  1. Even as a thief (and therefore sometimes DE player), I find this to be an extremely abuse-able skin. It's very silly to be able to attack with virtually almost no sfx. It's one thing to have a "cartoony" or "toy-like" sfx on the rifle, but I've sniped people for their entire HP bar without them realizing they were even shot from a DE until it was way too late. I've also witnessed a fair few DE's in WvW (looking at you DH and current link) that have taken this for a ride. Yes, this skin is old, I know. And yes, it's been out forever, this I also recognize. But please increase the volume, or do something to make it more obvious. It's way, way too quiet.
  2. In any BL or EBG map, after 19:30 my local time I've been experiencing extreme lag. Ranging from 1.2k ping up to 3.8k ping at the worst. It's only an issue in EBG/BL maps, and I've only been able to recreate this issue in GW2. None of my other MMO's/games are experiencing so much lag while online. My standard/average ping over the last 6 years has been about 240 - 250 regardless of the of time of day. Has anyone been experiencing this issue? (Playing from SEA region). For ref: https://imgur.com/RPIgYrP .. the insane 3.8k Ping.
  3. I think this a great idea, they could call it the GW1 Elite "Moebius Strike" 😄 . Perhaps instead of throwing a projectiles, it strikes enemies from bottom to top for like x4 for 300 dmg per strike, and gives you an evade like Twist of Fate.
  4. I'm currently running a power build, notably Assassins/Marauder gear w/ pack runes, d/p, and am using DE. Most of my PVE cleave comes from Shadow Flare, and my sustain comes from Cloaked in Shadow (mostly via pistol 5) and Leeching Venoms. I am curious if anyone's got a similar build, but for condi, using d/d. (I really, really, want to feel like an assassin again from GW again! 😥) I'm open to any suggestion for Specs, even core 😄
  5. I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this! It's extremely frustrating to have only GW2 act this way.
  6. This happened to my wife's, my friends, and on my computer, across 4 separate instances. It's not our clients, sadly
  7. His wolves' textures are all messed up, looking really square, to say the least. I guess you can say that the wolves now have a...dangerous edge to them...!
  8. Cool :D then the solution works better than otherwise thought!
  9. Then that might be the source of your problem. Never install anything that isn't system-related in there. To avoid something like this from happening again, create your own Games folder outside of Program Files, preferably on a separate partition, and move the GW2 installation folder there. Don't forget to delete the Local.dat after you moved the files, and also delete the GW2 temp folders from the Temp directory. This wasn't the issue at all, I've posted the issue + solution above.
  10. Found a solution: Removed all Gw2 related exceptions from antivirus and put them back in. I put both the Screenshot folder as well as the installation folder paths as exceptions. Close and re-open GW2, and it worked!
  11. Have you added the GW2 installation folder to your antivirus's list of exceptions?Yep Have you installed GW2 in a separate Games folder outside of Windows' Program Files?Nope
  12. omg another person also having this issue! Hopefully it gets resolved sooner, rather than later... I'm not running any other add-ons to GW2, so I'm not sure what's causing the issue. What's the YoloMouse thing?
  13. The screenshot function suddenly stopped working, giving me an error message in the chat saying that the file is full. I actively clear out the screenshots in the folder and organize them elsewhere for keep-sake. This issue seems to have occurred immediately after the patch yesterday.
  14. Same situation as Katreyn. Not getting credit for it, sadly.
  15. For PVE (and WvW Sometimes), I run mostly this build: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PawAgqVlNw2YgsLGJe2WrNVA-zRZYBRHsFqiYI1Llmig2Kg+SgeDB1OIhxe4SeA-e You can swap out Staff for Shortbow, and you can replace Daredevil with Deadly Arts (Mid - Top - Mid) if you want to, as well. You can also swap out "Unhindered Combatant" for "Bounding Dodger" if you want extra stealth and heals from your leeching venoms that you get from Shadow Arts. This build is good for fighting a large group of mobs by yourself, and for general PVE use. The healing you get from blinds is significant, so pop your Black Powder's from your pistol and your Smoke Screen's when you're in need of extra healing.
  16. Sadly VPN isn't working. Sigh.. it's very weird since my S.O. can still play, yet I can't.
  17. Issue is as per title. My significant other can log in on the other side of the city, so just curious if others are experiencing this issue too.
  18. I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing this lol.. thought there was something wrong with my client.
  19. Being now a Thief main (formerly a Reaper main), I've been finding it a little tough clearing out the larger groups of Corrupted/Dominion during the Northern Part of Drizzlewood, especially in maps where the meta isn't really running. I'm curious about what some suggested classes may be. I'll revert to reaper for these achievements if I must, but am interested to hear what others are running to do this!
  20. -- removing comment due to OP's obnoxious, rude and misleading response --
  21. Will DRMs be available after this Saga ends? Will we get tokens specific to each DRM (and the related faction) or will it become generic ones, regardless of which DRM we complete? Will all previously possible awards be listed in a vendor inside EoTN at a later date?
  22. These are all great thoughts, I appreciate everyone's input! I think scepter could be an interesting addition to thief, as long as it's mid-ranged and not something far-reaching like Guardian scepter. If it's to do with close-ranged magic, or something that does local AoE, I think it'd fit with other thief playstyles, but just with more survivability and area denial, perhaps. As for Luxon cannons, I think we're all on a similar page here. However, I'd like to think that between Kurzick understanding of what is essentially Canthan-Druid magic, and Luxon Siege Turtles, Cantha would have the foundation required to develop some form of hand-held projectile, magic or not.
  23. Yes, I'm thinking along similar lines! As we've seen with Order of Whisper's pistol, it's got a silencer on it, so perhaps it's possible.
  24. So the question in the title has been eating away at me for a few years now, and even more so since it was announced we'd be heading to Cantha in EoD. I'm curious to explore this with other Thief/Assassin enthusiasts =) I was an Assassin player in GW1, and to-date, I've always tried to play my thief as if it were an Assassin as much as possible. I've played it primarily with D/D, and then moved to S/D while I was in WvW, because I enjoyed the idea of porting in and out of combat with Sword 2 (Just like Aura of Displacement in Gw1). I refrained from using any combination of pistol (despite it being a fairly strong PVE and PVP option) because of the role-play limits I've got on my character -- and that I didn't like that we had infinite ammo coming from front-loaded pistols. After having made HOPE, I became more comfortable using the pistol, but in the end it just didn't feel right. I felt I was betraying the idea of a true-to-form Tyrian Assassin. To this end, I'm curious to see if other ex-Assassin players would think it reasonable that a Canthan trained Assassin in today's Tyria, would in fact use a pistol in their arsenal. My thoughts are that for an Assassin (class wise), it'd make sense for them to adopt the pistol as it's a versatile weapon and they would try to get the kill as silently or at least as effectively as possible. Idk, curious for discussion and thoughts! (Also for EoD, I think it'd be pretty fun if we got axe/axe or main hand axe, which does aoe dmg and a 300 radius (like a magic-powered Kusarigama)).
