 50 euros. Never played SAB. That's pay to win. One day I missed the event but i wanted the new SAB food recipe for the karma gain, same thing, all i had to do was buying the baubles. Cost me 10 or 20 euros i forgot. Should i not do that i could still buy the food directly. You seem to imply this game isn't pay to win. Most of it is.
  9. Well we could argue on that but in my view legendary armor and weapons are already pay to win. They increase your build versatility through rerolling your stats anytime, for example it's useful for people following meta changes quickly. I'm sure many people get them for this reason as well as the skin. Some people even prefer other skins than the leg they have. They also allow for safe upgrade removal so they can allow for saving gold and resources later on. They are already slightly pay to win. The old legendary runes are also pay to win, i use them to reroll my rune skills between combats in WvW for example, already noticed you could use them for some stackable gimmicks like rune summons when you want to have fun. Probably some skills would be more meta than others. But not everyone is following meta builds. I never followed any meta builds, refused entering guilds asking me to change everything on my toon for meta's sake. Im just one player but there are certainly many like me. Meta is not the be all end all of the game. Also even if something was really better than the rest, the devs would eventually nerf it to balance things. And meanwhile the nerf is not there this said skill is better, that's actually something worth playing for for many players. What do old players like beta players have to do ingame right now ? Get confetti aura ? Reach WvW level world record ? Why not play for an item then ? Players always need something to look for. When many players have nothing to acquire, they usually quit the game soon after. If you want some player retention, you first need something for players to look for. Legendaries can help for a given public for a while, but after 10 years relying solely on skins it doesn't look much realistic.
  10. What annoys people with relic change is having to do the same grind or pay twice for the same result, not doing it the first time.
  11. What annoys people the most about relics is not the skills they grant. It's the other way around. What annoys them is losing these skills on their legendary runes. Many people actually farmed real hard to get legendary runes, for the very reason of acquiring these skills because they like them. What people fear is having done all this hard work for nothing with the upcoming change. But i don't remember anyone complaining about the runes themselves. You turned the problem 180 degrees here.
  12. Well i could give other examples if i put more thought into it but i think you get it. But nowadays many people see and talk to other players online more often than some of their neighbours, especially in apartment buildings, so it seems kinda valid to me. And some players actually sometimes end up being friends. Happens to the best of us.
  13. Let's go that way then. As a matter of comparison, If you don't get along with your neighbours and if you just had a dispute with your friend, would receiving anonymous letters in your mailbox saying "i don't like you" or "you're weird" and so on help anything in this matter ? I don't think my point is difficult to understand. No matter the context, expressing disagreement through anonymity doesn't help much in any discussion, especially in the middle of people already talking. Not my life btw.
  14. I think these forums would be much more sane if we could actually know who's behind the happy, sad, and.... the famous "confused" emotes. Right now ignoring who is behind them is a source of unnecessary pressure and tension among forumers. Maybe there are 10 guys who concentrate 90% of the confused emotes on the forums and nobody knows. And so on. Discord does that and it feels much better. Thanks
  15. I disagree with that. You can't even say it "doesn't work" because noone ever tried here. Also no reason it wouldn't.
  16. Personally i saw a big upward trend in quality with EoD. First time the game really made me laugh (positively) with the story and adding fishing is the best thing that could happen to me.
  17. A creative mount idea to me would have been to get several animals carry you at once, like a little tribe. Think of the baby skyscales glider idea but on the ground while running or with special attacks. Would there be a need for it ? Don't think so, but movement is already pretty well covered so far. Only thing i can think of for now that would feel different is a hit and run multiple animal combat mount doing fun and unusual things. But i'm sure there would be many better things to do with the studio's resources. Maybe a skritt caravan with the skritt holding the carriage and the tribe escorting ? I could think about something like that but that would be very nichey. Or maybe a land vehicle in the vein of the WvW tactic.
  18. I tried it, but the game where you are exiled and you got to find a clear path has 20 times more content, so if i had to choose i'd go that path. These are not the same type of games though.
