AFK in WvW is BS especially when there is a queue
Graymatter.4723 replied to Goglak.2591's topic in World vs. World
The bigger issue here is some servers have troll accounts that they AFK on busy maps to keep the opposition numbers down. Sometimes it's useful to run into a wall if you need a BRB but it definitely gets abused. The issue is that you lose a 5 min tick if you go out and then back in again. This isn't an issue for maps that aren't full but if a map is full, there should be an option to report as Idle and if the person doesn't do anything for a more than 5-10minutes, then they should get kicked. -

Please add an option to legendary runes to change the runes for all of the slots that have a legendary rune equipped. There isn't any situation I can think of that needs mixed runes. -

AMD. As I said in an earlier comment, though, it's fast when I use my permanent trading post vendor. -

I think that part depends on the last vendor you used. If I use the vendor and then move away and try to sell something with "O". It's slow. If the last vendor I used was my personal one, it's fast again. -
Strafing shifted from QE to AD

Normally I am not pressing left and right at the same time so if I have to strafe at the same time as attacking, I press 1 and strafe right or 3 or 4 and strafe left. I can press 2 and mouse move if necessary. 5 is more difficult but I can strafe left and press that at the same time if I have to. Healing I have on R. 6-9 are a pain in the neck and normally require some hand movement. The elite happens seldom enough that I either move my hand or use the mouse for that one. -

I can change my keybinds in a heartbeat. A lot of other players are the same. Some players aren't great on PC's and generally don't like changing stuff. It's not the end of the world but it really shouldn't happen. This should absolutely have been picked up in QA and there are no excuses for that. -

Using A/D for strafing is much more difficult for people with motor issues. It's much easier to reach 1-5 with your fingers remaining over QWE than it is for you to keep your fingers on AWD and reach up. -

Who is AD turning? Most of us are people that use Q and E for strafing and mouse turn. -

You should never ever change something like this for existing account. Who in their right mind thought this was a good idea? Make it the default for new players, that's fine. Changing it for every single player in the game who hasn't changed their keybinds in absolutely dumb. -

It's not the map itself that is the problem, it's the vendor. I set up my person trading post about 10 feet away from the Armistice Bastion one. My one was perfect. Lightning fast. The Armistice Bastion one was dead slow. I returned between them about 3 times to test and it was the same. I also tested with DX11 enabled and disabled. The same thing. Edit: It may have something to do with the number of people using the TP vendor -

I had the same problem both times I tried in Armistice Bastion today. Switching to a different map solved the problem. It definitely looks like Armistice Bastion is the problem here. Once I switched to Mistlock Sanctuary and the other time to a regular map. I must test with my portable TP in Armistice Bastion to see if that behaves differently. -

I access the trading post from Armistice Bastion. Periodically it becomes extremely slow. You can't even click on anything. Everything else in the game is lightning fast and I have a ping of something like 90 but the trading post is just dead slow. -
Why am I matched with people on my Blocklist?
Graymatter.4723 replied to Satori.1978's topic in Player vs. Player
Unfortunately it would make the queuing close to impossible. If 5 people each have different people on their block list, you would have to find a way of mixing and matching people. The system queries to produce such a result would be horribly complex. -
The shortest game loss is about 7 minutes. That's a whitewash and excludes the warm up time waiting to start and the queue time. Add those and your minimum game time is about 10 minutes. more competitive games take between 12 and 14 minutes. Add in the start and queue times and you are looking at about 15-17 minutes. For the sake of round numbers, I will use the 15 minute time and assume that someone gets 1.5 pips for the close games. So, you can get 4 competitive games in 1 hour and 6 whitewashes in 1 hour. The afk will net the person 3 x 6 = 18 pips per hour. The 4 competitive games will also net the person 18 pips per hour but now you put bonus points for top stats and comeback wins on the table too which just don't exist for the afk option. The problem is that it's more worthwhile for a person to afk for pips than play when the loss is only going to get you 4 pips at best. Using the same formulas from above but with only the 80% bonus pip. The person afk'ing will get 18 pips per hour but competing will only net them 14 pips per hour. Obviously whitewash games won't take exactly 7 minutes but you get the point. It's either that or more severe punishment but more severe punishment involves more effort from the gm's.

Harb has very few cc breaks. It's not difficult to lock them down.

A spellbreaker can completely lock down a harb.

I am not really seeing a place that it could be exploited. It's still far more valuable to get a win (10 vs 5 for loss) and I would argue that the AFK people are far worse of a problem than one or two exploiters. Penalizing people for AFK'ing would help but that really needs everyone on the team to report or it could be abused. It also requires manpower to investigate or handle appeals. Adding pips is fully automated. I don't really see any other way of encouraging people to keep playing without using rewards and pips (aka shards) seems to be the reason most people play PVP from a reward standpoint. I have had this debate with people on reddit and the ones that AFK insist that it's better for them to just AFK because they lose quicker and can then join another match quicker.

At the moment, losing while getting 80% of the opposition's score will give you a bonus pip. The problem is that some players will AFK if they start losing. Adding a bonus pip for 60% and upping the bonus pips for a 80% loss to 2 pips would help to keep people competing. If you are 80-120 points behind, you can still compete to get 2 pips and if you are 180-220 points behind, there is still a chance for the extra pip so it's worth trying.

A single stealthed thief hiding in a keep can keep 5-10 enemy players busy while they try and find some way of revealing the thief. It's an incredibly OP ability.

I have full zerk ascended gear on my Minion Master. It's great for roaming in WvW. No minions means close to instant death. Switching to another build would mean that I more than likely need to get a condi setup. It's less than ideal. Now, if I knew that this was something that would be fixed in 2 months then I would make some other arrangement. If it was going to be fixed in 2 days, I would wait. No feedback means that I have no idea. I could go off now and spend 100g odd on a new setup and then find out that it's been fixed the next day. Communication helps. They don't have to say it will be ready on day xx. Some feedback like, this is a rather complex bug that we are working on so it will take a while to sort out. Rest assured, we are working on it. Would go a long way.
