  1. ive dced and have come back to finish the game regardless of whether I would win or not. It used to be that sometimes when this happened i would not be stuck with a dishonor and not have to wait to play again. Now what's happening is that even after I disconnect I will always get penalized regardless of whether I my team wins or not. This was not always the case if I could rejoin quickly enough in the past i would quite often suffer no penalty. (As an aside someone can park their toon in a match and get no penalty whatsoever.) The DCs seems to be more frequent now as I see more of these 4v5 matches and since each player will not be playing for a while, the number of players in the pool shrinks. Anets solution to the problem is actually making things worse. At any rate, playing a game out when the odds are against you should be considered good training.
  2. Yeah I think you may have missed the use of the quotation marks when I referred to the "class" in the wintersday event. Class stacking would correct itself if one class wasn't so OP that having more than one on a team would not favor a team so heavily. So having a team with more than one necro (because that's what we are talking about) would not be that big of a deal.
  3. well, i did enjoy the wintersday pvp quite a bit and it had 3 "classes" in it. Additionally each true class was able to bring in a skill unique to that class, there were limited skills for each "class" and you had a choice at the beginning of which type you would play. The point is that not only can balance be done in this game...it has been done. Class stacking would not be an issue IF they regulated which skills were brought in with each season. You could change the build with each season and assure balance each and every time. You could make adjustments too as needed when there was a mistake made if you limited the builds each class had.
  4. Yeah it was tough to balance and one solution would have been to simply have fewer skills rather than the system that produces nothing but the cookie cutter builds in GW2 now. Having an energy/mana management system might also have been nice too. The way I look at it is that GW2 was designed after the beginning of the Great Recession and labor costs were maybe factored in a little too much. The end result that too many corners were cut to make the game what it could have been. I bought the game when it was first released, played it for a few days then stopped for eight years until pandemic idleness prompted me to start playing again. My entire GW1 guild disappeared from GW2 because it was so disappointing to them, The game is just not what they wanted it to be. I hope Colin et al can recover some of the spirit marketing acumen that marked the original Guild Wars game by making it a game that they would actually want to play themselves.
  5. I'll just say this, there's a lot of cheating right now and anet is taking action. its just not effective action, the pool is shrinking for PvP and it shows with the lopsided games that are occurring more frequently.
  6. Yeah there is no balance, despite being given a choice of multiple classes for your free download, you really have only 3 choices : Necro, Mesmer and Guardian with the latter 2 having something of a learning curve involved, And despite having a choice of 5 races in pvp you really should consider an Asura and make it as short as possible. Targeting issues in this game give them a slight advantage in pvp since tab targeting is pretty iffy and mouse targeting is sluggish at best,
  7. Or the fact that it creates an imbalance just with the numbers. Just give that type of build one minion in PvP or give every class a simple balance with 5 minions of one sort or another. A ranger with 5 pets maybe? Why not? an engineer with 5 golems or an ele with 5 elementals etc etc This is just an example of how poorly thought out this game is. The game has been broken since its inception.
  8. The fundamental problem affects PvE as well. The game is just unbalanced with regard to classes. You won't see much demand in raids or strikes for non-power classes. If the game was balanced then you would not see long wait times in the queue for PvP as there is very limited interest in playing a game where your favorite toon has almost no chance to compete. The game was broken from the start when they did everything to make it NOT Guild Wars 1.
