Hey, to answer your questions basically: 1. As far as demand goes I can't really tell how big it is. Lutris/Steamplay have made it very easy to play on Linux. I'd say the project is mature enough to a point where there won't be as frequent releases. I'll still update the Wine base version and components such as DXVK. 2. In my package I disable/enable certain features to maximize game performance (eg: All forms of log outputs which might reduce game performance are disabled. The package is fully portable and keeps all config in its' own folder). My aim is to provide a package that can run on any modern distro. 3. I've modified the Arcdps install scripts last I recall, but everything else is still mostly the same. Should you encounter any issues or wish to make any additions to make my package feel free to chime in π I understand the project is not on Github, but most of the configuration is in the "bin/user_*" scripts. The rest is basically a self compiled - slightly customized Wine staging build (with some additional patches borrowed from wine-tkg).

Judging by the recent last pages, it appears the pixman library was causing the freezes. I guess I was never able to reproduce it on my end is cause I'm running it on an old system where it isn't affected (libpixman is at 0.34.0). Could anyone confirm if my package works fine with the fixed libpixman? I'm in the process of updating the Wine base package.

Greetings everyone. It's been a long time coming but I've finally came back to the project with a new (and functional release). No tricks all treats release π Changelog: - Rebased package on Wine 8.18-Staging - Package now supports Intel/AMD/Nvidia (no more separate packages) - Updated DXVK to 2.3 - Added VKD3D-Proton 2.10 (in case of future DX12 support) - Removed ArcDPS references to DX9 since itβs no longer supported. The uninstall script will now also remove ArcDPS config folder. In case you're wondering why it took so long for such a new release, the reasons are too many, one of them being the required 'child window patch' which isn't part of upstream Wine. Some of the other reasons are personal life and taking up other projects. For the new Linux people - This package (downloadable on 1st page) aims to let you play GW2 as effortlessly as possible without needing additional software such as Lutris, Steam, Proton...etc. It's very portable, meaning it will not clutter your home folder, instead it keeps everything in it's own folder. There are also handy scripts to install/update/remove arcdps. Let me know if something doesn't work. A lot has changed in the Linux gaming world since the last release, so I may have to adjust to a few things still to accomodate π

Hi All, As you might have noticed, quite some time has passed and I haven't updated the packages on the front page. Over the past few months I've tried many times to get the game running on my old distro, always ending in failure. Eventually I stopped trying and moved on to different interests. Today I've taken another stab at it and I've finally managed to get the game up and running. Unfortunately this does not mean I'll be able to release newer packages anytime soon. Though, if anyone wishes to take over the project I would be happy to help. Game appears to be running fine, no crashes whatsoever in the past hour, using setup as follows: - lutris-fshack-7.2-2.9 (Source code: https://github.com/lutris/wine/tree/lutris-fshack-7.2-2.9) - Mesa 22.0.5 - dxvk-async 2.0 (recently released and has a bunch of improvements regarding 32bit applications and memory management)

I was perfectly fine with the way the controls were and while going back to them takes a few seconds, I really don't like the idea that Anet didn't even bother to document in their changelog. Just as they didn't bother to document that the trading post middleware was updated. -
Installing Wine from the package manager should be done on every system as it will automatically install most required dependencies. As for that package, no installation is needed, you can unzip it into your home folder and create a portable setup from it. In your case, it's probably easier to just install the one from the AUR repo. @MrEMan.1730 Might be a while before I release a new package, the only 2 issues I have so far since the new update is with the TP crashing the game after a period of gameplay and the flickering lighting which is also present on Windows. As for performance, It's still pretty much the same from before the patch. I'm taking notes as I play π

After a week I've finally got the game running on both my desktop and laptop (AMD gpu and Intel HD respectively). took me a little longer than most due to running an old distro. It's good to be back despite the TP still being a mess. I don't like Steam or clients in general, so I feel you on that. I used this build: https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/wine-ge-custom/releases/download/GE-Proton7-21/wine-lutris-GE-Proton7-21-x86_64.tar.xz (pre-compiled Wine build) From there I setup a new prefix, added DXVK game worked fine. If for some reason you're 100% sure you did everything correctly but game is still crashing, try enabling Virtual Desktop in Wine config, this has solved the issue for me on Intel HD.

I tried to run the game on an Intel HD laptop today. Disabling DXVK didn't help, tried with WineD3D and I've even tried Gallium Nine. From what I can tell so far, it seems to run mostly on some build of Proton-GE and it doesn't work for everyone. Considering there's also those lighting issues, I'll wait till the dust settles for now, with the hope that a future patch will bring things to normal again.

So far I've tried: Vanilla Wine 7.13 Vanilla Wine 7.13 + Staging Lutris-Wine-7.2 (custom build provided by Lutris team) This is on a Debian 9 system (it's old but worked fine prior to this update). The issue seems to be very hit or miss. To ANet devs: If you're reading this, it would help us Linux users a huge deal if you revert the CoherentUI update.
