  1. The civilization is military based but that doesn't mean they are constantly wanting a war. Iron Legion has leagues of farms and craftsmen who are not front-line soldiers. Iron Legion sent a peace offering to humanity long before Kralkatorrik woke up. But most importantly, Charr aren't raging berserker idiots who can't understand the idea of peace. They are smart enough to know they cannot use the Asura gates to invade, and a land-based one would allow other nations time to prepare defenses. They spent some what, 200 years failing to breach and take Ebonhawke. Imagine doing that to a city on the other side of the shiverpeaks while trying to protect and maintain your supply lines. While Lion's Arch has a fleet of airships, as does the orders (which are almost entirely based in and on the border of Kryta). Imagine being the race who comes out of this united, combined effort to make the elder dragons stop being a risk to all life, and turning around and attacking the others for no reason at all. The Charr legions were present at Thunderhead Keep, as was every other functional army force. They would know to attack would make them the bad guys. And they would know they cannot defeat the rest of the world standing alone. Unlike the orcs of WoW, the Charr are written as actually having a culture and civilization. They are more then just soldiers. I'd be incredibly disappointed in Anet if they suddenly went "Oh yeah, the charr decide that with the elder dragons mostly dealt with, they want to invade and ravage across Kryta and the shiverpeaks!" because that'd turn the Charr from being the Charr high legions, to be the idiotic and blundering orc horde from warcraft. Not to mention, we have a blood legion warband helping the Seraph at Lake Doric fight the White Mantle (when the white mantle attacked). "The White Mantle can't be allowed to ruin everything our races have built together. This is our fight too. " https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Nylia_Steelpaw Big thing about this warband? It wasn't ordered by the tribunes. The leader of the warband VOLUNTEERED to go to Lake Doric and help. The blood legion, the most violent of the four and generally stereotyped as brute force front-line warriors, volunteered to go help defend the capital of Kryta against the White Mantle to preserve everything that Charr and Humanity had built together so far.

    Mount sizes

Slightly for Vyko.6953, I was curious if anybody had made a size chart of the mounts, or had figured out the rough sizes for each mount.
  3. Why would the charr break the peace treaty with the humans? That would make the race idiotic and backstabbers, and ruin their relations with other races and weaken their own powers. There is mention in black citadel that (at that point of time) they had trouble maintaining supply lines across all of ascalon. They can't invade across the shiverpeaks. It's also an often overlooked detail that when Zhaitan rose, the Iron legion made a first offer of peace to humanity (Which was stolen by pirates and the new prince waged bloody war infront of Ebonhawke). The Charr are not Warcraft Orcs. They have, and use, their brains. They don't start wars for "Lul CONQUEST" reasons.
  4. We know Glint had a lot of eggs in her lair, only two of which apparently survived. Now how old were these eggs is completely unknown, they could've been made alongside another crystal dragon when the elder dragons were last awake. Could be that the core dragon race simply reproduce extremely slowly?
  5. Against Mordremoth and Kralkatorrik, there is incredibly explicit dialogue and actions that showcase that while the commander is off doing this specific task near the dragon (that ultimately finishes it off), the gathered armies are outside bombarding and fighting it with everything they have. The commander is not some demigod dragonborn super figure, just a very skilled, powerful and experienced figure who is in the right spot at the right time during these events. The PC has made mistakes and can be beat.
  6. Necromancer minions are entirely undead. The key thing is player necromancers in GW1 and GW2 hardly, if ever at all, use humanoid/clearly human/sapient race looking minions. Both games necromancers heavily deal with undead though. The shade can be somewhat considered along the lines of demons, but it's not really the same thing. Being honest there are no real figures in GW that summon demons, there are some who lead demonic forces but not really any who actively summon demonic figures and control them. The only one I can really think of who might sorta fit that bill would be the Charr who was working with fleshreavers in Gw1, and maybe Varesh as others said.
  7. Orr was an intensely magical nation, though actual direct descendants would be rare. The only known "Orrian" we have in the GW2 era is the one queen's gauntlet contestant who can be found running around LA at times. The Scavenger's causeway would've been filled with Risen, probably near the site of the hinted at battles between Joko's Awoken and the Risen of Zhaitan. In terms of family descent, either actually work. Vabbi has an obvious history of heavy Lyssa devotion you could play off of pretty easily. I believe the firebrand lore mentions Vabbian libraries because vabbi was the nation in Elona with the most written knowledge/sources of knowledge around, but the firebrands took this knowledge and lore/wisdom of Istan and kourna as well for power. I'd probably say for ease of use, Vabbian ancestors for the Mesmer, Orr ancestors for the guardian. You could use that rather well, I think if the Orrian family line passed down stories of how Orr was destroyed and sank, which could be a nice explanation for the guardian protective magic focus. "We couldn't do anything about Orr back then, but we can try to help where we are able."
  8. My theory/viewpoint was that Kralkatorrik corrupted Glint at some point. Notice how her body was entirely crystalline (compared to Vlast or Aurene) where Kralkatorrik and the shatterers are crystal and rock. There is a line about the forgotten cleansing Glint, giving her free will again but "her body remained crystalline". There are other bits that imply she actually continued working alongside Kralk for a while before eventually understanding the mortal races enough to consider turning against him, or at least concealing pockets of people from him and the other elder dragons until they went back to sleep. Either way, there was some element of mental control over Glint that Kralkatorrik had, which the forgotten removed (They later all got branded attempted to perform the same ritual on Kralkatorrik).
  9. How tall is he, just being curious.
