  1. Now I have like 35 alts and ran Rangers, Mesmer, and Revenants through this without an issues. Got my Daredevil set up earlier, and was having a blast in the Drakkar battles, up until the the change to scattered mobs with Jhavi, the Daredevil skills stopped - totally. Could not swap weapons, not could use any skills 6 through 10 either. Ping was okay. I run a ping to the main router to keep signal going well, and monitored. Also have Task Manager up to kill background apps closed. Once in a while the OS likes to load tasks and I kill those processes. But none of them were loaded. Everything was good, 230 ping. Yet I could not use any skills or attacks. So I went to character select and back, got into map, and things were good up until the second half. Everything stopped again.Could run around, went to the green circles, and those seemed to reset whatever was going on. Then towards the ending it happened again.! /grr Ran around looking like I was doing something, hit a green circle and a few seconds later my attacks came back up. Hopped over, use Dagger Storm, and Drakkar died. Got chests, no ascended boxes on any alts yet. Never experienced this issue on any other alts. So what did y'all do to Daredevil??
  2. Aye, "C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2-64.exe" –repair Also, delete your temporary files. Glary Utilities is good for that, though I tend to remove more myself. And of you're not running an SSDD, then by all means, DEFRAGMENT your main and game drives and/or partitions. Use Task Manage to close TaskEng & TaskHost from running in the background. Other stuff can be closed down if you know your computer.
  3. Joarmag has whispers beyond the Mists to bring ol' Dragon Jerky back? LOL
  4. Had a map with a good turnout, too. Finished one champion through the Raven Portal, Exited, was fighting Drakakr some more and the game was lagging/ The lag was getting horribly worse, then seems like my character stopped responding. Opening Task Manager to see what was going on - to stop taskeng or taskhost events. Was clean. Ping to router was fine. Was already running Performance in graphics. Then got booted, client lost contact with server nonsense. Internet connection was good, ping was really good. Puzzled. Logged back in, was still in the raid group, but in a different map. Could not get over to the map I was on. Stayed in the raid though. At the end of the raid I was able to swap over - not one chest was awarded. Got nothing for getting booted. Sucks, but what can ya do? Personally I think eevery character should have a placeholder added when they get disconnected for whatever reason, and leave that placeholder open for ten or fifteen minutes. Keeps others from hopping in at the last moment. Then if you get logged back on in time, your placeholder will poof once your character gets into that instance/map. So I concur.
  5. Seen the event pop, gold circle with the gold X. Got there and the totem was not even built, no mobs around it. /boggle
  6. Bought the Glacial Harvesting Tool. Removed the Glyph of Virtue, stuck it into a Skyscale Hatchling Mining Tool. Was out and about Bjora Marches harvesting various mining nodes and Eternal Ice Shards and that was working, though 1 to 4 Karma per strike? 1,000 gems for a pitiful amount of Karma should of been added to the text, as seems to be a waste for a glyph - and probably would not be so misleading. In any case, when I was mining 8 different nodes in the Norn Home Instance, I could see the 1 to 4 Karma points on each strike, however the Inventory screen did not show any increase what-so-ever. Closed the Inventory screen, opened it back up, was still at 158,809 Karma. Exited the Home Instance, came back in, harvested other the Eternal Ice Shard node, same thing, no pittance of Karma was added to the Inventory screen while inside the (Norn) Home Instance. Exiting did not increase the number either. Seems to not be working inside the Norn Home Instance - unsure about other Home instances cause just got it today. While most players I've chatted with think Karma is not worth anything. I happen to be more of a solo player in a tiny guild, and work two jobs. Can only get online around midnight or so. For me & my 39 other characters Karma is used quite a bit for armor and decent weapons - up until I can make ascended weapons. Others think VM is King, yet I rarely even use it. But that's their thing, I am not them. Got the Glacial Harvesting Tool for its Glyph of Virtue hoping it could help increase Karma. Especially in Bjora Marches, that map does not offer much Karma compared to other maps. Drakkar's karma is bad. Get more karma from Claw of Jormag. Personally would rather seen 10 to 20 karma per strike, especially since the item has to be purchased. 1 to 4 is rather stingy, something I could see Daybreak Games doing in comparison. Does the VM tools only give 1 to 5 per strike too? BK
