Shing Jea looks kinda bad??

Isn't, like, really everything in GW2 much more vibrant compared to GW1? If i remember correctly, they did this to attract more people. GW1 overall was much darker, not only visually but also in its story. 

I don't see the problem. I'm looking forward to stroll around in cantha.

Of course it looks bad, they did the same thing they did with Istan, colors that make you nauseous and a thick blue/white fog everywhere that limits your vision. I would probably like both a bit more if they were seperate new maps, but it seems like they are just inferior versions of older maps that were   aesthetically superior. Cantha had a unique feel to it I can't explain and so far from everything I've seen including concept art, they haven't hit that mark again which is sad because they usually do environments so well.
