Current Event (Mechanist Ninn)

I'll try to keep this as spoiler lite as possible.

Is it possible for the progress for Mechanist Ninn's task to be account bound rather than character bound? The quest marker above his head irritates me, and he seems fond of sending a mail to each and every one of my characters to visit him to complete a fetchquest. When the reward is a less detailed version of what is already on Dulfy, why should he get such prominance? Why can't he just fade into the background once I get my AP?

I've completed the fetch quest, received the device and got my AP. My problem is that the fetch quest isn't complete on my other characters, although I guess it's easy enough to simply delete the mails and pretend my home instance doesn't exist. ;)

I just thought it would be a nice touch, since the event doesn't seem to add anything special.

What event is this that everyone is referring to? I never got anything in the mail about it and have not seen any event NPC's around town.

It's a stealth current event. You don't get info on it until you've participated.

Check out Dulfy and look for Awakened Threats event.
