  1. This reads as a troll post. But I do support variety in general, the female Norn cultural gear is some of my favorite ( the male gear looks really boring imho ).I'd like more gear with some asymmetry to it too like with the tier 3 Norn Medium ( Wolf ), I am a big fan of asymmetry in design. Male gear could use more revealing options too.Something that I legit hate with a passion is this obsessive complaining about skimpy gear for female characters, there's a lot of people who enjoy that and we want to have content that we enjoy too.I wish more energy would instead be spent on demanding more options for male characters instead of less options for female characters, it's like even when people say that's what they want they still frame it as the female characters being the problem...It's basically always '' why do the female characters not look like the male characters '' rather than '' why do male characters not have the variety female characters do ''. Oh no, options. How unfortunate. With hundreds of sets it's a very tiny portion you really don't have that many options at all.
  2. When I was a teenager I always RP:ed as myself in RPG's and MMO's.I am 27 now tho and I've preferred to play as the opposite of myself for a long time now, and my taste in fictional characters have just fundamentally changed in general. Before I used to play as more masculine and typical male characters, but now I prefer to play as very overtly feminine female characters.I am not very confident irl either I have a lot of social anxiety issues and have dealt with other mental health issues so in video games I tend to prefer to play very confident female characters in particular. Some people think that big muscular dudes with big axes yelling at the top of their lungs being angry is cool, but I just don't anymore.Bayonetta and Ivy in Soul Calibur to me for example are just five hundred times cooler than Conan or the guys in Gears of War or whatever imo. There's definitely exceptions to this, I love Berserk ( the Manga ) for example. But it also kinda speaks to a lot of the issues I've dealt with too and clicks with me. Now the more I think about this, I think that maybe I do prefer the female characters that I do because they're kind of a representation of what I want to be.I don't mean that I want to be a woman lol, but what I mean is that they sorta represent a more content sort of confidence and belief in oneself in how they carry themselves. When men typically express confidence especially in media it often tends to come across as lacking in confidence imo, like they're trying to prove things through brawn or with fancy watches and cars etc. It comes across more like an inferiority complex. Characters like Bayonetta and Ivy and that kind of confidence is more like '' I am who I am, and I am not ashamed. I got nothing to prove and imma do what I want. ''.Especially when it's expressed in a more femme fatale aggressive sexual kind of way and considering how negatively that's often perceived in society, I think that's something people have VERY mixed thoughts on tho. This also goes for people irl too, I have a lot of respect for people in general who just live their lives as they want to and don't care about how others perceive them. I just have that particular preference but just in general I respect it.And it always kinda irritates me when people just reduce it down to '' it's just fap material '', I think that's just one very stereotypically '' dudebro '' way of looking at it ( and kinda immature imho ) but I don't believe that there is one way to feel about and look at these things. It's sorta like saying that women just wear makeup to attract guys, I think that's kind of a narrow-minded way of looking at it.It's like saying that men only lift weights to attract girls.Sure, some do. But there's so many different reasons why different people do.And in both cases it can be about fun or just because it makes you feel good about yourself. I dunno if that makes sense to anyone and it's a bit rambly, it's a bit personal I guess and hard to explain.I guess that the answer is both yes and no.It's complicated.
  3. The thing is that the "damages" are no longer poor and it's a misconception to think the damages are low due to PvP balance. In term of damage the necromancer is in a good place in PvE now, the issue that prevent him from being "meta" is that it's tools hold no value in the game mode due to how mobs, defiance and encounters are designed. Make boon hate proc a reaction on defiance (leading to boon corruption proc'ing a bleed stack and the scourge utilities proc'ing their torment/cripple) and you already fix half of the issue in PvE. Replace the arena power damage by a 10s bleed applied every 2 seconds and the necromancer potential break the game with condition damage all while becoming "useful" for it's team (and such a combination mean that it's a garantied meta spot). Just these 2 little fix on the PvE design so that the necromancer's niches can be expressed would be enough to make necro meta (and probably kick the guardian out because we can't let them reduce the dps with their bothersome light fields they can't help but fart everywhere). Whether it's poor or not I think depends on your pov. What I mean is more that the damage is noticably lower to a point where a lot of people just won't take Necros. My main issue personally is that I find Reaper to be boring to play, I'd like to see Scepter become better.
