  1. Indeed. It can very well have a high tax/risk, just the damage needs to be worth it. Its damage output should certainly not mirror its self inflicted damage though. It needs to be higher.
  2. I agree. From what I saw, the swords seem quite laughable. I saw screenshots of you doing more damage to yourself than to the enemy. 😄 In the end, I hope swords will be just as awesome as powerful as all other classes weapon will hopefully be, and that all 3 Elite specs can draw value from it.
  3. I love Harbinger the most, even though it does not feel so necromantic, and perhaps for that reason. It feels more like a mage and spellslinger; something GW2 dearly lacks. I understand why Reaper is so beloved, and I think aesthethics and fantasy is a major part for many people. Judging by the fashion. However, I think it already is a very overplayed spec that gets catered to more than enough. Which is why I would like to see new weapon choices to synergize a bit better with Harbinger and Scourge, instead of only being tailored around Reaper's kit.
  4. It is sometimes disheartening to see how all Necromancer discussions everywhere seem to center around whether x is good or bad for Reaper. No one wastes a syllable on the other specs and what could be good or bad for them. Like everything Anet does has to cater to Reaper and only Reaper.
  5. Does Blight add some invisible damage I am unaware of? People always say how Blight increases your damage, even though it does nothing but reducing my HP. I could get up to 12.5% damage from the first passive, but that won't transform 3k damage into 11k+. I'm still learning Harbinger. 🙂
  6. So I heard about this Elixir one shot/high damage. I don't understand how this might be possible, because the Elite Elixir has a Power modifier of 0.9. I suppose double that with high blight stacks. Which is still pretty small. You couldn't possibly stack enough Power for this to deal more than a few k crit, or?
  7. He is not wrong. Yes, Necromancer, or Harbinger in that case, can tank for days, but it also takes days to kill anyone. Harbinger does not have crazy burst or even much pressure if you run such a build. As far as I see it, it's mainly threatening to newer players like myself, who don't know the importance or existence of condi cleanses. 😄 I just love how the traits of Necro/Harb synergize so well; something I'd like to see for more classes.
  8. Nerfing happens way too much in this game as is. For a game this old, it's super weird. Weirder even, that they still seem to make so many balancing mistakes that require nerfing afterwards. (At least in Anet's opinion) Making more specs and builds powerful, enjoyable, approachable should be the path of choice.
  9. Good points. I knew about the worm, but in general open world play, the minions feel severly lacking to me. Particularly compared to other "pet classes." I think some love isn't unreasonable.
  10. I finally got around to playing Necromancer myself, and I can confirm that the Necromancer minions are by far the worst pets in the game. I went in with the expectation of Necromancer being the summoner class, only to find that the minions deal no damage, die comically quickly, and provide no buffs. 🙂 Elementalist's summons are a pure gimmick, but they feel incredibly useful and interactive. Fire for damage/aoe and might stacking and earth for infinite Champion enemy tanking. Elementalist pets feel extremely good. Ranger's pets are highly interactive and powerful for all roles imaginable, and they just had a huge overhaul. Necromancer pets aren't even underpowered; they are useless and a waste of utility slots as soon as you leave Queensdale. 😄 I hope they will get the same overhaul or buffs. The flesh golem should at least be tanky, and the other minions should at least have some interesting active abilities and DPS above meme level.
  11. I don't know, I'm just a pleb, but I find Thief's ranged damage underwhelming even on a full damage setup. It pales utterly compared to what Mesmer, Ranger and even Guardian with longbow can do. They can indeed 100 to 0 you in a fracture of a second with no telegraph, no reaction possible, and they will still be able to put up a formidable fight after that burst. Especially Mesmer. Thief can only chunk you down with several spaced out hits. After which time you must ask yourself, why you did not dodge or react in another way.
  12. As long as I will be a gun wielding light priest bringing retribution to heretics in the end, all is good.
  13. Forgive me for assuming. It was bold. This just seemed like a glaring oversight that player reports surely made them aware of immediately.
  14. From where suddenly come all these ranger one shot builds? The turtle I understand, but why does this one do so much condition damage? From where?
  15. How terrified should we be that they did not even fix the 15 seconds cooldown on that one skill in the patch a few days ago? Or did they?
