You literally don't need legendary, dungeon, fractal, wvw, pvp, raid, or to even explore. Heck you can reach 80 and never finish story. It's almost like playing just for fun

I hate it when games are just played for fun!

If you really "need" to do content, are you doing it because it is fun, or because the developer forces you to do that specific content for some reason? I know which style i prefer, the fun one.

  2. It's an okay expansion. Story was better than HoT, but PoF & HoT just generally had better additions in my opinion.

A lot of the EoD content relies on the player being interested in the Aurene legendaries. If you don't really care about them, you're better off farming some LW maps.
And while DE is mechanically more intense than other maps, it just feels like a worse & less appealing version of DS to me.
(The lower map population caps also makes it feel less "massive")

A lot of angry fan-bois on this post lol. God forbid someone asks a question.

Person too angry to acknowledge his assumption is wrong after being called out would rather deflect and constructs his own strawman argument 🙄. God forbid someone answers a question.

    Right.

But I still like the greek version better.

It would be a massive awesome boss in gw2... imo, off course.

I think what he was saying is that "Kraken" do not exist in greek mythology. So there is no greek version, just a english-invented interpretation of greek mythology.

I'd say the closest thing to kraken in greek mythology are either Cetus, Scylla or Charybdis.

  5. Agree.
Overreliance on boons just created something like the holy trinity, just generally more unrelatable than the generally accepted tank/healer/dps that is used in multiple other games.

While the lack/removal of the holy trinity was originally designed so you didn‘t have to wait for certain classes/builds before having fun and tackling content, the „trinity“ just came back in a less intuitive form for certain types of content.

  6. Many things in the Manifesto don't hold up.
    Things like:

    Quote

it doesn’t make you spend hours preparing to have fun rather than just having fun

    or

    Quote

With GW2 there’s a third option too: you can just naturally play with all the people around you. I personally spend a big chunk of my time in traditional MMOs soloing, but when I play GW2 I always find myself naturally working with everyone around me to accomplish world objectives, and before long we find ourselves saying, “Hey, there’s a bunch of us here; let’s see if we can take down the swamp boss together,” without ever having bothered to form a party.

Of course GW2 has great support for parties, but they just don’t feel as necessary as they do in other MMOs, because your interests are always aligned with all other nearby players anyway.

Just aren't true anymore with content requiring specific preparation. Want to do any of the bigger Meta-events? You'll end up on a empty map if you don't proactively look for a group in LFG.

Same thing for the "your choices matter" during perstonal story. They've never really mattered long term, only short term to get some specific rewards earlier.