  4. I dunno what people will think about this, but I'd just like to see a passive or a new ability that consumed the life force to give a big damage buff to help Necro become more competitive in PvE.Not another shround skill but some kind of a flat damage buff that lasts x amount of seconds for every life force consumed or something. It's just really annoying how poor the damage of Necro is in PvE because of the PvP balance.
  5. Now that you mentioned it, it actually surprises me a bit too.Releasing it on Steam too would probably give a nice player bump, I've found so many games or simply been reminded of their existence on Steam before and ended up buying them.
  6. Yeah I am sure it's not lag :/, my character continues to attack and it only happens during combat and especially after certain moves ( also more often with third hit on Thief I noticed ).Whenever I used Cloak and Dagger for example it's basically a gamble whether I'll be immobilized or not.It sounds more like you have a hardware problem that makes your keyboard/mouse fail when attempting chains of actions. Its a common problem that cheap keyboards and/or drivers can only handle a certain amount of keypresses at once. Have you verified that you can't continue to move with mousemove (hold both buttons) when this happens? (Especially beware of wireless input devices that can be affected by microwaves or battery quality/voltage problems.) Just because it happens only with GW2 doesn't mean anything. Most games aren't action games, GW2 is, and it'll always push your keyboard and mouse harder than other games outside of something like League of Legends and other MOBAs. There's various third-party utilities to fix DirectInput problems as well, use at your own risk. You can also try dx12pxy or DXVK to make the game more fluid. Or Linux+Lutris instead of Windows as a last resort.I have a Corsair k95 and a Razer Blackwidow mechanical keyboard, definitely not cheap. And my PC or connection not being powerful enough is definitely not the issue. And I've played a ton of action games before that involves constant animation cancelling and haven't had problems with them. GW2 isn't very intense in comparison with games I normally play.It also tends to happen a lot more frequently with certain Professions and abilities, usually the '' big abilities '' with longer animations I've noticed. I can't move using the mouse either :(. Edit: Often I have to dodge out of it, it's really like I've been immobilized by something and need to dodge to get out of it. That's basically how it feels when it happens.

  8. I dunno if I am doing something wrong or if it's a bug, but sometimes my character just becomes stuck. If I press forward nothing happens, no animation or anything it's like there is no button press at all. Anyone else have this problem? Is it a known bug or something? It's honestly really getting in the way of my enjoyment of the game :(, it's especially bad on Thief after Cloak and Dagger as well as the dodge when I play the staff build. It happens like every 2-3 casts or something almost and it makes it totally unplayable with the staff especially since I need to dodge to attack, but even with Cloak and Dagger I become stuck it's like I am immobilized even tho I am not. I am just wondering if maybe there's something I am doing wrong and am just not getting? I just got back into the game again and this is game breaking to me which is really sad because I do love the game, but I remember this being a problem before too and it's driving me crazy. To be clear this isn't a problem with my keyboard, I know that for a fact. This only happens in GW2 and I've tried two different keyboards.
  9. How is Scourge in PvE nowadays tho?I am thinking about jumping back into GW2 again and I really wanna play Necro but don't like the melee Reaper :(.I normally prefer to play casters in games and I remember when I played core condi necro was what scratched that itch for me while Ele didn't. More I look into Necro the more depressed I get about it, damage seems so low with Scourge being even lower?
