  1. Anet, you're losing players by these decisions. I've watched other MMO's crash and burn through such stupidity. Really hate to see the gam go that way.
  2. Which is matt's traceroute (mtr). Was wondering that as well. Now another reason to get arcdps.
  3. Seems to have resolved itself. The Windows machine was evidently bogging, with this the only task. Bad programming, I think.
  4. Time is off: game reports a time 20 mins later than PC. I update my PC time daily, so it doesn;t drift that much. This am, PC said 10:19; GW2 in-game clock said 10;37.
  5. Finally made it thru "old Friends." I do think the mission needed a bit more testing, because therer really isn't much guidance on which ships to jump to and when. Also, there weren't any targeting circles for prismatic leap. NONE.Now on Chapter 2. What a hassle that was.
  6. I'm not giving up. No way. However, it does indicate a certain lack of attention to detail, that these very serious bugs weren't found and squashed before launch. I have the same problem; stuck with no way to another ship. leapt to the platform with a star over it, and now no more stars, but the story indicates there should be one. Logged out for now; at least they allowed a way to get back into the mission with some ease. And I agree it's not a good feeling.
  7. Not much help, but a little. unfortunately, those floating platforms can't be repositioned, there's no control panel for them. Some of the ship control panels are not accessible, either, and some ships are too far to jump to. And the star disappears, so where to go then? Really need more help on this; already submitted a bug report for the mission (it has quite a few bugs).
  8. Haven't managed to leap that far; it seems to be stuck. Otoh, it could be server lag causing all the issues. Entire update is downloaded, and that cured most of my issues with Prismatic Leap, but the Mission seems stuck and it's not allowing progress. This mission needed better testing; we don't all live within 50 milliseconds of the server. But, thanks for the warning. Mari
  9. keystrokr just takes me off the side of the ship OR jumping in place. still doesn t work.
  10. I'd like to see an entire map using underwater content. It changes everything. But don't have much hope of that.
  11. But in a game, it may be true that A+B=x+y, but if A>>x or B>>y, then x+y has a lower perceived cost (in-game), so that will be the chosen path by many rational players, will it not? Each choice has a value of 10, true, but to get to 10, first you have to get 9 vs getting 3, or to get 7 vs, getting 1.Which is easier? Time and material costs matter, so the end results nay be the same, but the paths to them are not equivalent, nor are they equal. Are they balanced? No, in one sense, and yes, in another. You're looking at the aggregate equations, like fluid dynamics or thermodynamics, but in either one, the path taken by the individual matters. And in the case of an intelligent agent, it will see costs differently for each path, even though the aggregate cost of each may be the same. I'm not explaining this very well, but I hope you understand the idea.
