If warrior's spear was bloated, what's guard's spear? 💀
WingSwipe.3084 replied to Zekent.3652's topic in Player vs. Player
At this point its obvious that things aren't going to change with the current balance and dev team, its a bad joke wrapped in pure nepotism and incompetence. Anyone who stays better just strap in for the ride of a guard and necro meta for the rest of the year, balance preview has made that glaringly obvious. -

Willbender was 100% overperforming before spear. Spear is also super strong on Dragonhunter. -
Oh, oh it just clicked. They are just kittening with us.

Ive been doing some theory crafting recently and taking the new buffs into account, this might get very rough for anyone not playing SPB. Sun and Moon Style: This trait now heals for a percentage of all strike damage instead of only critical hit damage. Wastrel's Ruin: This skill now always inflicts its bonuses against defiant enemies. Increased the maximum number of targets from 1 to 2. Bladestorm: Increased the barrier per hit from 289 to 445. "To the Limit!": Increased the endurance gain from 50 to 100 in PvE and from 65 to 100 in PvP. This is a Relic of Zakiros built into a baseline mechanic. As good as Loss Aversion is for PvP builds, this is probably taking the cake just for the durability increase alone. Just fighting with a dagger/dagger+Hammer and stacking adrenal health is going to get exponentially stronger with these buffs. This is not even taking into account that to the Limit is going to make Relic of Rivers even worse to deal with. Spear and Staff just died for the sins of SPB and now they are rebuffing SPB traits to cover up for the loss of staff. Both weapons died for nothing, they are just buffing SPB to be stronger without them. This is insane, whats even going on?!

List your issues with Warrior as a profession.

We could use some more Devs looking at this thread if you want more things to change for the upcoming patch. There is still time to add one or two things from this thread. It would be mighty helpful. -

"Well, well well, if it isnt the consequences of my actions." -
Sounds very nice, lets see here. Thats... insultingly little change. The fact that this is a part of the balance patch means you acknowledge warrior rifle is just plain awful but not the the degree of how awful it is. This will make no changes for the PvE side of equipment rotation at all. Spear is just plain better in all aspects. Warrior rifle needs a complete overhaul, for suggestions you can check the link to the issues warrior faces in my signature. Actually a super interesting addition, allowing it to function much like hammer for warrior is a very welcome addition, excellent change. Interesting changes for offhand dagger, could increase viability of dagger for other playstyles then Spellbreaker. Think this is going to give SPB more tools that we really dont need to give it though. Will wait and see how this affects gameplay. Uhhh... thanks? There are a lot of other options that need drastic tuning up other then Kick, but we'll take anything we can get I guess. Mostly PvE change for this but Dolyak signet could be interesting in PvP. Will wait and see. "To the limit" change is very welcome, meta is quite dodge heavy as it is though and this is going to buff SPB with his Relic of Rives spam. Welcome change but keep that in mind. "Rampage" in PvE is almost useless compared to other elite choices. Playing core and having access to it more in PvE could be nice though. Oh wow, im absolutely not opposed to 100 more ferocity but im pretty sure this is just going to buff the meme oneshot builds warrior runs in PvP. Free damage in PvE though, very nice. Straight buffs to quickness zerker supp in PvE, we love to see it. Martial Cadence changes could be nice in PvP as well, with the relic this now cleansing now clears 3 condis. This is in direct competition with Vigorous Shouts though and thats a LOT of healing your missing out on. Staff also got overnerfed in PvP, giving it back healing via more scaling on healing power would be a much better solution then just gutting its healing potential for warrior support builds. Great for PvE, sustain for days. Horrific implication for PvP, thats like having a permanent Relic of Zakiros with Fury but without the extra in a trait choice. Loss Aversion is a great trait, this could quickly become oppressive on its own. Stack this on a defence hammer build and it could potentially heal for quite a lot under the duration of a teamfight. _____________________________________ All in all, some numbers tuning and buffs to SPB in PvE and PvP. Almost the entire PvP community had their panties in a twist for months about SPB and staff. Now your just giving them the option to have innate healing in their kit. This in combo with Bladestorm might give SPB a lot more sustain then you intended. Then again, we have Willbenders just roaming around, freely ganking people with spear so you might just have this as an intended consequence. Warriors need much more help then this, adress Zerker and for the love of Grenth get Bladesworn off life support, its been nerfed out of any competitive environment and you barely see it in PvE either. I see more Core warrior builds the BSW in the wild. If you need pointers just tap any warrior on the warrior forums and we can give a lot of pointers, just pick anyone, please.

Most people just want the Elite Spec restored to how it was at the start of EOD. Genuinely doesn't seem like that hard of a request.

Willbender is overperforming beyond any expectation? Better nerf Bladesworn to fix the issue. -
Anet are trying their hardest to ignore the fact that BSW exists. If they acknowledge it exists they would have to actually work on warrior.

Nerfing Warrior before the REAL monsters emerge.
WingSwipe.3084 replied to BadxDog.1584's topic in Warrior
Its almost impressive how hard they nerfed the ability, adding the new mechanic or nerfing its damage would have been enough. Adding both was malicious and clearly personal. -
Condi Zerker is a playstyle that had its strike damage defenses pretty neutered with the Savage Instict and Eternal Champion nerfs October 17th. This also hard handicapped Power Zerkers sustain abilities in PvP as well. Condi zerker also plays like kitten on a stick and is slower then an iceberg, its not fun for the player or its victim. The support build just got hard nerfed because of Warrior Staff containing about 80-90% of warriors healing capability. This got nerfed because SPB was abusing the Heretic Amulet along with Staff. Yet again the rest of warrior suffers because one Elite Spec is aggravatingly overperforming. Bladesworn was essentially nerfed out of the game. It sees no play on any layer of competitive play since all it had was sustain and defences. Anet stubbornly refuses to acknowledge that the Elite spec exists and is in DIRE need of help on every level. There are other professions that can create a team wide level of projectile reflect, yet warrior having access to it for one person is the issue. Facetanking Spearmarshals refers to the fact that with perma prot (which many professions have) and 2 stacks of aegis you can essentially just stand there and let it do damage. There is no real threat of it doing enough damage to put you in an akward position. This has become doubly so since the mechanic of "The first spear has to hit" mechanic was introduced, one stack of aegis negates this skill in its entirety. You should have nerfed the damage or added this mechanic, not both. kitten, you can roll once and dodge 80% of its damage. Spear swipe has become a liability more then a useful ability in this situation, its now also on a 25 second cooldown, thats longer then some elite skills with 1/10 of the effect. Team wide projectile reflects cause this skill to knock you down more then enemies, so you cant fight any team with a Tempest. If you wanna trade overcharged shot for Spear swipe in its current form, im down to trade right now. I'll take a knockback shot that clears movement impairments on a 15 sec CD with a 1200 range in a heartbeat instead of the current iteration of spear swipe.
