I used Greatsword/Scepter+Shieldhttps://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Guardian_-_Radiant_GreatswordThis thread is from 2017. Most people know by now (not to mention it was nerfed). Cynder.2509
Just git gud. Story "bosses" are easy. Just make sure you have enough CC for that boss. 10 years and people still don't know what CC is... 1

I'm not sure why Eater of Souls threads always seem to get the necro treatment, but since we do have a lot of new players working their way through the story here's some real information on how to handle this fight. The key is to utilize the defiance bar (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Defiance_bar) - Definitely read up on this if you don't know what a defiance bar is! You'll know when to do it because the second bar located beneath the boss's health bar will go from a plated appearance to blue. As the wiki article explains, use crowd control ("CC") effects (these include any kind of stun, daze, knockdown, push, pull, float, etc. but also effects like slow, chill, cripple and weakness) to damage the blue bar. This prevents his attack and stuns him, granting you several seconds to deal damage freely. Here's an example of how this fight is done without cheesing the boss into objects.
