Please change fishing controls

Or even add a settings option:

 

"Use left and right strafe keys for fishing?" Yes/No

"Use special action key for anglers sense?" Yes/No

"Use stow weapon to reset fishing pole?" Yes/No

 

I play on controller with skills bound to my thumbstick. This causes me to sometimes accidentally reset my fishing pole when trying to keep the box in like with the green when fishing using skills 2 and 3. I could probably get used to it so this doesn't happen - but this is just not good design to begin with. Left and right strafe keys should be what makes the box go left and right, not arbitrarily skills 2 and 3. And special action key for anglers sense just makes... sense. Everything else in this game is special action key. And having stow weapon reset your line would also be nice. When you stow your fishing pole in real life - you reset your line. Please do these changes. These changes make logical sense and keep the game consistent with itself and are ergonomic. (Unlike chairs throughout tyria where some are weapon swap to stand up, some are mount to stand up, and some are skill 6 to stand up)

i can say at least that strafe does work for the fishing minigame, even if it isnt mentioned anywhere

Yep, my strafe keys are how I do it as well.  I have them mapped to the left and right arrow keys on my keyboard.
