Wich turret in raid and strike ?

Why is the rifle-turret used in raid builds ? with the same build, the rifle turet does 476 damages every 2 seconds (238 damages per seconds) and his belt skill 1400 damages every 8 seconds (175 per second) for a total of 238+175=413 damages per second... the roket turret does 1450 damage every 4 seconds (362,5 per second) and his tool belt skil does 3050 damage every 25 seconds (122 damages per second) for a total of 362,5+122=484,5 damages per second... the roket version does 71,5 more damages per second than the rifle one, but it's the rifle one that is used in all raid builds, why ? is this due to the rifle turret tool belt skill has no cast time ? to the overload triggering at the initial activation balancing this aparent loss of dps in the case of the rifle turret ? something else ?

Haven't done the maths, but it's probably the instant activation-interrupting some other skill, even an autoattack, means you've lost the damage that skill would otherwise have done. I'm not sure off the top of my head that the build even bothers to put the turret down at all if it would interrupt the rotation to do so.

Rifle turret is placed down while you run at the encounter, then you basically don't bother anymore.

It deals 500 damage every 2 seconds, for a total dps of 250. In builds which aim for 35+k dps, this is absolutely meaningless. 250 dps doesn't even make up 1% of the damage output, that's how bad the turret is.

It is correct that the skill is run for it's toolbelt, it simply provides more dps than rocket turret's toolbelt.

Surprise shot has a power coefficient of 1.0 and a cooldown of 8 seconds, rocket has a power coefficient of 2.25 and a cooldown of 25 seconds. In the time for rocket to cool down, you get 3 casts of surprise shot, which add up to a total power damage coefficient of 3.0 against rocket's 2.25.

The fact that it is instant cast is also a huge factor, since being able to cast this ability off cooldown without having another cast time to consider in the rotation is quite handy. But even without this, surprise shot deals more dps than rocket in the end. And as mentioned, the turrets themselves are a non-factor. Their damage is so low that you won't notice them anyway.

You use rifle turret because the toolbelt ability is free dmg, it's instant cast and doesn't interrupt whatever you use.
Both rocket turret and rifle turret are DPS losses and rocket toolbelt is a dps loss to press, you got other buttons and cast times to joggle trough.
Rifle toolbelt you can just spam in whenever, cause it ain't stopping whatever other attack you got going

So if you had to cast Rifle toolbelt people wouldn't use it either, it's only because it's "free" dmg
