There are even some more out there ideas like bringing Focus and Shield to the right hand.

Warrior objectively wasn't running out of options yet.

The thought did strike me that MH pistol and shortbow were the obvious counterexamples. I did say "were running out" rather than "have run out" quite deliberately.

I suspect that once they decided that they were going to move water weapons to land, though, they wanted to do it sooner rather than later (so future Black Lion sets would have those weapons included), and if land spear is going to be a thing, it'd be weird if warrior didn't have it. For better or worse.
