Character changed locations while at character select screen.

I left one of my characters near the Temple of Kormir, went to the character screen and got occupied with something then when I went back in the character was in the City of Amnoon right between the waypoint and emporium POI. Did the admins reset something in the last two hours?

Sometimes, the client loses track of where a character was/is/ supposed to be. Skritt happens.

Could be related to disconnects also. I just had one happen.

Yes, that could cause a loss of information between the server and the client.

I’ve had it happen with disconnects. The game forgets where you are and moves you to a wp.The other day I was in Malchor’s Leap and starting lagging pretty bad so I logged out and logged back in. My char was moved from beside the tree harvesting spot to near the portal (and it was under the map).

Wouldn't it be the server that keeps track of where you were when you logged out? If you log in from a different computer how would that client know where to put you?

This issue happens to me a lot in a very repeatable and predictable way. Usually it goes like this:1) go to a new map/zone2) log out to char select screen3) log back in to same char4) now that char is in a position as if they just zoned in to that map

if I log in to a different char first then the issue doesn't happen.

Not sure of applicable, but if I remember correctly there is an event at that wp that might have been in progress when you logged in. If you were standing somewhere where, say - some boxes were summoned to limit an area all of a sudden the game needs a new place to put you. And indeed it seems to use waypoints for this. Since there's only 3 wps or something on that map I guess they use the uncontestable ones, which is the amnoon one in this case.