  10. Thief needs buffs in PvE? Cries in Necromancer :'(
  11. Hey, I am thinking of perhaps picking up Path of Fire for the extra weapons and builds.Question I have is, is rifle Deadeye a good PvE option? Or daggers maybe? I am not a fan of staff, and daggers and rifle are the weapons appealing to me the most for Thief. How does rifle performe tho? It seems to be solely single-target damage basically and no cleave? When I look at guides and meta builds it mostly just seem to revolve around staff :/.
  12. I miss staff.I came back to the game a couple of days ago and staff ele was my fav but doesn't seem to be all that relevant anymore :/.It always bothered me that Ele never felt so much as a '' mage ''.I don't mean that they have to be a straight up generic mage, but I don't think that they feel so much like a spellcaster with any of the other weapons ( nor do any of the other Professions really ).
  13. Btw I thought I should ask here instead of make a new thread. Does anyone know why sometimes you get stuck in place and can't move in the middle of your rotation?Am I doing something wrong or what's happening? I've noticed this with thief and ele in particular, like if I am doing cloak and dagger and try and go to the back of my enemy my character will sometimes not move and be stuck in place.Same thing with my ele when I am doing my Tempest rotation and I am trying to move to grab my conjured weapon and I can't because my character just decides that she doesn't want to move for some reason <.<.I have no clue why this is happening, does anyone know what I am talking about and why that happens?
  14. Thanks for your comment Cyninja, I wouldn't say that time is necessarily an issue I am just a bit impatient when it comes to leveling haha. Now that you mention it I always skipped the story in GW2, I usually do in MMO's which I've sorta regretted a lot especially in FFXIV.I paid more attention to it in Blade and Soul back when I still played it and greatly enjoyed it and it made me regret having skipped it so much in past MMO's >.<. I've been thinking about perhaps deleting my Mesmer and going through the story from scratch to have a fresh experience with a Warrior, especially since I am not feeling the sword with Mesmer at all tbh. It's very boring and clunky imo. I think that what worries and bothers me is that I have a very annoying tendency to like classes and characters that are low tier/ the worst in games that I play <.<.So I start enjoying something and go '' oh god, what's wrong with it? '' and then I check the meta on websites and things don't look good and I go '' of fecking course... ''. Btw, how far into Path of Fire do you get your mount?Would you say that it's worth getting Path of Fire early on or should I wait until I am finished through the vanilla game and Heart of Thorns?
  15. Hey, I am returning to GW2 again and am thinking of perhaps picking up Path of Fire too!The problem that I have is that I haven't played in a loooong time and a lot has changed, I really barely played at all in Heart of Thorns tbh so I am sorta out of the loop there too.I have a couple of professions at 80, ele, necro, thief, guardian, revenant and then I also have a mesmer at 45 ( got loads of exp boosts so could take it to 80 in a day probably ).And I am sorta trying to pick between these and pick one that I can play, probably between my ele, necro or mesmer. I really like necro but I've sorta been looking around on forums and on different websites like snowcrows and they sorta seem to not be all that great in PvE at least :/, and I am not really all that fond of the idea of just being met with '' lol necro '' when I am trying to do content or to underperform because of it.Are necros way behind other professions?I like ele too, honestly it's probably quite even between them I'd say but mesmer just seems to always be wanted and seem to be REALLY good ( as far as I remember they pretty much always have ).Too bad that I am not a big fan of their sword skills tho >.<... Anyways, what would you guys recommend? Is your profession a big problem in end game content, are people pretty chill about it or does the usual '' MMO douchebaggery '' kick in and people just shut you out because of it?The numbers that I've seen have been quite unbalanced, necros seem to be quite behind and not offer much :/.And with mesmer it basically seems to be '' go sword or else ''... I'd take other suggestions and thoughts too.I have loads of exp boosts and such so even just leveling something new wouldn't be a problem.I am just trying to pick something that I can play and enjoy without too many headaches.Thoughts and opinions in regards to PvP are welcome too, but I think that I get my fill of that in fighting games lol. For the most part I am looking to mainly play PvE.Thanks!
