  1. I assume "prior to midnight tonight" means by 11:59 PM PST (UTC -8), like other betas? Not all players have been here to participate in the prior beta tests to know this.
  2. Are you wanting a count for siege actually built, or does that include siege merely dropped on an enemy's corpse? 😉
  3. 1 day notice - players probably have to have their Guild and Team selections made by 11:59 pm Pacific time on Thursday, per usual (that's 8:59 PM EST or GMT-5, for those in other time zones). No word that I've seen whether the Team selection will actually be part of this Beta test, but I'd guess Guild Leaders should choose one and have everyone running with them choose that one, too, to be safe.
  4. Working as intended. Swords on your keep and WP disabled? Time to play "Was that a tap?" or "Is our Keep Under Attack?" and deploy scouts to check. If only actual siege damage put the keep in combat, how would small groups ever have a chance to sneak the objective? It would be obvious that there was siege somewhere on it, and the mapblobs would come running.
  5. I agree that healers in WvW get the very short end of the stick. I started playing heal scrapper over a year and a half ago, and finally gave it up after about a year because it was so very unrewarding. I, too, need bags for the mats in them for making legendaries, thanks. I shouldn't have to go grind PvE for hours to get mats because I chose to support my team in the only mode I want to play 99% of the time. How hard would it be to add a small AoE damage amount to heal skills, to even out the playing field for players in all roles?
  6. Unless map caps are increased (and perhaps even if they are), we really need an additional map, not an alternate map. With the influx of new players from Steam (also, and prior to that, folks that returned due to the expac/pending World Restructuring/etc.) the queues keep players from participating on Reset, or even random weeknights during prime-time. Not exactly conducive to keeping new or returning players coming back for more. Either a 2nd map like EBG, or a modified EotM with war score implemented and instancing removed. Right now there is no benefit to a guild squad that can't get all their folks into maps moving their squad to EotM so they can play together - there are no fights, it's not really WvW, etc. That pretty much leaves scrims in the arena, which while fun for a short time, isn't the same as WvW. on Reset Night. With the state of linked servers, where it's a crap shoot as to whether the server you're linked with is cooperative when it comes to trying to coordinate spreading squads out to fit onto maps, or whether they will just go with the "screw you" mentality and overload maps because they have multiple "map-queue" squads. Some links have to designate guilds to sit out Reset night, or play with a late start... this shouldn't even have to be a thing, if ANet put any real thought and effort into how to keep folks coming back for more when it comes to WvW. The guilds I've played with over the last 9 years have always been out there on Reset Night, and it's a BFD. Dampening that because of 1-2 hour-long queues making folks feel frustrated, left out, etc. because they can only get a portion of their squad into WvW.... is also not conducive to keeping players (or guilds) around. Yes, Restructuring is coming, but who knows which year, and, c'mon... we need some love in WvW right now, and I don't mean nerfing builds. Folks need to be able to get their guild squads out into the Mists.

  8. I have heard of many guilds that are merging into a new guild to be their WvW guild for the Phase 1 Beta, so they can stay together for the week and/or test their alliance membership. Is this going to affect your overall data-gathering, with folks trying to create their alliances before you're even testing alliances in matchmaking?