  7. PS: Gorrik was no where to be found in the last story instance. The bugger wondered off to parts unknown. This game sorely lacks the ability to "/target NPCName" i.e. "/target Gorrik or something
  8. Not sure if I'm missing something, and do not want to start a new thread. Blish said to run, so was running (Ranger) with horn. Thought perhaps there was some sort of achievement or advancement on grabbing the volatile magic. Missed one, went back for it, died. Restarted from last check point, tried this again but got on a Jackal. Did okay, was following the long green arrows, next thing I know am bring blown back by some fierce wind. Was looking for indicators as what to do, or a counter-magic icon. Kept leaping forward on Jackal but was instead being blown back - then died. (?) Restarted from last checkpoint. This time am in the sky on broken floating islands. Was flying on griffon and following the volatile magic left by Glint's ghost (I suppose) and this purple wall was moving faster than I was. Was no arrows or star as to where to go, saw no indication as which was to proceed. Kept dying, restarting from last checkpoint, and gave up on the volatile magic and instead flew straight. The mini map showed nothing but a white- grey texture. Occasionally void rifts would try to suck me in, but kept flapping away. Got ahead quite way to where there was literally nothing there. The wall was on both sides of me and I was trying to keep ahead of it. After some time I died.Restarted from checkpoint. Took me a few tries of flying out to nothingness when I realized the small exit green indicator was behind me. (!) And so was that purple mass wall. So escaped, and seems to have completed this episode. What I don't get is we are supposed to protect Blish while these purple branded cones come down. Past experience knows that these would drop over you and freeze you until you, another player, or pet breaks you free. So am dancing around and cannot target a one - only the occasional enemy spawns. Blish says to run, and the green arrow spawns. Okay, why is there no mention that "perhaps I should get the raptor out" while running. Okay, maybe some instances allow mounts, others do not, and most do not allow gliding. Not knowing what sort of instance you're in leaping onto a mount might not be the first thing to come to a player's mount, as many times when wanting to glide you'll end of falling to your death instead. Okay, so the player is rushing out of the way, not knowing what lies ahead. What is SUPPOSED to happen when being blown back occurs. How does one stay alive? Am assuming the wind blows and the land rips apart, and become floating islands? So you're hopping these islands on a raptor, jackal, or griffon with no indication as to where you're going - and most of us are not going to look behind us to see there's a great purple wall of destruction on your tail. (Mounts do not have rear view mirrors.) So what is supposed to go on? Hopping around the floating islands, often missing one by a lip, and then when you do death comes quicker. If you get lucky and take the ramp of rocks to the left, you still have to go horizontally unless on a griffon. Yet there is no indicator as to what objective or spot you're evading to. And a few of us do not have the top of the line computer, and on wireless, and there's a tad bit of lag. The game does not care if the player has lag, as it will continue instead of adjust - and the player ends up losing an achievement for dying.Would like to see a movie of what the various transitions are, so I can see what I am missing here. Thanks.¬ Karman
  9. I was having an issue with Victory or Death and sent in a ticket. Took a week to get a helpful reply that appears to also help with jackal sand portals ... however I still get the Network Disconnected error at times. "Click the Start Menu and search for Notepad.exe.When you find it, RIGHT-CLICK on it and select "Run as Administrator".Click "Yes" to let it run as Admin. You have to run it as admin because you'll be modifying a file which only the admin account can modify. In Notepad, click File->Open and browse to your System32 directory. On Windows this is at "C:\Windows\System32". Within the System32 directory is a directory called "drivers". In that directory is another one called "etc". Within that directory is a file named "hosts". Select that file to open. (Note that you may need to change the setting within the "Open File" window to have it show "All Files" instead of just text files. After opening the file, add this at the bottom, exactly as shown: 174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com type or pasted into that note. Or if you have it in the host file already, then just reverse what I said and delete the "174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com" line. PS: If "174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com" doesn't work, then replace the 101 to a 102/103. I would personally recommend 102 first it seems to help alot of people. Regards,GM Nasser" 102 seems to be working better than 101.
