  1. It's funny Anet can do anything they want for no reason whatsoever, They could stop charging people for older living world episodes, give away outfits they want to, lower the price of gem store items for example. And there isn't anything we can do about it. Except appreciate their generosity. So if Anet does decide to offer mastery points in the gem store they can. They can also put them in black lion chests, or trade them for excess items in your inventory. This is Anets game not Blizzards, not Daybreak's [formally Sony]. Anet does not and will not follow the rules of any older MMO. They want players to enjoy GW2 not stifle them. If a player want to play this game like they think Anet wants them too, fine enjoy it. If a player wants a shortcut to part of that the fine they can bypass it with other options.
  2. And what was that concept? The concept was the people of central and south America before the European's arrived.
  3. I am wondering what's gonna happen after Anet completes the trilogy set in GW, and I think I figured what they are going to do. The next GW campaign was going to be Utopia but they scrapped it for GW2. If I'm right Utopia will be coming to GW2 [maybe not the name but the concept]
  4. The reason people say any game is dead is they don't want you to play it, and maybe play theirs. New players are kinda lucky in GW2 they can get one expansion get the entire game minus the living story, but future living story episodes are free as long as you log in while active. I paid $100 for the core game, $100 for HoT, and $80 for PoF.With the next expansion coming up probably pay $80 for that too. I always get the ultra edition. I'm hoping that Anet will give it free to me and other players for our loyalty, but if not I will be ready.
  5. Well I realize this idea is by regular MMO standards is very controversial, and for a older generation MMO it is. This is a new generation of MMO that was never done before. Some good examples of the things Anet has done are first, Making the core game free to try [still free if you get the expansion or both of them]. The next thing was because the expansions required a level 80 character they gave everyone a level 80 boost for each expansion, they were not available in the gem store for a while after that. Next thing they did impressed me a lot. Anet made it so players could purchase Path of Fire, and get Heart of Thorns with core game free. What MMO developer does this? Anet has a great game in Guild Wars which they wanted to improve for the existing population, but couldn't because the GW game engine was too old. So they set out to make a new game Guild Wars 2. Along with Eye of the North, and the Hall of Monuments to tie GW and GW2 together. Now Anet sells things like Level 80 boosts, waypoint unlocks and other things in the gem store, they do not hurt progression in any way. The Mastery points are the same in this game sometimes easy to get some times a pain to get. So if you can purchase them from the gem store or trade them for certain items in game that will take away some of the things you may not like doing in game. Of course if you like the way it's set up you can do it that way too.
  6. Go to options then graphics then character model limit and quality put them at lowest settings work from there adjust as you see fit
  7. After lookin at the world of tyria on a map the lands do not go around the globe, so im hoping we go to sea and find them after all the EoD IS DONE
  8. People in this suggestion are not seeing the bigger picture. I do play this game , and want to continue. To me mastery points are no different than tomes of knowledge which without wvw I have in my bank over 1000 of them. I play the game for the story and exploring areas, not to search for achievements. If I do an achievement playing how I play that's fine I put 13, 500 hours over 3,018 days. so I do play this game. I also have all characters at different stages of the game and LS with each having all elite specs. I ended up having a stroke about a year or so back which made my left side weak and partially useless. So I play with my right hand mostly while adding a bit with my right. I wat to bring my other characters through the LS and expansions over time as I play, but doing the achievements to get them slows the process down.
  9. This "not want to play the game" statement really confuses me, but I will try my best to answer you. The simplest answer is, farming mastery points is boring. I don't see getting mastery points as a fun part of "playing the game", I see it as a thing I have to do to play the game. Just like leveling up, just like unlocking hero points. That is like asking "Why are you leveling up with tomes of knowledge? Don't people want to play the game?"Being able to buy mastery points will not have any negative impact anyone that doesn't like the idea. You can already buy hero points with ingame currency. Why would this be so different? And for everyone saying it is pay to win, it is really not. Either way, I am not trying to change your mind, but I just want to point out that some people get enjoyment out of different aspects of the game and I find it crazy how people get so up in arms about someone wanting to be able to skip a pretty boring grindy part of it. Getting these mastery points doesn't take a whole lot of effort (for the most part) but it is extremely time consuming. That is the main reason I haven't gotten it done on any of my alts.If mastery points were as easy to see and get as hero points are then this suggestion would not be needed. Nope they are hidden in achievement so it makes them an extra few steps to get. That I believe are not needed
  10. Explain how mastery points in the gemstore can be in any way pay to win? They are not used in pvp or wvw, they do not make your character stronger faster or better. It makes your character a lot better in PvE. I appreciate the fact that some aspects like mastery points can be gained exclusively by achieving/leveling things in game. Not everything should be for sale. And this is one of them imo. Then maybe an alternative method of getting them, like trading tomes of knowledge for them instead of having to do whole lines of achievements to get one.
