Upgrade - Which game version to buy

Hey all,Newb question to be sure. I’m now F2P and want to upgrade.

If I buy, Heart of Thorns, Does it include the “ Original Core game content “ ?

Yes it does. Both Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire include access to the full version of the base game so they can be used to upgrade a free account or create a brand new account.

But unless something has changed recently you have to have a paid account to post on this forum. You might only have a base game account with no expansions, but you'll still have the full version so you won't gain any extras for the base game by upgrading. A simple way to check is to see if there's an advert on screen when you're in-game prompting you to upgrade to a full account (if I remember correctly it's on the left side near the party menu) or check if you can write in map chat. If you can then you have a paid account.

Edit: Another easy check is if you get login rewards - those are only available to paid accounts.

I would pick Path of Fire. One good reason amongst many are the mounts.

F2P accounts, HoT and PoF all have the core game in it.
