  1. It seems we are stuck with scrappers being broken for a very long time now, cata/tempest still overperform. Is a balance patch coming? eveytime I face 2 scrappers or tempest/scrapper I just lose the will to play pvp.. Seems to me that being able to run at superspeed while being able to hit powerful abillities (like scrapper nades and ele scepter) is a big problem right now, auras and CC spamming too.
  2. I know I'm a bit late to the party, I just wanted to say I really like willbender's playstyle, F1 feels really impactful, heaven's palm's animation is super cool, sure the other physical skills are a bit underwhelming, but oveerall playing a guardian-ninja feels awesome!
  3. Still perma super speed with 360 nade spam that hits like single target melee bursts of other specs. Melees can't touch this spec, it melts anything. This playstyle is oppressive and annoying. It deserves another hit.
  4. Hi! I think it's a bit of a shame off-hand sword is underperforming currently, and I've thought about a creative way to buff it! Focusing (pun intended) on the off-hand sword's skill 4: Executioner's Calling (Skill 4): Increase the damage of the first attack from 0.4 coef to 1, and add a 2 sec knockdown to it. Increase the damage of the second portion of the skill from 4x 0.33 to 4x 0.66. I think the CC/breakbar would be very thematic and engaging, and the damage buff would better match the animation and help off-hand sword compete with focus and condition variations. This is just my humble suggestion, thanks for reading!

  6. I just can't bring myself to play pvp in this meta, scrapper 1 shotting from stealth, running with superspeed throwing nades backwards. SPB's taking x3 longer to die than anything else just because of full counter. Tempest literally the single most annoying spec to ever exist in the game, brings way too much CC and sustain while being immune to crits 90% of the time. Cata just busted with unavoidable damage and incredible sustain, why Fresh Air and Air are its main source of damage - unavoidable damage shouldn't be high. Virt (and chrono too) has immunity to damage with about 80% uptime, I don't think complete invulnerability should be something so spammable. Hopfuly these problems will be resolved shortly with a balance patch...
  7. Kinda feels like damage guardian specs have to run berzerker's for competetive damage, but having 11.6k hp is just not viable in higher ranks. Maybe Virtues last minor talent would also grant power or ferocity based on vitality (atm it grants condition dmg) it would be viable to take Marauder's? Or maybe Hunter's Determination could also grant 100-200 vitality? atm it's a nice desgin for a talent but rather weak. It would only benefit DH but that's something too. Seems to me guardians are shoe-horned into support which tempest just does better, for a pretty long time now. Willbender can get away with marauder but it can't really justify its damage compared to its lackluster defensives, They always feel like the easiest target compared to other specs. It just feels like I either have to choose either "low to medium damage and low health" or "insane damage and insanely low health", I'd really like for something in between.
  8. why are you trying to pretend scrapper isn't insanely op right guy, it deals way too much damage from range with nades by just spamming. or running away and throwing nades backwards with superspeed, it's degenerate gameplay, it deals way too much damage for the range, aoe size, versatility it has. Not to mention that is partly ignores los and pretty much ignores single blocks like aegis. haing 16k with tons of superspeed, blocks, and long stealth is having high sustain for a spec that can be played almsot completely from 900 range. Nobody likes playing against it, other specs were nerfed while being much weaker. Nades have always been a problem, almost every other patch there's an engi spec abusing it. I don't tink Anet would change anything about the mechanics of grenade kit, like the shooting backwards thing. Hopefuly its damage will be adjusted by -20% at least. I don't think anything else should be changed about scrapper/engi as a whole.
  9. I'm not sure what changed with scrapper exactly, but it is just dealing insane amounts of damage from stealth. they seem to have a lot of sustain and mobility aswell. I think the game works best when high damage is telegraphed, getting hit by 15k dmg from stealth by a superspeeding scrapper just doesn't feel fair.
  10. The amount of CC and sustain it has is just a bit much in my opinion, can't think of a weakness it has. Immunity to crits, decent condi removal, ok damage for support/bunker, projectile hate, spammable auras/chills/cripple/daze. It's just too much imo. Not sure what nerf it deserves, but just the fact that it's a nightmare to play against one is a reason enough to nerf it, just like Trapper runes were nerfed because stealth on DH was annoying even though it was a B tier spec.
  11. Support guard is the only meta spec, but the off meta specs aren't that bad. You can play: (excluding LB trapper) - GS Mediguard (zerker/marauder) - Hammer mediguard (zerker/valk) - Burn mediguard - Burn DH - Burn support hybrid - GS full glass cannon trapper DH with dragon's maw Though you can make your own build, I've climbed to plat 2 by playing a Hammer variant of the LB trapper build and it worked very well for me.
  12. The classes are just not balanced for this game mode. Some utilities need to be banned, like Lich Form. Maybe even downstate should be disabled, so supports can't carry this hard. It's just a very unenjoyable experience unless you're really into Reaper.
  13. I think the off season is a good time to reflect about how balanced the game is for 2v2 or 3v3. The game not only has incredible balance for its main abandoned game mode, it also has top quality balance for its forced 2 weeks break, which I personally am thankful for.
  14. As a mostly pvp player, I stepped into instanced pve content lately (fractals, strikes). There was something that felt really off and it would probably sound weird to you - having quickness and alacrity up all the time. It caused the gameplay to be too button-mashy for my taste. I play a guardian, and in open world using "Feel My Wrath" for a bit of quickness feels nice, but if I have it all the time it kind of loses its point. If bosses are balanced around it then what's the point?
  15. I've never seen anything but a scourge take it, imo the fear ring is much stronger as the 3rd utility, the first 2 are locked by walk/wurm