  11. Explain how mastery points in the gemstore can be in any way pay to win? They are not used in pvp or wvw, they do not make your character stronger faster or better.
  12. Quite a few people say because I want mastery points in the gem store that takes away from game play. Well to some that may be true, but to me it doesn't. I played Guildwars since 2005 in which I ended up o my sin 35 maxed titles (that's 5 titles over god walking amongst mere mortals title), Got GWAMM on my Rit, and Mesmer too. In the Hall of Monuments I have four fully maxed out halls for four different characters. So in that game I did the extra stuff and enjoyed doing it while playing.GW2 on the other hand does not have that system it has achievements which I am not interested in maxing out like titles in GW. If I get them I get them. The mastery points in the story are the same I do not want to go out of my way to get them while trying to get through the story to complete it. We should not have to play the way we don't want too to max our masteries, and not be able compete all the mastery lines in the game. So putting the points in the gem store is not pay to win, but a quality of life thing. You still have to get the exp. to use them. It will not break the game at all.
  13. I won't ever complete these Achievements and get the associated Mastery (The collections of weapons). I tend to think of these not as a Mastery point that I need to get, but rather a way for a different type of player to get a Mastery point. What type of player? The one who does engage with the crafting system in the game and does want to complete a full set of weapons. Those crafter/collector types have a way of being rewarded for doing something they like to do. Similar to the Run 50 Strikes MP/Achievement. Those players running strikes have a reward for playing through them a huge number of times. It isn't for everyone, and that is okay. I don't think it would be fair to diminish the effort of other players by making the same MP/Achievement they worked hard on available for purchase. However, there could be an alternative. An MP pack that you could buy that isn't tied to the achievements or MP in game. Something as simple as 100 gems for a generic MP that can be used in any Mastery. It doesn't complete an achievement, doesn't take anything away from the game or content, it simply speeds up the process for those wanting to get a Mastery line unlocked. exactly!!!
  14. Another option would be to use the experience scrolls or tomes of knowledge to buy them.
  15. I took a look at a couple requirements for one mastery point each of course seen more but these stuck out. Two different weapon sets with 16 weapons each have to be acquired to get one mastery point each. I don't need 32 weapons I'm never gonna use anyway to get those points. Again I am not saying you can purchase them and use them without playing for the xp you need to use them you do. I am saying you should not have to complete some of the stupid requirement to get mastery points. If you want to that's fine if not you should have the option to buy them for gems if you want they could also be available in BL chests or in game as a drop here n there. Buying the points will not break the game or be pay to win just be an option to people.
  16. again the play is doing the exp. to use the mastery points some points are a pain to get for no reason
  17. Be nice if they did that but they won't so why not sell them in the gem store also not asking for the exp still have to do that
  18. I do play the game but Anet said if you wanna take the time in game you can but if not you can purchase things to avoid that,So you can play, no one said you needed the mastery opened today there is no rush in the game. Masteries are a game mechanic what is the point of the game if everything can be bought with money. It is also in the name Mastery as in mastering the game, like become better at the game. I am not talking about purchasing the points and them giving u free exp just the points themselvesI am also talking about the mastery points, they are given for completing an achievement they are basically reward for finishing a quest. https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/categories/guild-wars-2-discussionbut some people like myself do not want to do all those things to get them. It does not mean they should remove them for those who do though

  21. Make mastery points available for gem store purchase for those that do not want to take the time to do all the cr(stuff)ap to get one point. Sometime an entire list has to be completed for just one point that's just bad, especially if people have to get x amount of experience to use them. I hate taking the time to get them wasting the time i could be getting the exp. to use them.
