  2. Yep, here we go again. API not working and was trying to check my trading post status at GW2BLTC. Seems to me that it's breaking more often than a March Madness Bracket. 😆
  3. Also noticed this too, as I just started not too long ago. I'm surprised this has yet to be fixed.
  4. Now that is something I can get behind. Finally we can actually experience the siege turtle rather than flipping tables every time a failed map meta occurs.
  5. At this point, I've pretty much given up on ever bothering to play the meta seriously. I'm in complete agreement that it's misleading to advertise the turtle mount only to have it locked behind a near-impossible meta. I can pretty much figure out the mechanics, which is simple enough after a few runs. But the experience of having to deal with such chaos, especially for people who are trying to dish out as much damage as possible while staying alive, is incomprehensible and infuriating. The last run I did, I hastily switched to a healing scourge in order to assist in keeping people alive while dishing out a few might boons for limited time. It helped get people up. But it's nowhere near enough to make a difference. Builds are all over the place, which is to be expected from an open world map. I don't want to waste time trying a meta with a dismal success rate just to potentially start the turtle mount unlock. I didn't keep track of what Anet said with regard to the feasibility of getting said mount. So if going by what people said, this is absolutely not easier to get than the previous mounts -- beetle, griffon, skyscale. Easier to acquire the turtle mount should be simply talking to a NPC on the map or completing a specific event at the hatchery. We got neither. I now feel like I've been ripped off.
  6. Just got done with a failed run on that meta. So I'll chime in on my thoughts. It was my 3rd or 4th attempt. All ended in failure. As far as the mechanics goes, it seems okay. But I think the biggest issue with regards to this is time. Either 1) there's not enough time to finish the meta or 2) the meta takes too long for those who have limited time. The tight requirement of DPS needs to be thrown out. The limited time to complete the meta causes this. If you add extra time to the meta, then we ease the tight DPS requirement on this. I'm also curious as to why the siege turtle mount is locked behind a successful completion of the meta, when part of the meta appears to require a siege turtle in the first place. I'd be fine if it was locked behind story completion or doing a related event at the hatchery. I'm very disappointed at this. I'm in agreement that the meta should not require raid-like setups. For an open-world meta, it's definitely not balanced for the general players. Even I, who have played since the beginning, have never stepped into raid. After a couple of runs at the final battle, even I could see how the fight works, for the most part. But both times that I've been there, it just feels like there's not enough time to really beat it. Anet needs to address this soon.
  7. The argument I'm making here, along with others who pointed it out since the start, is the gap in time investment between the two is too large. Meaning, the supposed long term effort or time investment going into either of the two are not similar in any way. Obtaining Slumb Conflux was fairly effortless and could take me anywhere between 1.5-3 months time, Slumb Trans on the other hand requires 120 wins during seasons (thus limiting progress access). My previous post already stated my personal progress on that. I'm not anxious to get it as fast as possible. I would like to, like everyone else. But given the speed I was able to acquire Slumb Conflux, it left a very bad impression on how easily and quickly I can get it. That's the main issue I have with getting (Slumb) Trans. Nobody will disagree that both will require large time investment. What I'd like to see is a change in how long/much it takes to get either of them -- either by modifying the win requirement for (Slumb) Trans or the capture/kill requirement for (Slumb) Conflux.
  8. As a "filthy casual," I am also seeing the large effort discrepancies between Transcendence and Conflux. It took me several weeks since their debut to get Conflux. And I was able to get it on my own time and terms. But this isn't the same in PvP, which I am just about as casual. In PvP, I cannot just quit when things go south/sour. But in WvW, I can die badly, respawn, and just decide to exit the mode when a tick passes (thus making progress in skirmish rewards). I also feel Transcendence has too high of a hurdle to leap over just to acquire. Even worse so just to make Transcendence since it requires 20 AT wins which I cannot see myself getting into. The time commitment just to get into a match, only to realize that you partied up with players who are either lackluster or non-existent chemistry, is too high of a requirement for anyone who doesn't have the time to spare. Like some who have previously posted, I can only commit a few hours a day on a work day. And even when I'm off for the day from work, it's only 6 hours or less. When 2v2 came out, I refused to step inside of it because I refused to deal with the uptick in potential toxic commentaries. If I lose out bad, the other player is going to berate me. If not that, the other team would start taunting. And I rather not hear the constant blasphemy of these kind of people if all I wanted to do is try out the mode, get a feel for it, and just mess around. I'm overall disappointed in the wide gap between acquiring (Slumbering) Transcendence. I started casually playing since the start of the current season. Thus far, 43 wins, with a personal new record of 13 straight losses. I also make it a personal goal to get thru the entire pip seasonal rewards at least once. At the rate I'm going, and with the Ascended Shard of Glory currency being one of the requirement, it'll take me several PvP seasons just to acquire Slumb Trans. Even if, for the sake of theory, I had all the Ascended Shards of Glory ready to purchase the necessary components, the win requirement is what's holding me back and is taking up more time than I had spent in WvW getting objective captures.
  9. I used to run a power reaper in WvW. Then I learned how to run a condi scourge... then a healing scourge. After looking at the consolidated wiki entry and seeing the changes being made to Necros in general, it looks like it's being nerfed to hell and back. Now there's basically minimal boon corrupt/removal for the class. Sure there's still dmg output from stacking condis using other methods. But it means nothing if we cannot remove the Resistance boon fast enough that's buried within the other 5-10 boons on top of it.
  10. Part disappointed by the number we're given at the start. My necro already has 3 different build types that I could easily populate the tabs. Limited to 6 in total for that char is rather small. GW1 never had such limitation at all, simply because our builds were written to disk in a file that we can easily back up. Now we don't even have that option any more. Plus, the gear templates is limited 2 per char, and that hits many people hard who have more than 2 completely different build and gear loadouts. In reality, we're not getting 3 build templates but 2 (and a half).
