I think you are a bit overly dramatic here. Nothing terrible will happen to me. I'll keep on playing the content I have already paid for which is still one and a half expansions to go and instead of purchasing SotO I'll move on to one of the many, many other great games out there, that don't treat me like crap.

Why would I foot the cost when they created the mess? That would be beyond ridiculous. And if they don't have the proper tools to sort this out with a few clicks (which I doubt) there is really only one solution: Give ALL players credit for completion. Anyway: I filled a support ticket and sadly only got very unhelpful automated responses. It is incomprehensible to me why Arenanet seems to be hell-bent to add insult to injury by refusing to do the most natural thing in the world. Maybe because this isn't a subscription game they don't see the immediate financial backlash (because this would be cancelled by now) but if they think I'll make future purchases from a company that acted openly hostile towards me, the are sorely mistaken...

I already did it and certainly won't do it again. I'm not asking for much here, it doesn't cost them money or anything. If they don't lift a finger to minimize the negative impact of the bugs zhey are responsible for I certainly don't lift my credit card for them any more, that much should be obvious...

Guild Wars 3 - Ideas [Merged]
Padrion.7382 replied to DreamyAbaddon.3265's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
This would really only make sense if the Guild Wars universe had a huge fanbase like Star Wars used to have. As it stands the lore isn't a huge selling point for the active players let alone anyone outside. It's not like, let's say a Warhammer 40k game where you can count on people buying it just because it is 40k. So if anyone wanted to make that game you have in mind it would make much more sense to create a new IP that fits that kind of game perfectly instead of carrying over all that baggage from 2 previous installments. -
GW2 has serious design flaws
Padrion.7382 replied to Avind De Maros.7306's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
So to sum it up, a completely optional task in a game that you arguably finished years ago is still desirable enough for you to socialize with a friend in order to work out a solution together? Must be a very special game then... -
Why does GW2 use less of my computer?

Unfortunately not every application is coded in a way that it can make full use of all your CPU-Cores and RAM. I'm pretty sure your hardware is not the bottleneck here. -
What is the best value way to get season 2 onwards
Padrion.7382 replied to Sirico.6785's topic in Players Helping Players
The best value would probably be to buy them with gold converted to gems and wait for a discount. However, I'd say they are the only item in the gem store that is worth actual money, as you get real content in exchange. And while Season 2 isn't all that great IMHO, Season 3 is almost on the level of a full expansion. -
Sure, no need to save it for later IMHO. Leveling is super smooth and with birthday scrolls, tomes of knowledge and the like I could insta-level 10+ characters to 80 anytime if I wanted to.

Please, help a casual noob understand the endgame

If enough players are on the map they are usually very easy and it doesn't matter whether you contribute or not. Of course it is more fun to actually contribute. Usually it is enough to read the on screen instructions and do what other players are doing but some are a little more complicated like the jungle worn at Bloodtide Coast. In case you didn't knew, the wiki has a super useful event timer page: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Event_timers If you're doing those events in the evening hours best be 5 minutes early on the respective map. Else it might be full and you end up in a low populated instance. Also if there is a commander tag on the map you can right-click on them to invite yourself to their squad (optional but you can see fellow squad members on the mini map now).
