  1. I’m just going to switch to the other elite specs after the recent changes.

While I’m not even sure that the trait reworks were strictly nerfs dps wise (Reaver’s curse instead of Song of Arboreum now, might even be a buff), having to weave in Energy Meld (with the 1/2 casttime) all the time to enhance dodges feels awful and unfun.

It wasent untill 1 month before the drop date that they went and said "Well, acutally the content of Secrets of the obsure will be driped into the game over the next year."

I've literally shared the link above that proves you wrong.

It even directly states in the blogpost "Today we announced Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure™, a new expansion launching later this year."

Every information was there from the start about the new weapons. This isn't Anet's fault, it is just a user error.

How could one know that new weapons were being added for each profession without knowing that they would not be available at launch? Werent the existence and post launch aspect announced at the same time?

Yes, the blog posts were released at the same time as the announcement:

    Future Update: Expanded Weapon Proficiency

To round off our combat systems updates, we’re granting each profession proficiency with an additional weapon. Like we said earlier: getting to play with a new weapon and changing out your first five skills is one of the most impactful parts of an elite specialization for many players. The weapons and weapon skills we’re introducing to each profession in Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure are meant to satisfy that same itch of a new skillset—we just focused on making these weapons fit in with the existing trait lines.

This is planned for the second major release after launch (and we’re aiming to ship those major releases quarterly).

People begging for an OW legendary set: "We don't care if it has animated skins it can look like basic armor, we just want it for the stat swapping convenience."

Also people begging for an OW legendary set: "We want it to have special animations and effects that are even better than the sets that require actual effort!!11"

Sure hope nobody hurt themselves shifting the goalpost so fast. 😆

Man, there sure are a lot of people mad about OW getting a legendary set in here. They even use a smiliar rhetoric 😅.

Also, on the legendary armour effects:
Pretty sure it's just some effects in combat.
"A future release will introduce a brand-new set of legendary armor that becomes infused with magic in combat. Essential materials and components for legendary armor collection will be available beginning at launch, so you can build up resources right away!" - https://www.guildwars2.com/en/secrets-of-the-obscure/

The issue is that what players "decoded it as" often times ignores one crucial thing, the devs wrode: "doesn't require heavy investment into...". See the word "heavy"? There is no reason for them to include it unless there still is some "investment", just not as much as previous sets.

I feel like many players who believe this to be "OW legendary armor" are setting themselves up for disappointment here.

Yeah, the issue really is what players "decode it as", e.g. players reading too much into words like "heavy", when it could just relate to the old sets.

We could just wait for the release of SOTO & more blog-posts with information on the armour after the release, but i guess spreading negativity due to lack of information is just too much fun.

I think this is just about the new SOTO weapon skills...

in which case, yeah, as been stated: you are *severely* undercounting skills-per-class gained. Anyone who go main-and-off-hand or a two-hander with SOTO has, in total, got *fewer* skills than, say, thief or elementalist.

Well, he would be right about Revenant. They only get MH sceptre.

  7. Open World Legendary Armour:

About time. Every other game mode had one (albeit PvP & WvW without skin) aside from OW. Guess it took so long because they wanted to implement a way to earn it akin to raids instead of just throwing it into the game like PvP & WvW.

People clamouring that this will be the end of raids don‘t get that raids themselves failed to be exciting for the vast majority. If the reason people played raids was to get the armour and not because they are enjoyable, then something with the game mode was off.

    Easier Skyscale:

Makes sense. Has been in the game long enough & it is hard for new players to keep up with the skyscale. I don‘t mind new people having an easier access to the skyscale.

    More Weapon Choices for All:

I expected this after they told us there wouldn‘t be new e-specs. Didn‘t expect the extra core weapon. Exciting news imo. Games should be fun, first and foremost. Balance will be a problem, but when was it ever not? Not even games that focus on one map are ever really balanced & there will always be meta picks. Fun > Balance.

    Runes and Relics:

Can‘t really judge this, will need to wait to see how it is implemented.

I'm all for fixing annoying things but is it worth doing if it's 1/10 people? Or the fix improves the one but then makes 3/10 upset with those changes? List goes on.

Well put. That's exactly why we don't get more raid encounters, as it's not worth doing if it's 1/10 people.