  17. I play in plat1/plat2, that's where my experience is from. Support guard is not focused because it's an easy target, it's not. It's focused because it has too much rez potential. It is actually harder to kill than most other specs, it's very durable. I'm asking for this nerfs as a guard main because of how boring it makes my matches. Other guardian builds should be buffed, why does guardian have no middle ground? it's either complete glass cannon or super tanky support with 0 dmg.
  18. I don't know what else to say that hasn't been said, Anet has tried addressing the issue, unsuccessfully. It's honestly tiring every game to chase the support guard, it's boring. It's also boring to play a support guard. Please just nerf its survivability, without hurting all guardian builds in the process. Nobody likes this meta, there are other problematic specs, like necros with overtuned shrouds, power rev with overtuned damage. But this spec alone keeps the match stale, creates long, tiring and boring fights. It's just bad gameplay. Also, I don't understand why the removal of support amulets was ever the answer for this, why not just reduce the vitality these amulets have? If support guard had 12-14k hp it wouldn't be as durable as it is now.

  20. I agree ofc that the scaling on Gunsaber is ridiculous, but why are people comparing it to true shot? That dmg is a couple of modifiers on Spear of Justice that makes any guardian's burst insane on the target, you could get that much dmg with Hammer or GS. Besides, different classes have different limiations, the only way to deal that much dmg is to go full damage traits and use berzerkdr amulet, leaving you with 11k health.

  22. I don't know how or why, but Beta elite specs can somehow play in ranked, I just had a Vindicator on my team and a catalyst on the enemy team.
  23. I like those ideas but I'm also trying to not change the design of the weapon too much. Just tweak numbers.
  24. Hammer has its strengthes and fun aspects to it, but it's just a bit too clunky. In terms of control, support and damage, it doesn't compete with guardian's other weapons. This is what I think we can all agree on: - Hammer auto attack chain lacks damage - doesn't feel like you're swinging a 2-handed hammer. Should be increased. - Hammer auto attack chain 3: It's too slow. Should be reduced to 3/4 sec. Symbol duration / protection duration could change accordingly. - Hammer 2 /w Glacial Blow: Why increase the cd? These are less important in my opinion, but I think they will make the weapon less clunky and feel much more impactful: Hammer 3: Reduce the cast time to 3/4 sec. Hammer 4: Make this Unblockable. Hammer 5: Add a burst of damage to the swing, similair to DH's Longbow 5.