  19. I think this expansion is a cornerstone in this game's evolution. It's a new concept for product selling and monetization. What interests me the most is not really this sole expansion, but i think the frequency of new releases is going to increase dramatically in the future if they keep the same concept. We don't get much content i agree with that, but it took them like a year to do, maybe a bit less. If i could get such updates every year that would be something. Something better than waiting 5 full years to have a new combat skill to play with. Of course the content is lighter than usual, but that's about what the devs can do in such a timeframe. You can't really compare expansions' depth between one who took 5 years of dev with one that took a year or less to make. Between one where most things were in place and one where you have to reinvent yourself. It's like comparing a premade house with a million bucks manor and saying : hey the manor has more charm to it, why don't they make more of these manors ? As for the strikes, i probably won't play them as usual unless i am forced to do so. Thing is they did more than just 2 maps and 2 strikes, this is just what interest you and what you remember. But they did more things that that in the xpac. Personally i like gameplay so what interests me the most is the new skills and the new rewards, and maybe the relics if something ends up different.
  20. People said it before, best thing to attract any kind of public is new content. As for new players.... game is 10 years old, most people who would want to play it already did. That's the big problem. There are many 10 years old games i never played, and i doubt i'll try any any time soon, with better and recent games coming out and getting updated everyday. It's the same for any old game : nostalgia or people who never quit, i doubt many new players will come now no matter what Anet does, even if it is a brilliant move. Unless they totally shape it anew, and even then the cost is probably not worth it.
  21. Thing is what's bad for someone is good for someone else. If you want happy customers better add things rather than replace existing ones. In one case you make 95% happy customers in the other like 50%. Maybe you'd find the replacement skills worse yourself.
  22. I know many games with such feature, where it's not hated at all. Not giving names because ToS but there are many. I'd prefer working on something with a fair price improving gameplay rather than paying a fortune for bees, confettis or bubbles floating around me, or let's say have both in the game for the fluff fans. That's the main reason i play this game much less than before : i could go away for a year and my toon would be in the same state as if i played all year. I'll tell you that. Been there since 2012. I personally have nothing to spend resources on. I fish cause it's fun, but i don't even need the gold, cause i have nothing to buy. My stats are maxed, had some fun with food now i got a 2-3k hours food stock. I got like 3% of the skins in this game and i'm satisfied with it. I feel zero need getting more. I made my solo guild and i'm good with it. Got my masteries, the leggies i wanted. Played all game modes over 25k hours. What is left for me to farm ? On the other hand getting some skills to play with would be something, and having to play to get them would be a reason to play. Playing hours long to get a confetti aura doesn't motivate me. Having gear carry some skills would be a good reason to play for people who want gameplay and allow for a little more replayability.
  23. It only increases homogenization to some people min maxing, should some skills stand out. Not all the playerbase has a dps meter all day and does raids looking at their watch. Personally if i like the skills i'll play with them, and i'm not alone in this. Please remember players can use the skills they want as long as it's technically possible to do so. Having 5% less dps on a given configuration or so doesn't mean noone is gonna play with them, far from that i'm pretty sure. Not everyone is a competitive player here, most on this game's content is casual intended anyway. And some people just play the way they want. You could even slack in WvW buses, doubt people would notice easily. And if they did you could still follow. And so on. I also had a good time doing my own thing in pvp modes for a while, because when your build starts beating the meta, you suddenly beat several players at once who thought they had "the truth" and sometimes it's a funny thing to do, especially when you don't feel forced to play skill a or b like them and just use the ones you like. I remember some WvW players insulting me for doing unlikely things to beat them and these are my medals.
  24. i think they were talking about the weaver new 3 rd key weapon skill, some warrior specific skills and the like since it's related to their addition. I didn't read that as if they were adding full skill set like utility, healing and elite skills which are unrelated to weaponry or so. If they did they would have made things more clear about it and emphasized on it on the same level as weapon skills, which they didn't do. You don't focus your ad on a scooter if you have an electric car for sale as well.
