  2. All of it is making me want to play the game less. I'm sure I'm not alone in that thinking, and that's what should really concern Anet at the end of the day. Fumbling nerf waves that trash what the player-base has invested in for years leads to a disillusioned and unhappy player base. I'm a casual player. I admit it. I was loving my open-world condi Revenant pre-EoD. Now I barely touch that character because it's gone from something that could take on 4 mobs at once to something that gets trashed by them within seconds. I'd also leveled up a decent Scrapper, that got nerfed. I've been enjoying Mechanist, but everyone seems to want to nerf that too for some reason. I'm enjoying playing the Specter spec too, but with all these nerfs flying about, if that gets taken away from me too all its doing is taking away my desire to log back in again.
  3. If you're using a VPN, make sure it's disabled first
  4. If it helps anyone, today I discovered that I was blocked from buying gems, or logging into arenanet, when using Mozilla VPN. If you're connecting via a VPN, it may be this that is blocking you.
  5. A Minion Master is not just the singular flesh golem. The equivalent of the Mech would be to have everything but the flesh-wurm thing summoned and then compare how long it takes for your 4 dps summons to kill the mob while the flesh golem tanks it, but even then, a pet-less necro does more damage than a pet-less mechanist, so it's still a bit of an apples to oranges comparison. I'm actually pretty sure that you know this, and you're just trolling at this point because if you really believe what you said is a fair comparison, then everyone can discount every single thing you've said in this thread as being the rantings of someone who doesn't know what they're talking about.
  6. My mistake. Thought you meant PvE. I don't play PvP, but if it needs balancing there, I'm fairly sure Anet will get to it soon enough with their competitive splits.
  7. This is a disingenuous comparison. The scrapper can provide whole ton of sub-group based Quickness which a Mechanist can not. It's a swings and roundabouts deal. The Mech is basically making up for what is lost by losing the other elements that a Scrapper provides. A Power Scrapper can deal low/mid-30K DPS and grant a fair bit of of vulnerability, quickness, superspeed, and might. A full support Power Quickness Scrapper will do over 28K DPS and give all those team boosts full-time (https://snowcrows.com/builds/engineer/scrapper/power-quickness-scrapper) A power-alacrity mechanist (https://snowcrows.com/builds/engineer/mechanist/power-alacrity-mechanist ) does ~26K DPS and provides less boons. It's kind of an apples vs oranges comparison. A scrapper provides better support. If it really bothers you though, start pushing for some scrapper love, rather than nerfing engineers down.

Snowcrows posted a bunch of updated builds with DPS rotation videos just today. https://snowcrows.com/builds?profession=Engineer Check out the support builds there for Mechanist. ~25K DPS as a team support. That's good deal less than a number of other support builds. In pure DPS only mode, backed up by a team, yeah, it'll hit ~41K, but browse through Snowcrows and there's at least 10 other builds of various classes provided doing similar damage. So basically we have a class that does about the same DPS as the top tier of anything else, supports a little worse than other established support specs while doing less damage, and it seems to me that people are basically whining because it's a pet class, and the pet takes pressure off the player in open world, just like every other pet class does, or a any class with a rune of golemancer. Truly, I do not understand what the fuss is about. There's finally a class that vies for consideration outside of the holy trinity of Guardian/Rev/Necro for raids, and suddenly people start whining about it. The arguments here against the Mechanist are simply not backed up by evidence. It's all just emotionally charged hyperbole.

  10. Seems that you're pretty much playing the elitist card here. "No one has the right to play something that they don't have to work as hard at as another class". I assure you that there are other builds that make the mechanist look second rate, and only require a few more key-presses here and there. The Mech isn't invincible, and it will die quickly in certain scenarios unless the player actively manages it. Does it hold aggro so that the player can focus their rotations? Sure, but that option is also available to literally every other spec if they want it.
  11. The point being what is the REAL reason that Mechanist is being called out when there's probably 20+ other specs/builds that do the same? Are we just going to ignore all those too? What is it that the OP is REALLY complaining about here?
  12. You're being overly dramatic. I play a Mech. I promise you that the mech is not invincible, not even in Open World, and the Mech itself is not the main source of DPS. In practise, to be honest, the Minion Master feels more low-energy. Also, NO ONE is doing 41K with a Mechanist without serious keyboard dancing skills, and that's no different to pretty much any other class. Yes, the Mech can hold the aggro of open-world enemies while you wail on them, but that's no different to pretty much every other class with a Rune Of Golemancer, or any other pet-based class. I believe that you're deliberately conflating issues for some personal butt-hurt agenda you have going on.
  13. Something more like "On the double!" would seem neutral for either engaging or retreating, or perhaps "Move it soldier!", or "Double time!" as per the military phrase for a regulation running pace
