Have the ecto gamble drop rates sneakily changed?
Daddicus.6128 replied to Lonecap.4105's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
30 in a row getting only 25 of the gold junk? If accurate, that's way out of line, despite the statements of others above. However, I have some doubts that you actually did that. For one thing, unless I'm mistaken, you always get at least two stacks of stuff (not full stacks, but two piles that are different). Can you post your exact drops? -
early observations on the behavior of GW2 players

Welcome to the community! The level of toxicity is very low in open world. It's only in high-level content where there are problems, like dungeons, raids, etc. Stick around! I think you'll like the community. -
Thanks, Ayrilana. I don't do raids, so that's probably out for me.

The Aerodrome, eh? I'll check that out. Thank you!

ArenaNet: Are you ever going to give us a chance to complete the Ultra Shiny collection, by bringing back the event? I know about buying djinn energy clusters. But the drop rate for essences and weapons is so low one would have to buy thousands of them, and there are less than ten thousand available. It's not a viable way to get them.

I have several thousand eternal ice shards. I would like to use them, but I'm not sure where to start. I know there are three weapon collections that require them, and that we can use them for eitrite ingots used for generic bags (which I don't need). NOTE: I've searched for and read other threads on the subject. This isn't a complaint; it's a how-to set of questions. So, the question is: How do I start the weapon collections? In other words, are there any things I have to do to "unlock" the ability to complete them? Or, are there things to do (like events, masteries, and metas) that are needed, or just useful, for other components of these weapons? Regarding other uses, I know about converting them to other map currencies (which I also don't need). Those can be converted to volatile magic (VM). I don't really need that, but there are a few minis I could still pick up. And, I know I can convert that to money and/or karma. So the second question is: Are there any other uses besides the weapon collections, bags (via ingots), and VM?

It's supposed to be an incentive to help other people out. It's not supposed to be about only your own benefit. This is true. Similar to the weekly rush. If you want more rewards, play with some of the lower tiers more to get rewards. Help out some lower leveled fractal people, if you want extra rewards.I do help people. A lot. But not nearly enough to fill out these requirements. And, have you even tried to find PUGs at the lower tiers? I would have to spend hours just waiting for groups to get the tier 2 and 3 weeklies filled. Even during this special rush week it proved out of reach. Without the rush, I'm not sure if it would even be possible.

Yeah, but not in the Fractals subforum.

There are two major problems with the weekly fractal achievements. First, there's no way to track which ones you've done. They need checkmarks like the other achievements that require a list of entries. I tried to get to the 12 tier 2 fractal's reward, but at 11 I realized there's no way to know which ones I have left to do. Second, the requirements are too high for the lower tiers and too low for tier 4. It takes 2 days of doing daily fractals to get the reward for tier 4, but all week for tier 1. Unless you're leveling (which we only do once per account), it isn't going to happen. I think tier 4 should require 8-10 (or more), but the other tiers only 5-6 each (or less).

Keeping track of weekly fractals?
Daddicus.6128 replied to Critical Delay.9184's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
This made me give up completely on the weeklies, other than tier four. It's not worth the effort to create a spreadsheet to track the darned things. -
Fractal Rush Community Goal Reward - RIPPED OFF
Daddicus.6128 replied to Mantello.4190's topic in Guild Wars 2 Discussion
Why on earth would anybody save them? But, I agree that the rewards should happen regardless of whether you buy anything or not, and certainly if you buy one of the expensive ones (which means you had to save them for a while). -
Drop rate for some rare items
Daddicus.6128 replied to Daddicus.6128's topic in Players Helping Players
I tried 127 times for Rhendak's signet and received one. I tried 138 times for the Pendant of Arah, and also received one. I'm still tracking them, but I don't try as often anymore. Rhendak's is so buggy it's difficult to make valid attempts. (And, the game doesn't tell you if it is an invalid attempt; you have to figure it out on your own.) -

The line I quoted didn't say PvE. It says your favorite place to play. -
In the event Defeat the invading Awakened (which occurs in many zones on a schedule), how can you tell where they are attacking? I was in Wayfarer's Foothills, and I went all the way around the zone, but didn't see the event anywhere. Wiki page: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Defeat_the_invading_Awakened

I didn't know that, but I don't play PvP and don't enjoy WvW. My point is that PvE is the heart and soul of this game, yet for some strange reason, legendary armor isn't available to PvE-only players. -

This isn't anywhere near true: you MUST raid to get armor.
