  1. I suspect it's the dead horse about activities (such as Keg Brawl) showing up even if you only do PvE dailies (as they have always done even before WV), time to beat it again.

The answer is always the same: it's the easiest thing you can ever get by doing absolutely nothing. You don't have to engage with any PvP content in Activities. Stand around and pick your nose for 5 minutes and get your AA.

  2. Axe's main advantage is being a ranged weapon that isn't shooting projectiles and is therefore immune to projectile hate. I certainly wouldn't want to trade that for what you're suggesting.

Unless dual swords work the same way. I wouldn't know cause I haven't touched the beta.

  3. Nope. I was surprised that beta was even available to me considering that I don't own SotO and none of this stuff will be available to me once it's implemented. It'd be an actual literal waste of my time for me to participate in this beta so it was the easiest decision ever not to bother.

EDIT: What's with the confused reactions here? This isn't even a controversial take. Why would I beta test something for Anet when it'll be literally impossible for me to enjoy those new weapons once they're fully out? These new proficiencies are a SotO feature, I don't get to have them.

  4. There's just one question one needs to consider when deciding if something is "pay to win": "Does this thing give an advantage over other players who haven't bought this thing?" And ultimately, it doesn't.

If they started selling gear with stats better than ascended, then we'd have a real problem. The only negative impact I see here is that some of the HoT HPs (Mushroom Queen, Avatar of Balthazar) are rather difficult even in groups, and they'll be even more tricky to organize people for after this. But then again, you can just go WvW and unlock this stuff without doing it already.

Other than that little caveat, it's no different from Level 80 boosts.

Some players are more able than others.  What you find "seriously easy" other find taxing or at least frustrating.  I'm sorry that you can't understand how others can have difficulty with story missions.  Not everyone is as apt as you.

Again, I am awful. I am a skill-clicker. I'm old. I have terrible reaction times. When I say it's easy, it's easy unless you have a disability.

Honestly, GW2 struggles with content challenge. A large chunk of the game is overly easy, while you randomly hit walls of super difficult content. In general, I agree with the notion that many of the LW story instances are over-tuned for solo players and should not be. There were times I broke into maniacal laughter about how over the top some boss encounters were to the point of being a slog and not fun at all.

There is literally one story boss that is way too difficult and it's the golem at the end of the Olmakhan instance, and I think it's deliberate cause you don't really die in that fight, the shamans just revive you when you're downed. The rest is seriously easy and I say that as a bad player who's never even dreamed of doing raids or strike missions (and occasionally gets yelled at in tier 1 fractals). I don't understand how anyone could find GW2 story missions all that hard unless they have a serious disability.
