  1. They don't. Interrupt their heal. Interrupt their combo finishers in their water field if you miss the intterrupt on their heal. Easier said than done considering you can expect a holosmith to both be covered by Stability a majority of the time and/or do it while quickness boosted, or while dropping a quickness boosted Toss Elixir S, then doing it. But seriously, I've done the math. Healing Turret is heads and shoulders above almost every healing outside of extremely situational healing skills like Herald's Infuse Light and Warrior's Defensive Stance even before they start comboing into the field with other skills. They get stab when they land holo 3 and when casting elixer u. Two sources, one of which you can prevent entirely by not getting hit by that particular skill. You sound the same as every person endlessly complaining about spellbreaker, mirage, holo, condi thief, etc, etc, etc. Here are the reasons pretty much everyone in here can't beat a holo. 1) Your build is bad.Solution: find the best player for your class and use their build.2) You don't understand how holo really works.Solution: play holo for a few weeks and learn the class.3) The holo player is better than you mechanically.Solution: put forth serious effort to improve your basic mechanics. If your build is good, if you know how the other class works, and if you are better than the other player you will beat them.

  3. Exactly. Again, Holo's not that hard to counter. I need not remind players that some classes have virtually 8 seconds of block/evade, all while retaining their damage.Guardian is the most suited class to take down a Holo, whether it be through the afforemented retal and stab, that this particularly class can put out very frequently, or through some high range and trap damage that you can get through Dragon Hunter. Holo is -not- a tough class. It's a glass cannon, if you destabilize a holo's Momentum, they're dead meat. Engineer doesn't have that much to offer, especially now that Scrapper has been completely destroyed. Guardian has a grand total of one skill with stab. It has 36 sec cd. No No? What access do they have on their "meta" build outside of traited f3?> @Naxos.2503 said: Exactly. Again, Holo's not that hard to counter. Firebrand has more options on that front with tomes, and Dragon Hunter has one additional Stab. It also has traits that triggers it. Yes, core has stab through traits. DH has it on passive. And fb has it in plenty of ways. Guardian does not.You never said meta build. And if you mean the response to the post above that build is a DH. Regardless, you have stab and stunbreaks on core guardian, but if you really want to kill holos, play a firebrand.

  5. There is literally a slider for camera rotation speed???
  6. Rotate your camera slightly before using about face. I think this is related to the reset your camera makes to center your view behind your character. Taking control of your camera by moving it before the about face seems to work. Also seriously consider using free camera if you use about face. It reduces the occurrence of this in my experience.
  7. Isn't it funny how to beat holo you just have to 'outskill' them meanwhile holo just plays normally lol. Will there be a day where holo needs to outskill other people aside mirror match scenarios? I didn't say that. I am 100% confident that each class can hit top 25 in both EU and NA on some build. It might not be your build, but the potential is there. If you think holo is OP, you are ignoring the elephant in the room, which is that other players aren't having the trouble you are. Figure out why first. What is valid is: Balance of classes at high tiers of pvp. For example if top 10 was 50% holos or some class had no representation in top 25. Matchup balance of fun. Is fighting a holo fun? How about a staff dd? Fire weaver? Why? This imo is the true balance problem. At the end of the day, the players on strong classes will rise in ranks, leaving you only to face the weaker players of those classes. Therefore the balance isn't affecting you until you push into the highest tiers of pvp. Regardless of this though, it is painfully obvious nothing is going to change in the near future. You should get used to the new world order.
  8. Literally every class can beat holo if you outskill them. Holo beats you if you get outskilled or play a bad build. FB (sage fb)Spellbreaker (standard meta build)Rev (meta build / whoever gets the drop wins)Scourge (standard build / have to kite and los to win)Ele (fire weaver)Mes (generic infinite horizon condi builds)Thief (condi / admittedly touchy)Ranger (glass cannon soulbeat / whoever gets the drop wins)Holo (mirror) Maybe you can complain if the holo switches their build to hard counter you, but otherwise you just have to: 1) Play a good build2) Play it well
  9. It's a shame NA and EU never went head to head on the WvW side of the game. Would've been interesting to see how Blackgate, undisputed in NA, measures up vs the top EU servers. Redguard transferred over one week and destroyed everyone in na.
  10. What trais/ultilities does one swap to become (rifle turret holo) instead of the listed metabattles (elixer rifle holo)? Drop elixer s for rifle turret. Take protection injection. Then you have some optional variations.Mortar kit and resistance rune (optional seeker rune)Prime light beam and leadership Vent exhaust vs the 3x heat bar trait. Your goal is push as much damage as possible out without becoming too glassy to survive. What about taking static discharge?Yeah do that, other options are pretty bad.

