Hero point training??

You can search online for what skills are commonly used. It’s difficult to say what you can go for as you can get away with pretty much any build in open world PvE. Don’t worry too much as you’ll get enough to max out everything but the elite specializations just by getting to level 80.

Just my opinion but i feel there are 2 routes you could take. when starting out i think you would gain most from beastmastery first. And running shouts and signets. I always found traps to be lacking. The other thought would be going into wilderness survival and running survival skills as they are good at keeping enemy conditions off of you.I dont recommend marksmanship because without synergy from other lines, and not being able to reapply 'opening strike' its kinda blah. Skirmishing is best for condition damage, but power is better for leveling quickly. Spotter is good but really shines in group content. Nature magic is a nice line but wont help you kill faster.

I'd recommend beastmastery every day. When I leveled vanilla-way back in the day I usually had a DPS pet (cat) for most stuff and a tank pet (bear) for tougher foes. If you want to play safe, run a longbow (and marksmanship is a viable choice together with BM in that case) - but I'd recommend using a melee weapon (Sword/Axe, Greatsword etc). But any weapon is as viable as you make it!

As for skills - I recommend shout skills and signets :) Sooner or later you'll have them all anyways! Best way is to learn by trying everything!

A few remarks.1: at level 80 you will have gained 398 heropoints just as level up rewards2: all core skills and specialisations together will cost you exactly 398 heropoints (As if they designed it that way!) (note this is excluding elite specialisations)

So every path you take is just a temporary decission and there is no wrong going.I like to mix them up and often look at the elite skill I want to use. For levelling I would say that strenght of the pack is the best one to take. so you nbeed to max out shouts. For the rest, bring one or two spirits, shouts, traps andi survival. Just also remember to have a good amount of points in spare to get the specialisation once you can equip one (more)
