Carapace Duration

A reliable method of stacking Carapace quickly is the combination of Corrupter's Fervor with Unyielding Blast, especially on Reaper.
Another easy solution is to combine Corrupter's Fervor with axe auto-attack.

If you run a minion-build, you can combine Death Nova with Superior Rune of the Lich. DN summons a Jagged Horror upon killing an NPC, the rune summons a permanent Jagged Horror. The minions summoned by DN are caped at 5, the rune minion does not count to the cap. So you can run with a total of 6.

If Unholy Sanctuary is mandatory in your build? If you run a condition build, you can pick Shrouded Removal. Condi on Necormancer usually involves corruption-skills, which means you stack conditions on yourself and transfer them. That triggers the trait.

I don't think it stacks with concentraition, so your best bet is to generate carapace as often as possible. What major adept perk are you using in death magic to give yourself carapace?

Using Corrupters Ferver, trying to keep 25 stacks up stacking vulnerability. I wasnt sure if there was anyway to increase the duration, like you can with boons. Thanks for the help.

Thats great info thank you. I have been stacking it with the axe attack and corrupters fervor, it works ok, but i keep falling below 25 stacks, so i was trying to find ways to increase the duration. I dont think there is any though. I'll just have to try and manage it a bit better.

There is one option you can try. But it only works in Open World and old instances. It has been disabled almost everywhere else. A little weird to set up, but works great imo:

You need to go to Bloodfin Lake in Iron Marches - that is the place which is crowded with ghost 'farmers'. At the waypoint is a bridge, on the other side of the bridge is a small camp of the Garbage Legion. You need to talk to Rexavian Redfoot and start a small event-chain. They patrol around the lake and need to be escorted/defended. After the 2nd event, Rexavian becomes a vendor that sells Skale Venom.

It is a special potion that occupies your utility-buff-slot (e. g. sharpening stones). It needs to be refreshed every 10 minutes, no option to stack it. What does it do? It inflicts Weakness and Vulnerability with a 10 % chance on any hit (not critical). 10 % sounds low, but if you run stuff like Reaper and can maintain self-quickness, this makes stacking carapace a joke. Even without quickness, this should help you reach 25 stacks with axe.

EDIT: If you want an option that is less difficult to set up, try a Superior Sigil of Frailty. But this requires you to hit your target from the side/behind.

Thanks for the reply. Sounds interesting enough to check a look just for novelty sake :D

Frailty is a good idea too! I've been using the one that causes bleed on a crit, maybe i'll run both.

Carapace is implemented rather poorly as it doesn't refresh/replace itself. Your problem might be that you are bursting your initial Carapace application.

If for example you were to apply 30 Carapace to yourself in a second, all individual stacks then have a duration of 10 seconds each - and it doesn't matter how much Carapace you apply to yourself after that, they won't replace older already existing Carapace stacks even with their duration running out - so after those 10 seconds duration run out you are back to 0 Stacks, no matter how many new stacks you applied even just a second prior.

Therefor Carapace is always a build and drop to a certain degree, ironically though worse so the more and faster application you have. If you generate it more slowly it's less noticeable, as you can quickly replace the staggered initially applied stacks running out as they drop off.

There is no way to extend the duration - and that wouldn't help with the fall off of initial stacks either anyway.

I think you are right, i think i am having an issue where im stacking full and then it all drops off, so the difference is huge, then its all over the place for the rest of the fight. I'll try and change my fighting style around, thanks for the tips.