  12. You have a few approaches. You can go with a superior 1v1er who plays a build that can 1v2. Then you pair it with a good tanky teamfighter that can stall to buy time for the side noder. In that setup it is absolutely unacceptable for your 1v1er to die in a 1v1. Dying in a 1v2 is also bad depending on low long it takes The other approach is to put two big damage high mobility classes together and kill quickly. Here you want to have your allies take the side points and caps as you and your partner kill extremely quickly and snowball the map. This comp you want players who can do 30-40% of team damage solo reliably. Any less and you won't be generating the momentum you need. First comp think stuff like:Staff thief + Blood scourge Second think stuff like:Rev + Holo (rifle turret)
  13. So punishing people for playing well is a good idea to you? It is not a punishment, it is enforcing the most even field anet can at the highest tier of the leaderboard. In NA this would affect all of 20 players (more like 10 if you remove alts). The secondary problem is their duo affects matches of lower rated players. If you aren't one of those 20 then you aren't affected. Of course you can have it your way and then go right back to complaining about getting destroyed by high tier duos at 5am in the morning. Sorry, but it looks like Anet Ben P disagrees with you.Re: the matchmaker not keeping high rated players in queue longer: The reward for getting better at the game can't be, "You don't get to play anymore."Re: Duo queue - We thought about this for a long time. In the end, we decided it's just not fun to not be able to play with your friends. Additionally, removing a feature is a poor reward for getting better at the game. It also motivated all sorts of bad behavior, which I won't go into. He specifically stated that removing duo que for high rated players was a punishment, shouldn't have happened, and encouraged match manipulation. :^)And the wise decisions of Anet keep the scene as healthy as ever... Not really advocating for change though, I'm checked out and don't know why I'm here.

  15. If you arent pushing p3 solo queue, then you being duo queue is no problem. Easiest fix is just limit duo queue to everyone under p3 (NA). The most competitive solo queue players hit that rank solo, so you'll have fair competition for the high ranks.
  16. Holo 3 grants stab if it lands. Avoid both damage ticks. Shiro strip or annulment strip the stab from their elixer. Attempt to CC their heal. Even if you are late cc anyways to interrupt combo finishers in the water field. Avoid the second cast to photon wall. 2v1ing can be very effective. Apply condis when holo leaves holo form. Apply them when they enter holo form if they run mortar kit, but only for the first 2 seconds or so. CC a vent exhaust holo when he reaches high heat. And the usual, don't eat damage, count dodges, watch stab etc etc.
  17. Every class, but mostly 1 build per class. 1) Keeps the game fresh.2) Lets you learn how enemy builds play so you can counter them effectively.3) Performing as well as possible requires jumping on the bandwagon. Also ego. Ever see someone and think: "That spec is so brain dead I could hit (rank) on it it in (x) games."?
  18. resumen: my class isnt enought OP, i want it more OP Yes, because having a useless trait is somehow OP. I want to know how you went through that line of logic.Infrared Emission is only a group Fire Aura - Elementalists do that and yet I do not see complains from you about that. Basilisk Venom is too strong IMO, and there are a number of other group add-ons that are way stronger than this - and think about this, this is not Vent Exhaust or Enhanced Heat Capacity - so it ends up being quite balanced. I addressed it: Coolant Blast/Cauterize IS NOT used enough. In any game mode. It needs a buff, respectively. Power Wrench needs a nerf because of how individuals have been using it to obtain Prime Light Beam every 30 seconds (too strong) and because people can combine it with mortar kit to get out of Photon Forge early and not get punished for having high heat levels for too long. That's a nerf that makes the class less strong, so I really do not understand how you're interpreting this as a buff. Elixir R/Toss Elixir R are NEVER used in any game mode because of their excessively long rewards for little gain. Their cooldowns need to be decreased. For the record, leaving photon forge with a mortar kit swap doesn't trigger the condi clear trait, so its actually a bad idea to do this unless you take something like resistance runes. The idea was never a condition clear, the idea was that users in 80% or higher heat range that Re-Engage Photon Forge aren't punished nearly enough when using Power Wrench while wielding Mortar Kit. That's all the point there was to it.There is absolutely no reason to nerf power wrench because of that. Anyone taking power wrench to drop holo form to avoid overheat will be forced to dodge to proc power wrench. They will probably also have vent exhaust, so the dodge to make their mortar kit CD available will also remove heat and stop them from overheating. It will literally achieve nothing. If you want to look at holo to nerf it, look at kinetic battery or anticorrosive plating. I do agree on PBM being useless now and needing change.

  20. How is spellbreaker unkillable? It loses to mesmer, weaver, deadeye for sure and can lose easily to holo, necro, and probably both staff and condi dd. Its may not be meta yet but look at oldschool aurashare ele. Its kit is very strong in this meta. Equal to FB imo.
  21. Just pm someone and ask. Fb advice is:1) Do not face tank damage. Don't die on point to get those few extra ticks. Surviving at all costs is your most important task. Survive so you can keep supporting. 2) Kite better, jumping puzzles, pillars etc. Time you force people to jump up a cliff is time you aren't taking damage. 3) Understand the incoming damage and suppress it. You need to make snap decisons on specific skills to block/blind/etc. The right decision can negate more damage than you can heal. Some examples: dagger storm - shield 5Rev shiro heal: courage reflectRev shiro leap: weakness mantraRev sword 3: interrupt with double tap shield 5Necro torch knockdown: aegis mantraMagebane tether on ally: stab mantraAnd so on... Also you are support not a bunker. Again. You are a support. Not a bunker.
  22. why is mesmer on top of your list? ah yeah..Bias... ??? The list is in no particular order... I multiclass and have no main. I have nothing to lose if a spec gets nerfed because I'll bandwagon onto whatever is strongest. This season on various alts:Mirage - p3 naHolo - p3 na | p3 euWeaver - p2 na (few games though, super boring spec to play)Deadeye - haven't played yet, but intend to I honestly believe all of these builds are busted, and I will abuse them in ranked until they're nerfed. Also common to all is that they remained untouched despite being top tier pre patch.
  23. Give it a week or two to settle down. Best guess though:MirageHoloDeadeyeWeaver Other specs will still be useful but these will stand out I think.
