I don't like the new Canach

Not talking about his voice acting and I know that its a different guy and now he's "sounds funny" that's understandable.  

No!  I'm talking about whatever happened to the Social Justice Warrior from Season 1?  Whose explosives freed countless souls from indentured servitude!  Where is that Canach??

 

What did he become?  A Casino owner!  He is the "the man" he once fought against!

 

Canach!  Say it isn't so!

Indeed. Where is the villainous Canach that freed settlers by blowing them up and sending rabid wildlife on them.

Where is the Canach that ran away from due punishment and was more obsessive with his personal gains and goals than helping the people.

 

Perhaps the one release Canach will be part of in Season 1's return will remind you, but Canach said this:

Canach: But the truth is, I did not wish to escape. I've made more than my share of mistakes already.
Canach: I'm determined to serve my time and pay my debt. And even more determined not to put myself in this position again.

Canach: A Southsun settler contacted me recently. She thanked me for my efforts, but decried my methods. I know how she feels.

Nostalgia and memories of 10 years ago is apparently very tinted indeed, since the Canach you ask for never actually existed. Canach was not a warrior of justice, but a bioterrorist sworn to petty vengeance that used justice as an excuse. There was even cut dialogue with Kiel that goes deeper into this.

Indeed. The only reason why he went after the Consortium was because a) they blamed him for the entire karka situation and b) they sent assassins after him. He never cared about "taking down the man" or the like, he just voiced his dislike of the Firstborn's ego.
