HoT adjustments

Now that HoT is really not "the end game" anymore (Yes, I know it's still viable content and should remain so), should there be a tuning pass to make it more manageable for less populated maps and solo players? Not removing the metas or anything, but downgrading some of the champs to veterans, and improving accessibility to certain areas to make exploration less dependent on the state of the metas. Stuff like that.

HoT is more endgame than PoF. PoF has almost no map wide meta events, and HoT meta events are going strong still (and will increase even more once people are done with PoF).

Accessibility I assume you mean lockouts due to events since with mounts, HoT is more accessible than ever before.

Not sure making HoT over simple is in the games interest. The maps are already not as hard as when HoT launched and for most stuff there is groups via LFG available. Hero points farms are at a new high currently with people wanting the PoF elite specialisations unlocked asap.

Difficulty wise (from an enemy design) I'd say HoT and PoF are quite similar. Except that HoT has a lot more narrow areas. That's how expansions should be I feel for GW2 without creating the necessity for powercreep.

Considering the ease of PoF's HPs and the difficulty of navigating HoT's zones (who wants to spend half an hour figuring out the path to an HP only to not be able to kill it?), I think downgrading Champs to Vets for HPs would be nice.

No, I understand what OP is saying I've noticed it to. The metas in some places are becoming a bit ghost towny lol. Was this past saturady, I hit a meta in auric basin at 7pm est was a ghost town like maybe 15 people for entire meta. South couldn't get the bomb to the vine west had 4 ppl not sure about north and east, but they got to burn stage 10 mins faster than the rest (rest was only @ half bar by time one would say burn all lol) it was rough all around. Chaos and confusion at it's finest!This was in prime hours of game playing on a weekend.

So I get what he/she is saying about population. Believe me if you been in PoF you wouldn't notice, because thats where everybody went lol. With that said though, PoF is new and we should expect HoT to fade out for a bit, let everyone burn themselves out on PoF content and you will slowly see things come back to normal as people will start to weigh in on what they enjoy best. PoF contents or HoT contents.

Were you using the LFG? I have never had issues no matter what time to find people for Auric Basin Meta. Maybe you ended up on an empty map since organised maps fill up fast.

What needs to be updated in HoT is unhinging Dragon Stand from its meta timer and letting each map exist without a timer until the meta actually starts. Then lock players out from taxiing once the Mouth battle starts.

With the new mounts and elites players already got a buff so it is worth waiting 3 months to see how things settle down imo.

HoT was never endgame, it was poorly designed gameplay.

Considering HoT has more replayability than PoF, nerfing it would be a silly decision. I know I am not going to play PoF maps anymore in 1-2 weeks time because everything will be completed.

Why would I use LFG I don't care if it fails or not. I took care of all my HoT related group stuff the day PoF was first spoke about and leading up to it's release.I seen this day coming long time prior to release. I am old GW1 player same thing happened when new expansions released there. Only difference, we had henchman didn't really effect those that didn't migrate to new content as badly. Just how it goes anyone that didn't take care of stuff before release, well that's their fault they should have prepared and or expected it.

Only thing I was doing, was explaining why this guy felt like he was feeling. Everybody including yourself misunderstood what he was getting at. Personally, I can solo everything in HoT except metas and Champ HPs, i rarely mess with them much anymore anyways. Just don't need to do them, just happened to see that night people was in need of help. I dropped in to offer what i could. Just a passersby'er pretty much. I was in auric basin for other reasons.

You literally said metas are becoming ghost towns, which is simply not true. There is usually 2-3 maps doing the different metas during prime time and 1 minimum during off times (except for VB maybe).

It would have made more sense to tell TC how to find full maps if he wants to do metas instead of going on a rant about how the content is becoming abandoned (which it is not).

HoT isn't less populated. It's just as populated before because the PoF maps are already being abandoned and people are returning to it. Meta maps are STILL overflowing even at odd hours.

If PoF style maps are what we can expect going forward we can expect the total population of the game to decline though. One dimensional throwaway maps that lack replay value is not healthy for a game like GW2.
