Antonina/Mini Failed Attempt

Does anyone know, if you forge the mini to make the weapon, does it still unlock the mini or do you need to remake it?

Minis are (for some reason) different than gear in that they don't unlock when thrown in the MF. :/

I think it's because minis are basically just a skin, so if throwing them in the MF unlocked it and got you a new one it would basically give you a bunch of free skins.

Which is especially undesirable for Anet when they keep releasing sets of minis which require the forge to complete. It used to be the 3-packs sold in the gem store where you had to buy a second set to Forge with another item to make a 4th mini (e.g. using the ghost, spider and skeleton to make the mini chainsaw skeleton), now it's things like the baby mounts from the black lion chests. If you could unlock the 'lower level' ones by making the later ones then everyone would need to buy a lot less of them.

I'm not saying that's good - I'd have saved a lot of money (both gold and real money) over the years if it didn't work that way. But I think that's why Anet did it.
