Thoughts on Charr Faces?

I can't say I've ever really noticed much clipping with the spikes and hats myself. My issue has always been with certain headwear completely deleting my charr's long hair. I know other games learned to substitute a flatter version of the hair for hats, but I know the counter point is always "other priorities".

I'm not asking for the ugly faces to go away for those that like them, simply to have more faces a bit more like the female ones, without all the facial spikes or teeth jutting out like we rammed face-first into a wall and need a dentist, or those face-painted ones look very out of place. Something roughly like Bangar's as an example. I know his face is probably unique because reasons, but it's an idea at least.

I mean, you say this, but even the wiki article's example image has a way more attractive face than most default male Charr options, even with big huge teeth (though mostly I feel it's because they got the proportions right the first time).

Wow. If that's considered attractive, charr need some help. I'm surprised he can even close his mouth at all.

Human attractiveness features do not count with Charr, they have theirs.
Simply play human (or Norn).

Ha. That looks a lot better than the other model. I still think having a few non-spiky / non-toothy faces to pick from would be a good idea, just from an option and variety perspective. From the side those two look better than from the front. Actually kind of cute with that underbite xD Maybe I'll use one of them after all. From the front they looked too scary.

One face paint belongs to the Olmakahn lore. It's a more peaceful Charr tribe far away from the influence of the High Legions. Met in living world 4.

Of the charr I only like 2 default female faces (top left, top middle) and only 2 of the "exclusive" (Makeover kit) male ones (Exclusive 1 and 3). Sadly the exclusive faces also clip with pretty much EVERY GODDAMN HELMET, AND 90% OF HEAD GEAR TAKES YOUR HAIR AWAY.

Yeah. I use Exclusive 1 for male charr myself. It's the closest to what I'm after, but the spikes all over the cheeks and forehead make it clip something bad even with charr hairstyles, let alone headwear.

I'd like to see some more unique male Charr faces as well myself. Some examples of ones we can't really get close to making ourselves but are still very much typical Charr style:

With enough slider tweaking you can de-uglify most of the Charr faces, but there's a pretty narrow range of values which actually look good imo. If they ever did a graphics update for the playable races (which I think is long overdue) then I'd hope they would change this along with just adding more options in general.

I always managed to make good looking ones for occasional weekly key farming, but maybe that's just my taste.

But you're also comparing the male default faces with the female makeover kit faces. My male permanent char(r) with makeover kit face: https://imgur.com/dtvzzdR I would say he's not cute, but also not ugly. 

I just wish the old faces/details didn't have such low quality textures.

That's actually the face I'm using now, I just shrunk the teeth to the minimum and tilted the jaw in to hide them. Looks a little messed up when he opens his mouth though.
