    Same thing here. Tried to buy gems on the 31st, clicked confirm -- the window closed and that was it. No error message, no gems. Sent in a ticket, waiting for a response.

    Edit: I tried again and this time there was an error message, but it came and went so fast I couldn't read it. So I tried again and managed to get a screenshot of it. It said, "Unfortunately an error has occurred. Please try again later!"

  • My wife and I are both having this issue too. Using different cards, or ones that have recently worked.

  • Throwing my hat into the mix too. Had no issues prior to this week!

    Submitted the ticket already and waiting.

  • I also have been having this issue since dec 27, 2018. Had no problem the last time in the fall with this same card. Also tried paypal, got the same error

  • Checking back -- tickets from hunter and Darkwind Suul are quite recent, so perhaps they're still awaiting help. But have the others been resolved?

  • This is happening to me as well! I'm trying to buy gems so I can get something before it goes off sale!! I do not want to wait FOUR DAYS for a fix to a billing issue that shouldn't exist in the first place! If Digital Rivers cannot sell Gems properly find another ingame reseller! Hello?!

    I actually just don't even want to play the game anymore. And the support ticket is asking for a lot of unneeded information.

    I also cannot purchase gems now, have no had problems in the past. Tried both Paypal and Mastercard.

  • I can't buy gems either. I tried PayPayl and different credit cards. I have alot of free time this weekend and was looking forward to playing GW2. How long does this take to resolve?

    Make sure to send in a support ticket about Payment issues. I got a response in about 2 hours, however they said they would get back to me (it has now been approx 4 hours since,) ... so the timeframe for the fix isn't definite.

    I submitted a ticket on the website. I also went online and bought two Gem Cards. I entered the codes for those and it didn't accept those either. Very frustrating !

    Oh my.. I thought about taking that route and now I'm glad I didn't! I'm sorry to hear it though, I hope they'll get back to you shortly since it's now daylight.

    Mine has been -- got an email Thursday evening saying I was good to go, and when I logged in Friday morning I was indeed able to buy gems. Thanks guys!

  • I put in a ticket on jan 4 and have received a response on the 6. I was able to make a purchase and everything seems fine.

  • Same problem for me today. Confirmed with my bank and credit card company that the issue is not on their side. Frustrating.

  • I'd like to know how this is flagged as resolved, it's clearly not. As huge amounts of people STILL have this problem.

    I bought gems a week ago now get issues buying them now. WHAT GIVES?!

  • It was 'flagged' (edited by the OP) as 'resolved' because the particular issue from several months ago was addressed.
    It's usually a case-by-case issue, rather than a systemic issue; contact the Billing CS Team for assistance.

    Hmm, as of today, during the last step of the payment process, I am always getting send back to the starting page of the "Buy Gems" screen where I can select the payment method.

    No error message or information text shows up. Just does not work. It does not matter what payment method I select. What's going on?

    Hey, I can't buy gems either through card nor paypal.

  • I cant purchase gems but I am fine with this honestly. prevents me from those impulse buys. So I thank you anet :)

  • I'm having the same problem too, but only a week ago I was able to buy gems with no issue. Now, I cannot. I've tried two different cards and PayPal.

  • There is a little workaround for those who have friends and don't want to wait. You give your friend the money via Paypal or any other method you prefer and he buys it for you as a gift. For me this worked!

I submitted a ticket the way that has been suggested and got a response that they are looking into it. Waiting patiently now.     Can confirm this issue is still happening, what a load of kitten. As if gem prices weren't already awful, now we can't even kitten buy them. And then they get pissy if someone goes to a third party site to buy gold.
    WELL MAYBE IF YOUR kitten WORKED, THOSE THIRD PARTY SITES WOULDN'T BE TAKING ALL YOUR BUSINESS.

  • I've had the same issues. Haven't been able to buy gems for a week.

    I've contacted support, if anyone gets a reply back, let us know if there was anything you could do on your own end to fix please :)

  • Figured i'd may aswell chime in aswell in the can't buy gems because of a brief abrupt error. Put in a ticket in support very early yesterday and got a response that they're looking into it, hoping for more news soon! <3

  • I have this issue now but probably won't buy gems until this issue gets fixed like everyone else because tickets take too long D:

  • Same problem for me. It's hard to buy something on the promotion as you can not buy gems. They do not want our money.

  • Same problem for me, both yesterday and today. It hits the error after agreeing to the digital river terms and conditions. In my case I want to use PayPal, and it errors before a PayPal window even opens.

    like i give you Mooney and you can't accept it.. there is a limited time item i want to buy i submit a ticket and you gonna answer me in 3 days. in 3 days maybe this item will not be there, is this normal! for you to answer your tickets so late? also why in Greece there are not pay safe purchases, are you aware that the ban has been lifted over a year now.

  • They can't help with this type of issue on the forums. You got no choice but to submit a ticket and wait for them to help you.

    Posting multiple topic's on the forums about the same issue won't help you here. Submit a ticket and wait.

Unbelievable that a problem like this wouldn't be given top priority, I can't imagine how much money they're losing every day simply because people literally can't give them their money. And from this thread it sounds like it's been going on for quite a while! What an absolute blunder...

    Buy gems from a card-store (you can google them), you can redeem the code in-game, plus you get more gems for your money.

  • Just got back to the game, trying to buy some gems since yesterday, submitted a ticket 18 hrs ago, still waiting for reply.

    Made all the tricks in the hat:
    -off/on computer/router
    -off/on antivirus/firewall
    -used same cc from the expansions purchase
    -not from Belgium.

    Anyone got it solved?

    Instead of fixing the underlying problem, they want every single person that has this issue to submit a problem ticket. I have to assume they either don't want our money or this is a job security thing.

    Ticket #7220931 ,from Germany, using Visa that worked in the past.

    Please get RID of Digital River, they clearly have a terrible track record and are unable to perform, recently. My personal low with them is a 3 month silence on their side about an order from a pc hardware company (Logitech) for a spare part. Never got any mail about a delay, or a reply to my attempts to get any information about it.
    Since my Visa, which worked in the past, is a prepaid, I can not 'simply try another way'.

  • Ticket # 7221643. I'm having the same issue detailed in this thread. I'm not feeling so confident that I just gave a company my credit card info and have no response on anything. I tried twice, to see if I did something wrong. Now I'm super worried I will be charged twice. :(

    Nope, you get less, also why should anyone do this? just because anet and whateverthename is company cant get their stuff working?
