  1. I dont mind if Anet gives PvP some QoL but a full expansion focused on it? no thanks. Its nothing wrong enjoying pvp but a whole expansion centered around it would drive alot of people away, me included, while i can enjoy the occasional pvp/WvW, it definetly isnt something i focus on, nor want to invest into. Simply put, put in QoL for pvp in general but having a expansion centered around pvp would be a extremly bad business idea.
  2. i did a year ago, i know that it was heavily gated at the start but they nerfed it down the line. I have way too much time on my hands so thats why it took 3 days iirc
  3. To be honest the mount isnt that bad, it took me around 3 days in total to aquire it. Even if you play very casual im sure you can probably get the mount in 1-2 weeks. It have been shaved down alot compared to how it was at the start when it was released so now its even easier to get done than back then. My best advice would be to take it slow, its a luxury mount after all, it covers the use of 3 mounts but master of none, not to mention it barely costs anything. Take the gryphon, you have to shell out 250g for that one, skyscale i think it was like 24g or something? cant remember exactly. But to conclude, the skyscale is fine, just do it bit by bit and you will have it.
  4. Uhm i dont know about you but if you think GW2 story is bad, oh boy then i suggest you should take a look at Shadowlands. not to mention paying 15$/month for non rewarding content, toxic community and just bad game design all over the place. But anyhow to be more ontopic: I played throught most of the stories (just missing S3 and IBS to complete) and i personally did enjoy the core story for most part. (allthought S2 i had to bring a friend with me to not fall asleep from how sloggish that season was). But we are all different, some like story, some dont. i like story but i usually take it in my pace, its nice to learn a bit about stuff sometimes and alot is voice acted which makes it better aswell (FF14 have for example WAY too much text).
  5. now im fairly new to the game but as far as my experience have gone: raptor: piece of cake, do the intro and you get it Springer: easy to aquire once you get the long jump mastery on the raptor (which takes no time, just do events and youll lvl in no time) skimmer: easy to get aswell jackal: also very easy to aquire so for the 4 base mounts, all you need to do is do some events and lvl your masteries which honestly isnt a grind, even if you only play a hour per day. Beetle: this one takes a bit more time but definetly isnt anything bad in terms of grinding. Gryphon: havent unlocked it yet so cant comment on it, only roadblock on that one is the 250g cost but then again, doing daily fractals should net you some nice gold so its more a question of patience really. Besides, you are doing fine with just the 4 base mounts. Skyscale: This one is a long road yes, it takes time and its best done with doing a part at a time, its not suppsoed to be aquired easily, however, just doing some stuff every day and you most likely have the mount after a month.
  6. Now i havent been playing GW2 for that long (picked up the game last year) P2W in general means that power is locked behind a cash wall and cannot be earned any other way and that these powers are usually way stronger than what can be earned ingame, hence creating a incencitive to buy to be up to pair with others. GW2 store only have cosmetics and small QoL things that is by no means a nessecerity to buy (like the endless gathernig tools and waypoint unlocker), there is no power to be bought from the store and even the legendary weapons doesnt have more dmg than their "regular" counterpart. So in short, GW2 isnt P2W, never been, never will be. Hell you can even farm gold ingame and convert into gems to buy stuff so you can litterly get stuff for free pretty much as long as you grind enought gold for it.
  7. as a relatively new player to GW2 i wish i was told this way earlier. Orr was a bit of a pain (mostly beacuse the amount of mobs packed litterly everywhere) but it was atleast doable even if i never want to repeat that storyline again. Then i head into HoT since i didnt have the living world seasons and all i can say its not been a fun ride. Everything from HP being either 1 mile above or under you, or in a cave somewhere to mobs ripping you apart or knocking you off platforms. continue with the story and it doesnt really get any better when you get to the maze for example that 1 shots you if you arent quick enought. Dont get me wrong, i dont mind a challenge but HoT so far have been frustrating from start to finish, its not something i want to repeat again which is a shame beacuse i do like storybased games. but unless you play something with a personal tank like ranger or full plate armor with full exotics, its not going to be a fun experience. I dont expect to be powerful but HoT have taken it a bit too far sadly this have lead to im taking a break from the game beacuse i just get frustrated when im supposed to have fun. I know that i dont play perfect but the difficulty spike truly is off the charts if you compare it with the base game. Sorry for your experience. May I suggest asking for help in HoT maps? I've always had people respond and assist whenever I'm unable to accomplish something in those maps.i have a friend luckily helping me out and i got majority of the HP done after joining in on a train so as it looks right now im soon almost done with HoT story wise. never had issues finding people for events, for me the frustations lied in how unaccesable and hard it was to navigate and the extreme damage the mobs do to you. The difficulty spike between the base game and HoT is quite huge for a new player, even when in full exotic you struggle. so for future alts i most likely will skip HoT completly and start with PoF directly

Yes and if you think Orr now was a pain thats nothing compared how it was at release before the nerfs.Orr mostly bugged me beacuse the amount of mobs and most of the teleport waypoints being contested alot. In terms of difficulty i couldnt complain but wasnt fun to run from A to B and have a massive horde of undead after you wherever you went XD

  10. A partnership with steam is nessecerily not a bad deal, nor any indication of a game dying. All it will do is reach out to many more people since alot of people use steam and newer players joining the game is never anything bad. now i havent played for years like some have but from what ive understood this game is just getting bigger and bigger for each year so i believe the OP is making a hen out of a feather.
  11. That's more than a whole month of a sub based MMO. I disagree that it should be the default price for regular skin. from my experience it seems to be quite common standard for mount/mount skins in mmo's to sit around that price in general. It is a bit more than a regular sub but in the end its a "luxury" item so to speak, a cosmetic thing. its like buying a shirt or a lego set. how much would you say is a resonable price for mounts? considering the time it takes to actually put together a skin or even remodel it is fairly cheap as it already is.
