Caiyn.7963
Hey together, i am not sure if any of ArenaNets staff takes a look at the forum here and there, or if this is the right category to ask that question, but how in the world is it possible, that a game literally called !GUILD! wars does not have an in game tool to promote your guild. I mean even Black Desert Online has that, which allows you to describe your guild briefly, and allows all other players to send a join request. I really wished that GW2 had such an option implemented into the game. It would make the process of getting players together for a common cause so much easier... Let me know what you think, All the best! Caiyn
HighlyCaffeinated.4176
There is a section in the looking for group tab for guilds, that guilds can and do promote their guilds in.
KenoZuki.5082
I personally don't know of any MMOs that have an in game option to promote their guild. But there is usually a forum thread to use.

The problem is that the list only included the top guilds for (PvP points) contribution (in GW2 it could be for guild commendations for example, to also revamp/incentive doing guild missions), but it would be impossible to list them all, so small guilds would be invisible. Another problem was that the guild leader had to accept the applications, and many guilds were inactive, so people applied and they remained stuck in that application process. There was no way to tell if a guild was dead, unless the guild leader wrote it in the description or disabled the applications. It could be done also in GW2, but there would be some limitations for sure.

Playing on NA servers since a bit before HoT release, I don't think I've ever seen a guild recruiting there that wasn't either Brazilian or one of those guilds recruiting numbers solely to have a higher player population in their guild. I've also never seen more than two guilds at a time using it, probably because it's stuffed away in the deepest recesses of the LFG tool instead of being something that could be strapped to the guild panel for better means of guild advertisement. I mean, you'd think it'd make sense for someone looking for a guild to check the guild panel for that, but that's just my opinion.

It's a pretty good interface, especially considering STO's age.
