  1. Besides all the many points that have been already made over and over by others and with which I entirely agree, I would like to put emphasis on a aspect that only few pointed out specifically: the Elite skill. (1) At present, when it comes to functionality it is just not worth it, especially considering it is supposed to be the most powerful button available to the Elite spec: a few seconds of gradually shorter cooldown on weapons on a long cooldown. Not nearly enough. (2) Second, thematically it is basically a worst Weaver elite skill. Even the visual effects is almost the same. Again? This is particularly problematic given that Elementalist always had this problem with Elite skills that either do not stand out as original OR are cool from a thematic point of view but are useless mechanically (see Tornado...). So, among the many things that need to be reconsidered with the Catalyst, please do include the Elite skill and possibly invent something entirely new, because just changing the numbers may marginally address problem (1), but would leave problem (2) unsolved. Give us something that is both distinct and powerful to use when we press that button. It's what Elite skills are supposed to be, after all.
  2. I am in the same situation. Already submitted a ticket. So far no answer...
  3. Oh, ok. I was wondering if it was only me... I also submitted a bug report in game. It's really quite an odd problem, and "unfortunately" also a pretty rare one, so there's not much talking about it. I hope it gets noticed and fixed, nonetheless.
  4. I have collected all 8 pages needed to complete the Mysterious Journal Achievement and unlock the Tengu Weapons collections, but the Journal still appears as Incomplete, the Achievement is stuck at 7/8 and the page count very oddly goes from 1-4, skips 5, and then goes 6-9. This prevents me from going for the Tengu Weapons collections. Very odd bug.
  5. Still having the same problem myself. I am quite surprised that such a serious issue hasn't been addressed already. I basically cannot access one of my characters and I also have crashes in the character selection screen.
  6. Just a simple thank you...This is the announcement so many of us were waiting for. Now we know the game has a relevant future ahead, something big to look forward, and this is essential for a MMORPG.
  7. I have noticed that, as the Living Story progresses, we have seen more and more emphasis on sci-fi, technological imaginaries. I wonder why and if you plan to continue this trend in the future. Now, I am not questioning the presence of these elements in general: they are clearly part of the Guild Wars lore, especially in association with the Asura. Still, I cannot but notice that they are becoming increasingly prominent, in my modest opinion at the expenses of other more intruiguing fantasy elements that used to give a sense of mystery and authenticity to the setting. Nowadays we know of dragons because of some installed tech device instead of relying on ancient prophecies; we are constantly told what's happening by Asura geniuses that analyze some batch of data instead of listening to some Ancient Order that has been guarding Elder Dragons for centuries; we seek audience with a Goddess, but not much comes of it, while on the other hand we are constantly updated through "cellular phones" in our ears about what's going on in the world; etc. Mind you: I do not want to crudely dismiss entirely these elements, and I understand that sometimes they can make the life easier for the writers to the benefit of the story presentation (like: clearly since we now have "cellular phones" you can deliver many lines of dialogue from different characters even when the player is venturing alone in the new maps). But is it all there is to it? Or are you consciously trying to make GW2 more a mix of sci-fi and fantasy? Personally, I would really love some more of the "arcane" side of the world to come back: give me ancient scrolls over phones, give me prophecies over data, give me obscure magic over devices, give me gods that act mysteriously over teenage Aura geniuses that solve world ending crises in 2 seconds with their clever plans... My 2 cents and honest curiousity. Your efforts are appreciated and I eagerly look forward to know more on August 30th...
  8. I really appreciate this attempt to dialogue with the community on this.A couple of ideas from me as well. First: you need to communicate clearly the kind and amount of content you offer. I watched the Path of Fire launch event and, despite the fact that I liked a lot what I saw, I was in utter disbelief that the long video NEVER pointed out clearly all the post-launch content that was going to be released for PoF owners, especially fractals and raids. It was all about "PoF has 5 new maps and mounts". For a game that has a bad reputation (after its original launch) about having "no endgame content", not mentioning that you now regularly release raids and fractals dungeons is plainly absurd. I mean, really? Second: more in general, never lose a chance to make clear lists of all the content you add. New maps, new fractal dungeons, new raids, mounts, specializations, maps, etc. Seriously, people need to get specifically that you release all kinds of content, regularly and for free. Each time you plan to release something, it should be clearly spelled out. When WoW or Final Fantasy XIV release a new content patch they have long videos detailing and showing what they are releasing, and people say things like "well, they really support their game with a steady stream of content". Why GW2 does not? You do the same WITHOUT asking for a sub fee and you don't push this? Third: There are some things that GW2 does so amazingly that you can take the luxury of just showing it and it will market itself. Take the way GW2 does flying mounts. In other MMOs nothing compares even remotely to the coolness of flying a griffon. Show how cool it is. A good example is this phenomenal video: How on earth this absolute marvel has only about 28.000 views on YouTube is beyond me. Other MMOs would dream to have something so cool to show, it speaks for itself. But any crappy video released by some WoW youtuber gets more views. Seriously, push something cool like this and at the end simply have a one-liner selling PoF mounts. Of all the videos you did for PoF launch, nothing was remotely as cool as this video is.
  9. The expansion is excellent. The best work you have done so far when it comes to story, map exploration, elite specializations, etc. I have only two negatives to share:1. Major negative: You went from having all maps in HoT being meta events on timer, to having zero map meta events and epic world bosses. Now, exploring the new maps is much better than in HoT. But map metas not on a timer, like the Silverwastes, are also a fantastic way of playing the game and something other MMOs don't have. You should offer a bit of both maps: free open world exploration and map metas/world bosses.2. Minor negative: Elite specializations still need some work to be balanced. Sword weaver still feels too weak.
