  1. Those players are often spies from enemy teams watching for commanders. Other times it's people running to the restroom, etc. If someone is flipping camps then they normally run to the next camp straight away and wait for RI to end.
  2. This guy is definitely hacking because he is able to move very quickly between places on the map. He moved from NEC to NC on our home borderland faster than we could use the waypoint and run straight up.
  3. He has been on for 3 days now. He is still logged on right now. We keep reporting him and nothing changes.
  4. My mistake, I had them the wrong way around. It was 6:30am UTC and 2:30pm UTC. You can get the times from http://gw2stats.com/servers/history/39
  5. What were the queues like on your server at the time? What were the queues like on Mag's server at the time? And even, what were the queues like on the third server at the time. If mag is queued on all 4 maps (which it is during US prime time), it will be almost impossible to take SMC unless both your server, and the third server have enough players to queue EBG. I keep telling people here, WvW is a numbers game, nothing else. Without numbers, the rest of the people on your server (or any other server for that matter) won't be able to flip SMC. So the people who log in during NA prime time won't have that opportunity. For your group, and the other groups that logged on during off hours, it's great, but for the people who only play during NA prime time, it's not. That's the whole flaw with the current weekly achievement setup. It requires that people be on competitive teams. If they aren't, they will be forced transfer to another team if they want a shot at the extra tickets and gold which encourages more bandwagoning.
  6. Maps have a limited number of people. Not everyone will get the capture.
  7. FA flipped SMC 3 times last week, 3 times the week before, and I didn't see any flips from this week. That's not exactly plenty of times. On 4 occasions that was at 6:30 pm UTC and the other 2 times were at around 2:30am UTC. Not all players are on at those times.
  8. No, I don't agree at all. I am a roamer and have no issues escaping zergs. Then again, I don't make a habit of lying in wait and ganking players either so perhaps that's the difference.
  9. That doesn't make sense. They linked YB (15th) with SoR (21st).
  10. The linking is completely broken. I am not sure what the end game of A/Net is here but if they want to drive people out of WvW then they are on the right track.
  11. Tryfan doesn't know. He/she is just guessing and trying to make it seem like that's not the case. Only A/Net knows how WvW populations are calculated.
  12. Your whole argument is based on what you think A/Net is doing where I am saying that we have no idea what system they use. The part where your argument falls down is because of these two facts: 1. We know that TC dropped 2 tiers in 2 weeks. One tier per week. 2. You claim that a ton of people transferred to Mag over a couple of weeks but the server stayed open. If the window we changed each week then it would not have stayed open for more than a week. So, either A/Net changed something or your theory about a ton of people transferring to Mag is just false. Finally, the population of the servers isn't taken into account, only the WvW population. We have absolutely no idea how A/Net calculates that population. Does someone going into WvW for 5 seconds trigger a WvW player or does it need 10 hours? They may even be taking into account the number of hours in WvW for each player. We have absolutely no idea and anything is just conjecture.
  13. You are the one with the conspiracy theories about all servers opening up so mag can have competition. You then quoted a person who is basically just guessing the system that A/Net use for populations and using that as your justification. All of this and I am the one trolling? Nobody outside of A/Net knows that system they use for determining activity on a server. They certainly aren't going to leave mag open for weeks and weeks while everyone transfers across there. They would have some sort of figures and, as an example, let 100 people transfer and then it becomes full. The person you quoted also said that A/Net opened Mag up a few weeks ago (not true, it was longer), and then, all of sudden there was a massive influx of people. The person then says that populations aren't calculated on a minute by minute basis and these things are only performed periodically. But the whole "everyone transferred to mag" story just doesn't work with any logic because Tarnished Coast changed twice over the last 2 weeks, first from full to very high, and again now from vert high to high. If everyone was "transferring to mag over the last few weeks" and the server populations were being calculated periodically then it would make sense that mag would have ended up full after a week because that's how long the population changes take place (using TC as an example). It's clear that A/Net have changed the metrics that they use for determining population. What changes were made, anyone can guess.
  14. It's a good thing that Tryfan.1457 knows exactly what the formula is when A/Net haven't told us the formula they used. But don't worry, take that as gospel if it makes you feel better.
  15. As much as you love patting yourself on the back. That's not what changed. Servers like Tarnished Coast have been full for months and dropped 2 tiers over the last 2 weeks. Servers that were very high have dropped to medium. Those servers aren't going to suddenly be "competition" for mag. This was more than likely caused by a change in metrics for how they measure active players in WvW.
  16. I am not sure but the last time we played mag, they had 5 spies on EBG so it would be better to ask them.
  17. Don't you mean that mag would stick one person on the other team that would take up a slot and call out the opposition team positions.
  18. If mag roamers are quality roamers then I must be absolutely amazing as a roamer because I often beat mag roamers 1 vs 1 and sometimes even 1 vs 2. Edit - just to add. I am not that good. Some of the best roamers I have encountered are on AR.
  19. Let me guess, you play on mag. Your lack of insight into the game mode is astounding. Miraculously, all of the good players picked Mag. But they weren't good a year back because Mag was stuck in T4. Back then they were just really bad players but now they are good because they decided to just be good. It's also amazing because 3 weeks back, SoS was on top and Mag was second for the week. So they didn't have the skill for that week and SoS had the skill but now they got their skill back and SoS lost their skill because they dropped down to T2.
  20. That happens on every server when they have numbers on. There is nothing special about mag. They don't miraculously have these "special" players that no other team has. I can call out for support on my server and will get a flood of people arrive. My server will push for a target for hours if need be until they finally capture it. The only difference is in numbers. A server that has more people online will beat servers that have less people online. That's the end of the story.
  21. It's not a skill gap. It never was. It's a numbers game. Did Mag suddenly go from terrible a year back when they were stuck in T4 to gud now that they are in T1? Were SoS amazing players when they held onto 1st place for a whole pairing 6 months ago and they now slumped into terribad mode? WvW has, and always will be about numbers. The side with more people logged on wins 99% of matches. Mag is loaded in NA with queues on most maps during peak NA times where the teams that they are playing against don't have any queues at all during peak NA time.
  22. That was obviously a mistake. I am used to other forums that only quote the selected text. I will update the comments to make more sense.
  23. It's not the players. The numbers on the servers are not balanced. Our server is outnumbered on almost all maps from NA time all the way through to the end of OCX time. We can scrounge up 20-30 players to defend one keep while blue is running with 3 x 50 man zergs in that same time space.
  24. The servers are no where near balanced. There is one balanced group of servers in the US, 2 groups with one server completely dominating (winning 50 out of 58 skirmishes), and 1 group with 2 servers completely demolishing the third server. In the EU, it's a similar picture. I group of servers is balanced and the other 4 are completely dominated by a single server. It's so bad that one of those groups have a single server winning 59 out of 62 skirmishes.
  25. You got lucky. This beta is an abomination. I am on a server (green) that is permanently outnumbered. The blue server has one second place and has won every other skirmish. They have numbers across all timezones where our server has 1 fight guild on for a couple of hours and a couple of small guild tags. The red server is strong for a few hours each day and dead the rest of the day. This isn't balance, it's a joke. If A/Net aren't going to look at player WvW online times then there isn't any point in these betas. I am not going to waste my time getting minimum pips hour after hour. If the rewards weren't so broken then it wouldn't be so bad. There is a reason why WvW is battling more and more for numbers. It's balance and rewards and nothing in the betas is showing me that is getting any better. They would have been be better off cramming everyone onto 9 server for the beta instead of wasting people's times. I would rather have a queue than get on any map I want and be perpetually jumped by zergs.
