Steam Release still happpening?

I can't stress this enough how big of a deal steam release could be for this game, I have watched multiple "what mmos are coming out in 2021 & 2022" videos and GW2 EoD never seems to be even mentioned. Its sad to see such a gem of a mmo not get the advertising it deserves. Especially in the current drought of quality mmorgps, was just curious if they have touched on still going through with steam release.

'They' have not said, one way or the other.  Just that it was 'postponed until further notice', so to speak.

As far as we know, it's still going to happen some day.

It's just indefinitely delayed into the future.

I hope they're savvy enough to know that they should at least make sure the game's ready for Steam at the same time as or before EoD drops.

EoD isn't releasing till next year, so yeah, we've got some time. And if I'm predicting things right, ANet wants to reserve all of its heavy hitting features until at least the EoD release date comes close, and then just come in f***ing swinging, firing on all cylinders. When that date comes, boom. Steam release, EoD release, DX11 revamp, and WvW overhaul all blasting at once.

 

Or at least, that's what I'd do anyway.
