Jagged Mind in WvW

Why is Jagged Mind nerfed into near uselessness in WvW and PvP? compared to nearly every other condi trait in the game?

Because we can't have Mesmer running around killing people with condis. 

It's necros job to vomit out so many condies in a 1v1, that people go back to PvE.

funny but it honestly does not really answer the question.

To answer your question seriously, a while back they changed almost all "inflict damaging condis on crit" traits in competitive modes to be only 1s duration. I believe this was done in the big competitive balance patch of Feb of 2020 and the reasoning was to reduce the amount of passive condi pressure people can inflict. So this is not exclusive to Mesmer.

 

Unfortunately they chose to follow this same philosophy for Virtuoso despite it only triggering from blade crits, and also creating a new weapon that gets 100% of its condition application from this trait.

^ That. I was yet another piece of the Feb2020 balance patch that failed completely, along with the Hard CC damage nerf and the 300s CD traits.

that can't be right, because if it was, it would in in line with Sharper Images. As it stands it's far weaker than Sharper Images, they are identical traits except Jagged mind grant's 3% of it's damage as healing, ... which is basically little to nothing compared to say a necromancers Parasitic Contagion.
